Jose making outs instead of walks has been a real problem. Zero for 15 AB's for our top 3 hitters is terrible. Cordell with more production in 1 game then Palka in 17 was very nice.

Is there any word on Moncada?

I hope we show the same 17 games worth of patience for Cordell we gave to Palka. He has some good tools and might be a diamond in the rough.

Now only 4 players below Mendoza. Improvement by subtraction.

Giolito looked to be in total control. This was not our lucky day.

What a crap call by Joe West to toss Timmy. We should start our worst pitcher in the first inning and plunk the best hitter on the other team. We lose our lousy pitcher and they lose their best hitter. Dumb!!!

This game hurt !

We have 5 players hitting below the Mendoza Line. Abreu, Palka, Castillo, Engle and Sanchez are all hitting below .200 and frequently if not always in the starting lineup. Makes me kind of optimistic that we have a 7- 9 record with over half the lineup in a slump. Moncada & Anderson are doing some very heavy lifting while Jimenez and Garcia are contributing. I believe the 5 players mentioned will improve more than Moncada & Anderson will regress. Good times ahead.

Working reasonably fast and throwing strikes is a great recipe for success.

I agree. He also speaks Spanish which is a big plus.

Alonso still does a lot for this lineup. A professional hitter.

Engle makes it look easy. Pitchers who throw strikes are much easier to like.

The Sox have done a real nice job of keeping KC speed guys off the bases this series.

Bullpen works better when they take over a clean inning. Don't wait until starter puts a runner or two on base. Better to have starter leave a batter to soon than one or two batter to late. I liked this bullpen management.

Caught the ball and threw it. Didn't overthink and putz around. Keeps the defense in the game. Well done.

Yep and the right move. I stand by my opinion that when this team is ready to compete (2021), we will be thankful we missed on Machado because we will have more pressing needs in other areas and Machado won’t be performing to the level of a $30M AAV player at that time. I agree!
