  1. I have this jacket and wear it every day during the winter. You can't imagine the number of people who say "nice jacket" here in Michigan.
  2. That's just plain rude. Try to control yourself.
  3. The broadcast schedule can be found on the Official White Sox site (whitesox.com).
  4. What kind of fair contest allows a team to spend 5 times the amount of some of its competitors. Firm floor and ceiling limits need to be set asap.
  5. I am not advocating Yermin as a backup catcher. Yermin would be my 3rd/emergency catcher until Vaughn comes up... primarily filling in as DH. I don't and never did want Yermin to catch in anything other than mop-up situations.
  6. In a world that will have both leagues with DH in the not too distant future...he is a commodity worth something if we can showcase the hit tool. To call him a 3rd catcher is the same as saying DH with emergency catcher capabilities IMO.
  7. Yermin is "my" third-string catcher and I would love to see him get a fair # of at-bats while giving Vaughn a chance to sign an extension. He is a prospect worth developing for trade value if nothing else.
  8. Not long now...MLB sent notice of my TV subscription yesterday to be effective Feb. 28.2021. A sure sign that Spring is just around the corner.
  9. I thought it was obvious... I was making a generalized statement that in my mind was referring to the recent comments concerning Vaughn, Gio, and Lynn. Some felt Gio came from money and would hold out for the bigger payday. Some felt that way about Moncada and Robert. I think young players are smart to take a bird in the hand. Anyone can have their career cut short in a moment.
  10. Are you saying more conservatives have died than liberals?
  11. Hamilton is a good example of why young guys should think long and hard before turning down a fair extension offer. Bad stuff can happen to anyone.
  12. Jose didn't just get lucky with his improved hitting and fielding...he showed up in the best shape of his life. He has pride in himself.
  13. If you watch Tim Anderson and Derek Jeter actually play day after day...Tim will be the Gold Glove winner IMO.
  14. As you point out...the depth of our lineup just wears a pitcher out. Even when a pitcher seems to be rolling along he will hit a wall and the roof caves in.
  15. I suspect it would be of the fair variety. He appears to like the organization and generational wealth means not working the signing table at Sox park in your golden years. Like everyone...he would prefer not sponging off the folks. These are not dumb guys...they know careers can end in an instant.
  16. It won't bother me if you are there...but it will bother some people. On the other hand, if my being vaccinated, wearing a mask, and social distancing bothers those same people...they are the ones who should stay home. Don't expect everyone to do it their way. Just my opinion.
  17. Given Hahn's MO...I would be more surprised if he wasn't talking to those players about extensions.
  18. I like your idea of no divisions and a balanced schedule. Make it 4 teams in each league with each playoff round being 7 games. Get back to the best AL team vs best NL team not whoever got lucky in a few shortened series. A 2 out of 3 series allows for pure luck IMO. The World Series should really be for determining the best team in baseball that year.
  19. I share your view. Does that make me smart??
  20. You can add over 75 years old and where I live 65-year-olds. That list is being expanded quickly. In Arizona, the age groups tend to run a little older as well don't you think? Since I meet all criteria they can do anything they want other than shut down for another year. However, since it's obvious they will limit admittance, I suggested allowing vaccinated people who wear a mask and social distance as the most practical solution.
  21. I am referring to the fact that both looked like such sure things...they were virtually untouchable in trade talks.
  22. I still think the idea of Flowers/Lucroy as a backup catcher and Mercedes as the 3rd catcher/DH to start the season is best. If and when Vaughn is ready we have given a fair showcase for those NL teams or if Mercedes is overwhelming we have Vaughn as the super trade chip. Collins gets to catch every day at AAA and further developed.
  23. Benintendi always reminds me of Gordon Beckham and his rise and fall. Both looked like sure things to become stars. They both will end up with relatively long careers but with very ho-hum results.
  24. The people sitting around you have some right to expect you did everything possible to not be a risk to them. If I vaccinate...wear a mask...and practice safe distancing I have done everything in my power to protect you. If you are still afraid to go to the game...stay home. Depression is a life-threatening disease as well. We really need to let adults make their own choices as long as they don't interfere with the rights of others.
