  1. Just my way of reminding that we can disagree without being disagreeable.
  2. Hope to have a look at him soon. We still need to find someone reliable for 7th. I will always believe 2005 was won because we locked down the 7 th & 8th innings. Lots of close victories.
  3. My brother is two years older and the Cub fan. We at one time got into fights over our teams and perceived disrespect. We currently live in different states and spend a couple hours every other week on the phone. Main topic is still Cubs vs Sox. We are both far more diplomatic today.
  4. When I was 10 years old back in 1955 I discovered being a baseball fan. My immediate family were for the Cubs. Thank God my Grandparents were Sox fans and steered me right. My reason for picking Sox was their recent 3rd place finishes in the 8 team league compared to last place Cubs. The Cubs fans had only Ernie Banks. Carrasquel and Fox were our double play combo---Aparicio came a year latter. I was hooked on good defense, stolen bases, high batting averages and winning. The Cubs were left with waiting around until Banks came to bat. 4 years latter we had added enough "good" players around the stars to win the championship. Currently some boys & girls will make the same lifetime choices. They will look at reasons to pick Cubs or Sox and be stuck for life. Yesterdays game was just great for winning over some new fans. While Cubs are in last place we played exciting baseball with lots of action. Our lineup is full of exciting guys like Moncada, Abreau and Anderson with many more coming soon. Main point ---this will be a critical time period in White Sox history. This year and the next few will see many kids get hooked on the White Sox. I love that most of this era will be about the home grown system players and not the hired gun free agents. It's going to be a fun ride.
  5. Your possibly right. I guess Avi spoiled me.
  6. Moncada and Kopech are both fun to watch. I loved Sale but am very happy with the return. Moncada looks like one of those guys who put fannies in the seats as Hawk would say.
  7. Madrigal type guys on the opposition always seem to beat us. The walk, single or great defensive play when it breaks your back. Fox got to the HOF doing those things. If Nick is 75% of what Fox was he will be a big Sox fan favorite. I choose to expect it!
  8. Some guys like Eloy are good bets before they play a major league game - while I'm glad we waited to see on Moncada. Cease and Madrigal perhaps Robert might fall into the Eloy grouping. I'm with you on the wait and see on Gio & Lopez. Sox management has been good on this point. Sale, Q, Engle & Anderson were all plus deals long term. Only Danks was a poor idea. Pretty good odds.
  9. My point was the guys are scoring a good number of runs without much contribution from five REGULAR players on the current roster. Most fans would have expected those five players to contribute more than they have. I am well aware that at least 4 of them won't be on the AS team.
  10. They will be better than this is my only point.
  11. Sanchez currently at .048 and Engel at .143...they will improve on those BA's. Don't need to be a troll. Just fact.
  12. How many daily runs will the guys score once Jimenez, Rondon, Palka, Sanchez & Engle come to the party.
  13. Extensions are the way to go. The sooner these guys sign up for these...the sooner we will see them in Chicago. Player, agents and management all know the situation. When management is sold on a player being ready they should get it done.
  14. I agree 100%. Extensions are the way we need to operate instead of these free agent follies. I see where Sox were talking to Dylan Cease people during ST. Hope the have those same talks with Madrigal, Robert, Kopech and Rondon.
  15. Sure glad we didn't waste our limited resources on that other guy they were interested in.
  16. With what Moncada and others are doing around him---it seems Abreau is not diving at some of stuff he was chasing in the past.
  17. 3 & 3 sure feels a lot better than 2 & 4. Great game to win.
  18. Fox was a 12 time All Star, 1959 MVP, 3 time Gold Glove and Hall of Fame member. He only hit one or two homers per year. Lots of ways to be of value.
  19. The man knows how to work a walk. Has a very professional approach.
  20. If we could all agree on which player excites us the most we would all have matching jerseys.
