  1. Herrera is worth nothing as things stand now. It went from good to crapola almost overnight so I do wonder if health is behind it. Behind the scenes I imagine the Sox are looking into it health wise.
  2. I agree with your point. The concern for me is getting an extension so you have certainty he's here for more than one additional year. His current contract ends just when we are taking off. His value will never be higher than it is today so I don't want to give that up and just hope it'll all work out.
  3. Boras has always taken good care of Boras. He gets some clients a lot of money. Others he cost them months of what is already a short career.
  4. It looks to me that Abreu made adjustments in his approach and exchanged average for power numbers.
  5. Weather you wanted Vaughn or not...he's ours now so learn to love it.
  6. I don't think anyone is arguing to throw money away. The thought is see if he would accept a reasonable offer and fans would enjoy a more watchable team. He might come here and like what is being built. If not...oh well.
  7. If they are going to trade either guy...the time is now. I'm not advocating for either action. If you are not extending Abreu then you trade him now. If you extend him...that's great. He has substantial value. Just don't end up empty handed.
  8. That Eaton trade is starting to seem pretty wise on RH's part.
  9. McCann & Anderson deserve the honor but probably lose out to guys better known. I don't really see Abreu, Colome or Gio being overlooked.
  10. IMO the decisions are coming soon (next couple weeks) weather or not to trade Abreu and Colome. If FO doesn't trade either guy they are going to bring up Robert & Cease and make an attempt to compete this year. Maybe just my wishful thinking but no point hanging on to them otherwise. Their trade value will never be higher.
  11. Just the same situation as Moncada & Anderson. Takes a while to get comfy...then look out.
  12. In some ways that's why I want them up sooner than later. No matter how you do it...there is an adjustment period for almost everyone. They come up...take their lumps and work it out. In theory they are working with the best coaches, trainers and facilities. IMO playing against the best help develop their talent faster.
  13. These honors are really big deals. Not long now boys.
  14. If Jay replaces anyone on the current roster... Sox fans have every right to question that move.
  15. Big league club?
  16. I believe there is a rule that only New York teams are entitled to over three selections.
  17. Why yes...I believe it was me.
  18. Optimist have more fun.
  19. The draft is more than one round. There are calls with both agents and prospects going throughout those days. I would think it take all hand on deck.
  20. I should have said...once teams get past tomorrows draft they will start refocusing on where they are going now. I presume all teams are in lets get all hands on deck for the next big thing.
  21. Gio sure has me believing he's the real deal. Nice guy as well.
  22. Once past the draft things will start shaking.
  23. After the week we have had...FO is for sure bringing up Cease. Hope they have another idea or two for finding another starter. We are ready to come roaring out of rebuild mode.
  24. That Cordell play was really big with the game on the line. Avi doesn't sniff that one.
