  1. It’s very strange. I know the strategy from Cooper is to try to always get 6 innings out of their starters but that doesn’t preclude you from having a reliever warming up just in case. I think Cooper fell asleep too.
  2. It would only make sense if Cease was called up along with Keuchel’s signing. Then, you would have filled two of the big holes (Banuelos and Covey) in your rotation. I don’t see it happening but it would definitely improve the team’s chances for this year. Also, it would only be money and you may have Keuchel for more than one year. Obviously, you wouldn’t want to pay a ton of money but the years on the deal would be a bigger concern for signing Keuchel. But just look at the money Hahn already wasted this past offseason. He has two good acquisitions in McCann and Colome and they only made up around $10 million of the total $42 million or so he spent on the likes of Alonso, Nova, Herrera, Jay, and Santana. That $32 million dollar difference could have paid for a lot of Keuchel’s contract. If Hahn can burn $32 million on trash, I can’t argue with people who would rather see him spend it on an established, albeit aging, starting pitcher. Basically, it’s hard to complain about spending money on Keuchel when he won’t cost a draft pick and we’ve already seen the junk that Hahn will waste his offseason money on.
  3. They aren’t? I’ve been using a VPN to watch them. lol
  4. We will always have Jared Mitchell just two picks earlier.
  5. I was looking for a recent post in which he ripped him again.
  6. He’s a great fit for the Brewers and I’m not surprised he signed there. Gio is mostly a 5 inning pitcher these days but the Brewers can finish up his starts with their bullpen.
  7. I don’t think he’s a legit starter but the sad thing is that he might be a good reliever / long-man. The Sox using him as a starter is likely blowing up his stats.
  8. So Ricky didn’t leave Lopez in too long on purpose last night. He’s just a terrible manager asleep at the wheel.
  9. Ricky just did it again. He didn’t have anyone warming up early enough. And this time, Ricky pulled an overdone Banuelos after a 1-0 count to the batter. Taylor was wrong. It isn’t some sort of rebuild strategy. Ricky is just a terrible manager asleep at the wheel.
  10. Banuelos is probably just a reliever at best but when your three starting pitching acquisitions are Banuelos, Nova, and Santana, you shouldn’t be surprised when your rotation falls apart before June.
  11. Stop using facts and logic to prove Taylor wrong. 😂
  12. Yes, and apparently some people don’t understand it may not always be a positive to leave a young player hanging out to dry when he obviously has nothing left.
  13. I wouldn’t guarantee Leury Garcia $30 million dollars unless he crapped gold. He’s a barely .700 OPS 25th man. That’s what your minor league system should be producing with ease. Are Sox fans beaten down so bad from years of losing that they want to retain mediocre players at big contracts?
  14. While I agree with this knock on Renteria (Alonso is terrible and should be cut), the entire board knew and posted in the game thread that Lopez should have been pulled earlier. But Renteria and Cooper apparently have the strategy of having all starters go 6 innings regardless of how they look, if their pitch count is low enough.
  15. Agreed and while his defense will likely still be good, his bat could very easily go in the tank back to his Detroit days next season and he could hit like Welington without the PEDs. The reward likely isn’t worth the risk.
  16. Blame Renteria for not knowing how to manage.
  17. And go bet your money on that continuing past this season. The two $300 million dollar men were about adding a top young player for the entire rebuild years, not just for one or two years of non-competition.
  18. The Sox won’t spend the money. Just watch. We only acquire cheaper bums like Alonso, Jay, Nova, and Santana.
  19. I really hope Hahn doesn’t pull another Shields move and go all in, even if the Sox beat another mediocre team. The good team in the division ran a train on the Sox. Every time the Sox sniff .500, they fall back down. They just aren’t good enough yet.
  20. But look at who Hahn signed. Jerry obviously thinks that spreading out the money amongst a bunch of mediocre players is a better strategy than paying one better player a bunch of money.
  21. We may all disagree on what Colome will net in a trade but he will definitely be traded and the Sox will not be paying Kimbrel.
  22. I guess we shall see. I have no doubt he will be traded. I said in the past I would be happy with a guy like Ian Happ for Colome so if Hahn can do better than that I’ll be happy.
