1. right. 2. wrong 3. wrong he played something on something... and there is a significance to that beyond his mere playing ... the answer still awaits.... (bonus points for mentioning Cilla Black - I always liked her)

if I posted that, I think I would get viciously attacked. so I will say nothing but right on, my brotha!

I don't like to think that Tuesday night at USCF is fight night. That just adds to a reputation we do not need, and in fact, hurts us.

correct! the questions just got tougher. Who is John Scott and what is his Beatle musical claim to fame?

I don't see that he was booed "off the stage." Sounds to me like he finished his speech after the standing O from the faculty and a number of students. The quote that says it all for me: The usual complaint is not that a speech is political. The usual problem is the content of the political message. If a pro Bush or pro administration speech had been given, would there have been a problem? I doubt it. That said, there is such a thing as time and place. There were ways to have said what Doctorow wanted to say and have a more "commencement" type theme and be far less in the face about the political commentary. Time and place should be respected. Yet Hofstra invited E L Doctorow and the content of his speech was as predictable as the earth rotating around the sun. Doctorow was very much being Doctorow. Like asking Freud to speak and being surprised he talked about psycho analysis. They got exactly what Doctorow is well known for doing, being overtly political. Blaming Doctorow for being Doctorow is not being fair. The administrators who invited Doctorow for this event should have thought that one through more. They got what they invited.

Any Miami Dolphins fans here...
cwsox replied to AngelasDaddy0427's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
There is no reason on God's green earth to hate the Dolphins. The Jets for all their NY-ness still gave AFL fans one of the great moments of their lives, Super Bowl III. The Pats - used to not be too thrilled with them since they are an in-division of my Dolphs, but they drafted one of the best qbs ever with Tom Brady and I have always cheered for Brady, saw many of his college games, and as the Dolphs are going nowhere with their current coach, I have enjoyed the Pats success in the big game - I always pull for the AFC as long as my Dolphs aren't going to be there, I love to see Mr. Cool Under Pressure pull out the big wins. He was unflappable at Michigan and he still is. For the comment on the 1st loss of the season parties -all Dolph fans of a certain age have them. That record, the undefeated season, is Miami's and I want to see it preserved forever. For those who post who are barely older than my grandson and who are Bears fans - not impressed, never will be. The 1985 Bears were special - and I think they would have beaten Miami in that Super Bowl - and everyone loved them, even me, because they were so Chiocago, they transcended everything that season. But: the Bears played at Wrigley when I was the age of our young posters. Wrigley = Cubs. Bears = Cubs. Look how similar the team colors are. I would never be a Bears fan. The team that played at Comiskey was the Cards. The most arrogant owners ever were Halas and Wirtz. The Bears had their sell outs at Wrigley, in the pre huge NFL tv and merchandise contract days, they didn't give a f*** about having new fans, and I disliked the NFL and all of its stodgy dull dinosaur ways so I was an AFL fan. A lot of Chicago native Sox fans my age (at least that I hang with) have a favorite NFL team that is an old AFL team. -
I don't like the Texas Ramgers and the politicans from Texas that used to be Rangers owners via sweetheart "put money in the dumb but well connected kid's pocket" deals. Kick Texas' ass.

You're a mean one, Mr. Flasoxx Jim, if you think I am going to buckle under so easily that you think I can't say Thurl Ravenscroft when I need to or know what else he did. I found a home yesterday in KZ I am going to make an offer on. Of course it is walking distance to Bells. About 4 blocks further than my last house was from Bells. But walking distance none the less. Shall I follow up with Michigan trivia? Cereal trivia? So I makle this a two-part really, really easy: 1 June 1967 pink green blue orange discuss

These are too easy so I won't even bother to answer this one. Kalamazoo, where I want to move back to, is right near Battle Creek. That should be answer for some and hint for others. edited to give others the answer: from tv commercials for...

as a since they came into the AFL Dolphin fan, let me tell you, I did party that night how can you say the Dolphs ruined anything? They simply played their game. The Bears were not capable of winning that night. The Bears got their Super Bowl (and I still have my Roselle head band) and we were all happy. The Dolphs have their perfect season. I'd be more upset, if I were you, that the 1985 Bears were the best team to only go to a Super Bowl one year in a row. -
see you Saturday and Sunday?

I quoted "Last in Line" at a funeral - as in our deceased was no longer last in line with God as he had been in the world... CHG: Happy Birthday and I have four letters for you: LSTC. You know what it means. And YES! to the chimp site!

Ncorg is a good guy and he has excellent sources Ncorg can be someone who is not always easy to understand but he is a good guy and when I look at the people who like him and then I look at the people who hate him, the people who are his friends are the people I'd much rather be with

The Official Send Cotts Back to AAA Thread
cwsox replied to AngelasDaddy0427's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I picture a thread by a Sox player that is titled "Send Bashing-Fan back to grade school official thread; I wanted to be the first to say it" and the post would say: The kid is too green! He will never be a real Major League Fan... And to think other posters were turning a corner and would of been true fans so easily. I hate having inferior teams to those of these inferior teams. Hopefully some other fans can get it done tomorrow... I get tired of the over the top bashing of players after a less than thrilling performance. We have enough drama queens over-emoting in their posting with histrionics that we may as well set up a theatre troupe. A thread or post expressing disappointment with a player's performance is always acceptable, this is sox talk after all, but it can be said that simply: "damn, I was disappointed with so and so today" rather than some of the rip and bash stuff we get. Just my opinion. Ignore me as usual. -
but I can only count 8 syllables there... 1. you 2, can 3. put 4. it 5. on 6. the 7. board 8. yes
