  5. Your opinion does count, very much. But consider that God did not allow you to be old enough to vote in this election for God's own reasons....
  6. fight back $150 Million to Hide Bush's Record Since the polls closed on Super Tuesday, we have raised over $2 million online. Let's make today another seven figure day; there's no better way to tell George W. Bush his days are numbered. With a series of television ads running now, Bush is trying to rewrite history and hide his miserable record behind a $150 million mountain of cash -- raised from corporate special interests like the big oil and drug companies. And today, you and I go to work making sure his cynical plan doesn't succeed. https://contribute.johnkerry.com The Bush campaign's massive advertising campaign may be the largest media blitz in political history. But it is still not enough to cover up the trail of broken promises he has left across America -- not if you and I are committed to standing with John Kerry every step of this campaign. The Bush strategy is clear. Use wedge issues to divide America. Work overtime to distort John Kerry's record. And use his campaign war chest to try to cover up his failed record. Don't let Bush's attempt to rewrite reality succeed. Make the day he launched his media blitz the day you redoubled your commitment to John Kerry and his campaign to bring change to America in 2004. https://contribute.johnkerry.com Warm regards, Mary Beth Cahill Campaign Manager, John Kerry for President www.johnkerry.com P.S. The real story here is what's not in the new Bush ads. This president acts as though the last three and a half years never happened -- for example, Bush doesn't mention that he promised his tax cuts for the wealthy would create over 1 million jobs, when over 3 million people lost their jobs under Bush.
  7. John Kerry loves you! That's wny he is doing all this, to make America a better place again!
  8. omewhere if you can find it in the archives of this place I believe spiff was the creator but I could be wrong but I think it was spiff who created a perfect imitation Tribune front page that had a screaming headline that said "Sammy hits two!" and then in small type "Sox sweep Cubs to win World Series, page 16" or something like that. It was funnier than hell.
  9. Mr. S., I have never thought of Willie Harris as colorful. Now that you have named him "Pimp Willie" I have a nickname I can use on my scorecards! Thank you!

without you having seen the dvd I bet they do across the way you felt them I will never be able to listen without the visual in my mind it wasn't so much hearing Paul play Something on the uke that is moving, itr was seeing it knowing the long history there - I think this was perhaps far more visual and cognitive content related than it is musical - the entire time watching it was "look there is...." and that was the memory rush that gave content to what was heard I appreciate your insight - withoiut the visual I am sure you are right - and I too would like to have a cd of every song by George played in the order they played them -

I got the cd and the dvd on the way home last night (both were in stock at the 24 hour superstore) of course I watched/listened to neither when I got home at midnoight - just played All Things Must Pass about 18 times from the Anthology cd while I was buying ATMP and Best of GH from Amazon watching the PBS show I was stunned by how much Dhani looks and moves exactly like his father did all those years ago (and I count on you to get the musical reference there...) the one shot in the dvd of Paul, Ringo and Dhani in the same shot was heartbreaking to me I am unaware of the tribute album of which you speak - tell me about it have you seen Monterey Pop? Watching the PBS show was a huge head trip and memory rush anyway but Monterey Pop the movie ended with a 20 minute plus segment of Ravi Shankar and the original 67 concert audience and every movie audience I was ever in to see MPop (4? 5? 6? times) ended with the audience on its feet cheering this was the question at the bar last night and I haven't looked it up, but you would know - who were the Traveling Wilburys? My answer is George, Dylan, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty. But where does Jeff Lynn come in? And who was the last guy at the tribute who sang whatever it was he sang? He was the only person I did not recognise at all. and who originally did Wah Wah? I think I know but I am not sure.
  13. we could we talking about different things I don't know who sponsered the tv broadcasts the airplane race between (usually late) innings at USCF was ATA
  14. you are right that tax and spend is the honest way - spend and borrow is the way to 1/2 trillion dollar deficits the proof is in reality - when in the last 50 years did we have surplus and when did we have deficits and when is the deficit at the largest level by far it has ever been these deficits mean that interests are going to eventually fly up because of all that borrowing and a lot of that will be taken up (is taken up) by foreign investors - these huge deficits also mean that as Greenspan and Biush both said last week and widely ignored here that to make up the deficits, social security benefits will have to be cut I am not willing that my working class social security benefits be cut so that wealthy people can have bigger tax breaks - not at all - those who have more, and who have gotten more in corporate tax breaks, etc. can pay more - because they have gotten more and have access to all kinds of tax advantages that a low income worker does not have - don't believe, call a tax or estate planning attorney and ask - less taxes paid by anyone does not mean more investment, etc. because everyone does not run out and invest that extra buck. And why would they? what is the current interest rate paid on a savings account or certificate of deposit for example? The incentive for savings is gone except for the wealthiest. More consumption is not the answer when it means greater waster of resources. So tax cuts means the rich have more lavish parties - wow that helps the economy. all theories must be tested against reality - the Bush theory has very pointedly not worked - factor in anything you want and the lavish spending has put this country's deficit at danger levels regardless of what else one factors in the former Republican mantra of run government like a business does not work always but they don't say it anymore because no business, no family, could continue on this massive credit spree, deficit spending and of course chariutable giving is at all time lows right now and futrure Bush tax plans have everyone convoincved int eh world of non progfits that it will fall even further - mcuh charitable giving has bene predicated on the the tax avoidance prospects for huge incomes and estates. Eliminate the obligations of each American, the wealthiest Americans, to financially pay for the services they want (another phrase for taxes) and charitable giving will plummet even more than it has in reality A way to test the emptiness of the rhetoric is to take all the things that Reagan and Bush 1 said about deficits and spending in 1980 and say those things today and see who is judged by that. We could eliminate all taxes. We don't need meat inspections, highways, police and fire, a military, public schools, any of that s***. Of course if we do, how then do we pay for it? Taxes are the way we pay for the things we want and need as a country.

it is not a matter of you or me paying $1 moe for a made in US product it is matter of ripping away every tax break from every corporation that moves jobs out of the US and moves offshore for tax purposes and still wants every US tax break possible - I am sick unto death of corporate welfare for those who move our jobs away and then scream about having to pay unemployment compensation and their f***ing tax burden f*** them he fact that I live in a town of 8,000 and just lost our biggest employer of 2,700 people and are about to lose our 4th biggest employer of 350 people - the first corporation decided $81 million in annual tax breaks was not enough on a plant that was making them a profit - 2,700 people unemployed from a profitable plant, $81 million not enough tax break and I say tax the hell out of them for being off shore for tax purposes and taking our jobs for their profits you want a tax break from the US? Then keep the jobs here.
  21. All the Scream movies are the same - a lot of slashings, a lot of fake blood, a lot of S&M - a lot like any Mel Gibson movie except better done and far less pretentious

Jas, Bush was against the department of homeland security when the democrats proposed it - it got so popular he flip flopped overnight he was against the airport security being federalized but when it had 70-80 votes in the Senate he flip flopped overnight Kerry is a very good man. if you make any sense of much of what Bush says, that would worry me if I were you!
