  1. Lots of teams will be interested on that day.
  2. Sounds like me and my golf game.
  3. Sooner if they sign Eloy type extensions.
  4. Tonight might be the night for that hit we've been looking for.
  5. Yep and the right move. I stand by my opinion that when this team is ready to compete (2021), we will be thankful we missed on Machado because we will have more pressing needs in other areas and Machado won’t be performing to the level of a $30M AAV player at that time. I agree!
  6. Last night I was screaming at the TV asking why would Renteria leave Santana in when he obviously had nothing. The last few days I have been venting about Palka, Sanchez and even Coop. Good thing Ricky wasn't listening to me. Santana found his old self and looked good after the 2nd inning. Palka found a way to get on base a couple times and Sanchez made a play or two that Rondon would not have made. Maybe these guys who have spent their entire lives on a baseball field do know a little about the game. Great to see Castillo contribute and Colome looked like the real deal. The Sox are not good yet but they do have some exciting guys. The game was very watchable. Have patience.
  7. Mendick on the big club is something I could learn to like.
  8. The key beating KC is to keep the speed merchants off the bases.

Cordell for now and Adolfo, Basabe or Rutherford in the future.
  10. Madrigal will be your starting 2nd baseman next year. I understand you can disagree but we will see.
  11. If we had to move Moncada to 2nd to make room for Machado we would have blocked Madrigal. This way we still have a great infield with available cash reserves to extend Moncada, Cease, Kopech, Robert, Madrigal or find free agent pitchers, etc.. For my money I prefer not to have so many eggs in one basket. Someone needs to be on base for the thumpers. Just my preference.
  12. Been a long time since Coop "fixed" anyone.
  13. GM's do strange things when trying to find what they believe to be the final piece. Many Cub fans believe Chapman was worth the price they paid.
  14. As I said...I wish we didn't.
  15. The trades of Sale, Q & Eaton along with pre-arb early extensions show RH's overall negotiation abilities. The Shields deal is the only black mark for me. In hind sight we overpaid for Shields but we were shoring up the rotation. The Cubs overpaid for Q just like we overpaid for Shields. You're not going to win them all.
  16. As I've said before...he is going to be special. Working the count, using up a pitchers 100 pitches, stealing an important base. Nellie Fox won a lot of important games for the Sox and he was a Madrigal without as much speed. Can't wait.
  17. That is what RH was saying.
  18. Yomer is having the same experience as most players and regular working people. First few years he doesn't earn much and he's pretty good at some things required of a part time player. As time goes by he earns a little more money and gets to play more. Another raise or two and even more playing time. One day he is earning good money and doesn't play as well anymore. Boss says things are not going so well we need to make some changes. That's how it works. Yomer is not worth the playing time he gets or the money. I was a real Yomer fan but I am ready to move on.
  19. I also see a future for him. Needs to throw strikes and stop with the walks. He has stuff... doesn't need to nibble.
  20. I do believe you must be psychic.
  21. In trying to find positives I was thinking how likeable our future stars appear to be. Moncada, Anderson and Jimenez all smiles and happiness. Madrigal, Cease, Robert and Kopech also have nice attitudes when I see them interviewed. Once this all comes together I think we will have a nice bunch of guys to encourage. Thomas & Buehrle were great baseball players and came across as good natured guys. Great examples for the current group to emulate.
  22. Now that I think about it...I wonder if Mark Buehrle would like to coach.
  23. Pitch like we have and the sky is the limit!

Why not give Cordell the major league at bats over Palka? Better hitter, better runner, better defensively & better arm. I would think Cordell would have more trade value if he could show his wares. Amazing how we give unlimited time to some players while a Cordell actually does something and we send him down. By the way...I actually like Palka and he seems like a nice guy...but he is lost at the plate. Needs to find himself at AAA.
  25. Seems like a really long time since Coop fixed someone. Maybe his methods don't translate as well as they once did. These lopsided losses that are over in the early innings are really unwatchable. Between walking the world and taking forever between pitches...yet we have unlimited patience with one non performer after another. We can't get 5 inning out of a starter without giving up 4 or 5 runs and the bullpen is just as bad. Who is a fault if not the coaching?
