Free Agency - How confident are you?
You have to give to get. Not giving up anything significant for a shitty player and hoping he turns into a good player rarely works out.

Who would still want Maddon?
I think a Chimpanzee can manage the White Sox better than Ricky Renteria but that doesn't mean I want a Chimpanzee to manage the White Sox next season.

2020 MLB Draft Thread
Ha. I do like my high ceiling position guys but there are a lot of college arms to like too. RHP Emerson Hancock (Georgia) has the best combination of body, athleticism and stuff. There's some effort to the delivery and he was ouchy last spring but he looks to have the highest ceiling among the college arms. RHP JT Ginn (Miss St) is a draft eligible sophomore who was a 1st round pick by the Dodgers but decided to go to school so if you think they know something about drafting players (they do) he would be a nice target. RHP Cole Wilcox (Georgia) is a big bastard and another draft eligible sophomore with a heavy fastball plus secondaries and plus command. He's probably the best combination of floor and ceiling among the college arms. He won't turn 21 until a month after the draft. LHP Asa Lacy (Texas A&M) is a pitchabilty lefty who gets it done more with deception than big stuff and those guys scare me this high in the draft. LHP Reid Detmers (Louisville) is another guy who doesn't show a big fastball but his plus plus curveball is a separator and the change and command are improving. Again top 10 may be too high. RHP Tommy Mace (Florida) is the guy I'm most interested in seeing this spring. He's tall (6'6”) and wiry and nasty as shit but his command comes and goes. If he's able to make a couple adjustments he could easily jump into the top 10. He reminds me a little of Jack McDowell. RHP Tanner Burns (Auburn) has really good shit but is an undersized righty with a max effort delivery. Reminds me too much of Carson Fulmer. I'm out. A few other guys I'll be watching closely are LHP Jake Eder (Vandy), Joe Boyle and his 100+ fastball (Notre Dame) and LHP Luke Little (San Jac)

TA and Yoan have combined for 8.5 fWAR: is this the best young double play combo in Sox history?
All I see is blonde, brunette, red head....

9/18 Sox@Twins
Oh christ Benetti is back on Sergio Romo. My god he can't let something go. I watched the game. It really wasn't THAT interesting.

I'd like to see him take a hack on 2-0 rather than that bullshit fake bunt thing.

9/18 Sox@Twins
It's all part of the plan. They have a ceremony planned in January where they are going to flip a switch then they will start trying to win.

Beautiful swing by Eloy. Not trying to do too much. Just line it back up the box and pick up the BI. Dude's a hitter.

The juiced ball
He's taken enough steroids to kill a small horse.

9/17- Sox at Twins, 6:40, NBCSC
He's oddly perplexed about a pitcher showing emotion after a strike out.

9/17- Sox at Twins, 6:40, NBCSC
Now he's walking it back. He's really getting annoying.

I think Sergio Romo pissed in Benetti's Wheaties this morning.

Holy smokes those two balls were demolished.

Engel is really seeing the ball well.

Sox at Twinkies
The difference being the Twins signed Arraez for $40,000 while the Sox used the 4th pick in the entire draft on Madrigal and gave him $6M+.

Sox at Twinkies
That was awesome!! Hahahahahahaha

Sox at Twinkies
His fastball gets so flat. He needs to get in a pitch lab to create some angle or wiggle. He's too hittable far too often.

Sox at Twinkies
Moncada's lazy plays happen less often at 3B but they're still there.

Vaughn's first pro season
Soooo they chose the top international player then the top 3 draft picks. Great work as always, Jim.
