Sox @ Nats (Covey vs Sanchez) 12:05 PM CT First Pitch
I don't at all if the decision is to trade Abreu but he is far from valueless IMO.

Ricky has a hunch.

OUTFIELD A MAJOR ISSUE.
I agree so long as that person has a good glove. You just can't bury to below average outfielders in the same lineup. Not even Trout is that good.

Best Organizational Young Talent Since???
I'm not trying to denigrate any of our White Sox hero's of yesterday. But look at the careers of those you mention: Landis .247 lifetime 10 year career 93 HR Peters 124 Wins 103 Loses 3.25 era 13 year career Mincher .249 12 200 Horlen 116 117 3.11 11 Aparico .262 17 83 Locker 57 39 2.75 10 Cash .271 16 377 Lattman 59 68 3.91 9 Berry .255 13 58 Hershberger .252 10 26 Romano .255 9 129 Battey .270 12 104 I think most of todays fans will take the over on their expectations on what todays prospects will achieve.

Giolito May's AL Pitcher of the Month
I agree with your evaluation of both where we are and needs. Gio has been a great surprise in that he probably is lead dog in the race with Kopech and Cease. Anderson and Moncada have to have lived up to your hopes and Eloy is where you would have rationally expected. Only Lopez is questionable and it's to early to give up. I like that your overall evaluation of what a team needs is for the most is already in the organization and developing on schedule. We have the primary lineup when Robert and Madrigal get here...3 good starters...7/8/9 bullpen pieces has the same job of finding those "solid" pieces that round out the team. We're not there yet but I believe we are close to being very good. However, last nights game does have me second guessing if Ricky is the right man for the job.

Best Organizational Young Talent Since???
Unfortunately, I remember it well. I started following in 1955. For my money I don't remember this deep a talent pool in those 60+ years. This group looks like it will seriously dominate for a decade.

Where is Nick Madrigal at in his development?
His skill set fits nicely at 1, 2 or 9 in the lineup. I imagine he will start at #9 but his high average combined with low strike out and 40-50 SB's are hard to resist. Actually where to hit Madrigal is a nice problem to have. Also, just noted he was promoted to AA today.

Nicky Delmonico undergoes season-ending surgery
He got a much bigger taste of the big leagues than most of the people who try. A life time of memories. I wish him well. Seems like a really nice guy.

Where is Nick Madrigal at in his development?
My guess would be sooner than that. I loved the pick last year and I love it now. He will be very popular once people get past the doesn't hit HR's things. He will be perfect at the top of the lineup.

OUTFIELD A MAJOR ISSUE.
You can only have one Jimenez type at a time.
- Reynaldo Lopez

OUTFIELD A MAJOR ISSUE.
I always hoped that one of Basabe/Rutherford/Adolfo would find their way to right field and maybe one may still. Tilson & Cordell are both fine with me if that doesn't happen. Nice to have a great hitting power hitter with an arm in RF but I can live with what we have. Sox need 2 starting pitchers including one stud and 2 or 3 good pen arms. A new manager and we're good to go.

FS: Andrew Vaughn goes to White Sox at pick No. 3
And they are both going to be very good players. Both graded out as close to the majors hitters.

Sox & Nats, 6/4/19, Rey & Strasburg
Freddy Garcia could get people out. All I know is Lopez better change something. What he's 'doing ain't working.

Sox & Nats, 6/4/19, Rey & Strasburg
Lopez needs to work faster...get the sign and throw the ball. I've always thought guys like him think themselves into a funk. At least when you work fast the defense isn't falling asleep.

Sox & Nats, 6/4/19, Rey & Strasburg
Francona would still be leading this game 5-3. He gets annoying because of his fast hooks but he just refuses to lose without putting up a fight.

Sox & Nats, 6/4/19, Rey & Strasburg
The only thing I ask of the Sox is to be entertaining. This game is not entertaining...it's maddening.

Sox & Nats, 6/4/19, Rey & Strasburg
Some guy once said managers don't lose baseball games...players do. He evidently never saw Ricky manage.

Sox & Nats, 6/4/19, Rey & Strasburg
Abreu has the power numbers that contenders will be looking for and who can't use a back of the pen arm.

Sox & Nats, 6/4/19, Rey & Strasburg
No lead is safe with the gas can he has become.

Sox & Nats, 6/4/19, Rey & Strasburg
A few more games like this and both Colome & Abreu will be on the trading block.

Sox & Nats, 6/4/19, Rey & Strasburg
We shouldn't.
-
Sox & Nats, 6/4/19, Rey & Strasburg
Just for fun...lets win this game just to spite Ricky. We can do it in spite of his clueless bullpen management.

Sox & Nats, 6/4/19, Rey & Strasburg
I try hard to like Ricky but I've really tired of this crap. Joe Girardi is waiting by the phone.

Well at least we know Washington isn't done giving up runs either. Battle of the pens still favor us. I hope.
