It's been a rough go for the fan boys.

I caught a bit of Will Sanders last night. He's been inconsistent this spring and I can see why. First off he definitely looks right. He's a big strong dude w/a clean easy del and a H 3/4 slot that adds some dec. Last night the FB didn't show a lot of life thru the zone and the FB command was wobbly so he had to rely a lot on his secondary pitches which are pretty good. He threw some nice BB's that flashed above avg w/good shape and depth and the changeup is plus w/excellent sell and late fading action. The one below is the best pitch I saw him throw all night. If the Sox are going to put a premium on strike throwing and FB command from what I saw last night I don't believe Sanders will be in the mix for 1-15.

Tim Elko is 3.1 years older than the avg player in his league. Wes Kath is 2.4 years younger than the avg player in his league.

Thome is coaching his sons HS team right now. I doubt he wants to give that up because they're probably a better team.

Shirley is awesome. He's a fantastic evaluator and has a clear vision of the type of players he wants to draft. He along with several others in baseball ops will benefit greatly from having a boss who actually understands the baseball side of baseball which call me crazy is the most important side.

The top of the draft was horrible but what is also killing them now was the reluctance to draft HS players in the later rounds. Those players would be in the high minors right now providing depth but instead they had to take a bunch of college seniors who can't play dead because they had to overpay those awful top selections. That was the draft strategy of the three ring circus of Hahn/Haber/Hostetler and trying to blame the current awful system on Getz is beyond ridiculous.

Are you really blaming him for all those years of awful Hostetler/Haber drafts? He's bad at his job because he couldn't turn years of chicken s%*# $10,000 money savers so they could overpay bad college corners into chicken salad? That's certainly a take.

He's not a Harvard asshole who thinks he has all the answers so he has that going for him.
