QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 01:58 PM) Where's Lyles at? Arsenal Tech in Indy.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 12:27 PM) You probably know more than me, but Harris is still the best player in Indiana coming out this year, its a tall order saying a 2014 guy is better than him already, especially when said player is not a consensus overall top guy in the country like someone like Oden was. Lyles is top 10 in 2014 (from all indications moving on up, likely top 5), which is considered to be one of the best classes in the past 10 years. 2012 was a "down" year nationally. Harris is the best player coming out of Indiana this year, but Lyles is the "best player" in Indiana. He's averaged a double double all since he stepped foot at Tech his freshman year, without even half the help Harris had at HSE (Irvin- who some consider the best 2013 in Indiana is heading to UM and Bledsoe who is mid major D1 point guard).

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 10:00 PM) Better than Harris huh? Thats saying alot. Harris is a great player. Would have loved him at IU. Harris is ranked from 10-25 on scouting sites, probably around #20 seems right. D. Thomas was more impressive in HS than Harris. He's not a sure fire one and done like Oden/Gordon/Lyles are. Trey will be at IU for one year. No chance he comes back. He would have gotten minutes for IU last year.

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 02:44 AM) IU commit and junior to be Trey Lyles chose to play for the Canadian (he was born there) U18 Junior National team rather than the US National U17 team. So far in three games, being played in Brazil, he is averaging 17 pts and 16 rebounds a game. Not bad for a kid playing up. Easily the best prospect out of Indiana since Oden/Gordon. Unreal skill at his age. Athleticism is coming along very quickly too. If he was eligible for Mr. Basketball this year, he would have won it.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 07:43 PM) Remains to be seen if the guy is a stud. The closer has to shut it down. The bigger issue is Reed's stuff hasn't been as dominant as what we saw at the end of last year. Today, Quintana was a stud... He threw 77 pitches and didn't give up a run. You don't take him out. As Hawk would say, "You don't know s*** about baseball".
-
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 07:23 PM) Far from a no-brainer to leave Q in to pitch the 9th. Leave him in and HE loses the game his confidence could take a hit and this is a guy we look to be counting on here at least short-term. WTF are you talking about. You live and die with the guy who you got you there, especially when he's thrown UNDER 80 pitches. Completely mind-boggling. It's obvious the guy knows how to pitch and is a competitor, he's not going to "lose it" if he ends up losing it himself. This guy is a stud.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 08:05 PM) Oladipo shooting 38% from three is simply laughable. Prepare yourself then for the comment to be brought back when he does... I guess if he has to even attempt a three, that is.
-
Crean is pushing full class loads and summer courses on the athletes that can handle it, which is a good idea since he'll be oversigning so much. Peegs is interviewing about 5 prospects a week it seems that have visited IU and it seems Oladipo is just on another level, along with Zeller (also heard great things about Sheehey). Couple top 20 prospects in 2013 and 2014 scrimmaged with the team and said there's just no way Vic and Cody will be back in 2013. Couple that with 5-6 NBA scouts that have made it into open gyms saying Oladipo looks like a first rounder, I'm interested to see just how unstoppable this kid has become. The last 6-8 games of the season he was one of the best players in the country at getting to the rim. I went back and watched the UK game in the NCAA tournament... He drove 9 times, and scored 7 times on Miller/Gilchrist and Davis. Should be a great, great year.

QUOTE (God Loves The Infantry @ Jun 13, 2012 -> 09:32 PM) How do you know these guys? Care to elaborate on their asshole-ness? I played with both of them on the Indiana Bulls. -

Is there a beer better than 3 Floyds Zombie Dust? I'm obsessed with the stuff. Too bad you can only get it at the brewery. Time to make another trip to Munster....

Nice! Your sig is badass too. -
Sounds like Illinois just basically "cooled" on James. I bet he ends up at a mid-major. Didn't have a real good year at La Lumiere.
-
It seems every major recruiting analyst thinks it will be MSU or Duke for Parker. He dad is terrified of flying, so I'd assume MSU is in the drivers seat Mr. Parkers services.

I wonder how Keith Law felt about that start by Chris Sale last night? What a dumbass

Great win. We are playing some impressive ball right now. Is Quintana very highly thought of? Havn't been following our farm teams of late... thanks in advance

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 26, 2012 -> 12:38 AM) #humblebrag Haha I hear ya. I was however kind of shocked the guy didn't even ask me, or tell me the story was even up.

Was reading Yahoo! Sports front page a little bit ago and noticed a familiar face... Myself. Is it legal to do a story, use my facebook picture, then run it on a huge website? Jeez lol http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/highschool-p...Y3Rpb25z;_ylv=3

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 24, 2012 -> 01:28 AM) Fowler huh? I spent a year at St. Joseph's College and my roommate was from Fowler. Being that the town is so damn small, you may know his family, who I believe is political. His dad is a judge I think. Travis Kepner was my roommate. Yep, I know him. Small world. And yes, his dad is the judge. Real nice guy.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 23, 2012 -> 03:06 PM) No, not a basketball guy, just really like the movie Hoosiers. My background is in call center/customer service management. Haven't seen too many jobs in that field available in the Lafayette area. Yea, you're best bet is somewhere at Purdue if you're looking somewhere in Lafayette.
-
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 23, 2012 -> 02:15 PM) You would have to help hook me up with a job though. It's the only way I'd be able to convince my wife to live in Benton Co. Hahah even I'm not moving to Benton. I'm staying in WL, which is only about a 20 minute drive. What kind of job? Judging by your username, I'd guess you are a basketball guy? Unfortunately, the basketball job was just filled last week.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 23, 2012 -> 02:01 PM) Congrats. I am looking for a new job in the northern half of the state and do have a left-handed son who will be a freshman in 2022-23. That's what I'm talking about haha. Thanks everyone.
