Copland the spelling police are out today! this is the best new album day in a long, long time - I am loving this album so much! Beatles!
-
Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky Russian has that tc sound... I could have listed so many others too - Handel being a major omission, as well as Puccini and Verdi - I guess I like Geshwin more than you, to each his own, if we all liked the same thing no one would be able to get tickets for any concerts I taught my youngest to appreciate classical music from Tchaikovsky - he already knew the Star Wars music (the original movie, yes I and he are that old) when he was 3 and played the 1812 Overture and pointed out the cannons and he was hooked

all of it, as I understand, is from studio tapes - they waded through a lot of tape to find the closest to non Specxtorized stuff as they could - it was reported that the job was so good, Ringo loved it and Paul didn't even want to fiddle with anything himself this album is so sweet, so good - right now I am grooving on I Me Mine again and happy that I am the landlord because the upstairs neighbors have no one to complain to about the loud mysuic at night! you are more of a Beatles rarities expert than I will ever be - I am thinking that Across the Universe is very similar to a rarity version released on vinyl back in the stone age when I was married and my wife and I got it rather than buy groceries -

USC might fall to #3 in the BCS

If Purdue loses to Indiana, we will all be stunned! At this point I don't care about the BCS anymore. Michigan wins, we are in. And we will win. That is all I care about. Right now there is rain, heavy rain all day. It is good we have the new turf. The turf of prior years would have been destroyed by the end of the 1st quarter. The new stuff is durable and drains great. Of course this rain is early enough in the week that we should have clear weather by Saturday. Now I wouldn't mind a Snow Bowl part 2 but I'll have the kid and I don't need him freezing. -
The Beatles are not over rated. Don't make me send southsider2K4 down there to kick your ass! 18-19-17-20 is what I was going for as times of composing - later on I will look up to see if there is overlap of centuries
-
I am getting my album later today. Thanks to all for the reviews. I did not have to live in the time of Mozart to appreciate his genius. I did not have to live in the time of Beethoven or Bach or George Gerswhin to recognise their greatness. (Quick question - name their centuries without looking them up...) The Beatles are one of the most important musical genii of the 20th century and that is not a debatable proposition. They simply were. One does not have to be a fan of their music to recognise their importance or their contributions.

If USC falls and LSU wins out, LSU will play Ok. Michigan needs USC and LSU to both lose while beating OSU -

USC might fall to #3 in the BCS

all of the above - SoCal loses to UCLA, OSU loses Saturday as we all know, LSU can stumble twice, puts UM up there for the Sugar Bowl - in a year when everyone but Oklahoma and Miami/Ohio have at least 2 losses, Michigan is finishing strong and has best claim. -
I fail to understand how a player on a last team team can be MVP. So where would Texas have finished without ARod? More last than last? Was he player of the year? Perhaps. MVP? No.

thank you for noticing the subtitle!

72 Dolphin team fans and players rejoice!
cwsox replied to cwsox's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
what are you talking about really. A #1 seed? Is this tennis? The 1972 Dolphins played a 14 game NFL schedule and 3 play-off games and went 17-0. Super Bowl win. Since then, in what, the early 80s, the NFL made the last 2 pre-season games into regular season games to fleece more money from the fans. Had the Chiefs gone undefeated, they would have played 16 game NFL schedule and 3 post season game, for a total of 19. The comparison is between 17 and 19, not 14 and 19. There is no asterik, get real. When the schedul was 9 or 10 games + 1 post season game, no one went undefeated. When there were 12 games + 1 ow 2 post season games no one went undefeated. When there were 14 NFL games plus 2 and then 3 playoff/postseason games no one went undefeated - until the 1972 Dolphins. No one has done it since. It remains a singular accomplishment. Note to Chisox Sonix Chiefs fan: condolences - tough to lose that way when going for the season - all old AFL fans like me have a special affection for the Chiefs given Super Bowls 1 and 4 - in some ways 4 was the best of them because it emphasized that 3 was not a fluke. -
1972 Miami record remains intact, thanks Cincy, too bad Chiefs

1549 - we are dealing with a Purdue fan: "I love Purdue, but I am smart enough to view things in a realistic many..." I suppose that is a typo typical of a redneck fan! the classic defensiveness of a cubs fan - we have a Sox fan who us arguing cubbie style for a team that lost 31-3 and yet still wants to proclaim his team better. And of course he is smarter than us. At this point, we let him believe whatever he wants, it makes no difference and not worth the discussion. He wants to make a point that doesn't exist. So be it. Probably dealing with a high school student from Danville with superior wisdom from watching games on tv rather than actually attending and has all of 2-3 years of tv viewing to draw on. Whatever. He has posed some intelligent comments on the Sox so we will leave him alone in his Purdue fantasies and some day he can go back and find where we didn't say anything about Purdue but was what is true.

that is true stuff - colors can very much effect mood and the lighter blues are calming that is why you never see a red wating room in any office but do see blues and lighter pastels the psychology of color is fascinating stuff Hayden Fry had the visitors locker room at Iowa painted pink

THAT is stupid advice. Mr W-DJ, IM or email me tomorrow - it sounds like NTN and wings time to me in the meantime, play "You're No Good" at high volumn and sing along

Note: I am not a Bulls fan. Play on 6 NBA championship teams, a claim frw players can make, get named one of the best 50 NBÅ players of all time, and get called the lousiest piece of s*** EVER ????? Wonder why players don't think much of the fans? Maybe Pippen should retire. Maybe not. The Bulls remain a less than average team, as others have said more a bit more subtle than I. But he is not the lousiest piece of s*** ever.

I very seldom post a pre-game predicition on a specific gasme in which I am emotionally invested but without telling anyone how I voted in this poll, I note: Michigan defense is better than OSU defense UM offense way better than OSU offense Coach Carr will not lose 3 years in a row to OSU UM will not lose 3 years in a row to OSU the game is at our house my grandson, undefeated at home and on the road, will be there Michigan is on a mission knowing it blew by a handful of points two games which is keeping it from the Sugar Bowl and to accomplish its goals must win this game factor in the game being THE game and it being #4 against #5 for the Rose Bowl berth or more and all the passion that rides in a Big 2 (as opposed to Little 8/9) game with everything on the line... and the game is on November 22nd... a date that means something in this series... think about the 1976 score It's all about Blue, baby.

black seats? sitting in the summer sun all day? no thanks...
-
Dodgers have blue, that is why we have blue I am tired of the blue/green argument anyway, been done to death and is silly The blue seats are quite alright. If anyone does not come to USCF because of the color of the seats, what kind of fan is that. The seats will never be green. They cannot be painted and to replace them all would be cost prohibitive. Now can we obsess on something that that is real?
