If I recall, a secretary came up with the idea for PetCheck which is a wonderful thing and I have commented on that before - my dogs have been to USCF (including Yankee games!) a lot and never once at Dog Day I agree with the sentiments of your post. Thanks. Although one can search through Sox printed material a lot and never find the phone number to call for PetCheck. They never publicise that. I always get the number from my ticket rep. Ribbie, thank you One could go all night thinking of our absurd ad campaigns and I hope we do - contribute them all! I could use the amusing memory rushes!

If the admins offered that chance as a raffle, we would all be rich
-
that's the one I meant, two years ago I had no idea they were playing this year

in our total Sox baseball history the Yankees have been our biggest nemesis I really despise them and all their arrogance How that sweet kid from Kalamazoo* ever ended up with them I will never know. Other than him, I really despise that team. (Derek Jeter who was a great kid in high school and continues to be and he has great parents who raised him well)

he also had Beatles things at SoxFest one year; in fact he had very good musical taste except that it seemed to stop with the late 80s. I can't recall (I may be wrong) anything musical that he did that was music from the 90s or as they say, now. I wish we had a Eminem night... especially when Detroit was in town...

Jas, Gallas sucked at his job. There were other facts to be very sure which we have discussed at length but when the cubs ran away with Chicago from the Sox was in his tenure. He sucked. I ask blessing on him where he goes next because as a human being he is worth that, I just didn't think he did his job remotely well

Steff, the last thing I am going to do is argue with a very special person to me about Rob Gallas of all people. I am going dancing tonight - at least will be extra energetic at aerobics and really blissful in yoga and may ever have a toast to his departure and I wish him well wherever he goes because he is gone and that's all I wanted regarding him Those who wish to be sad at his departure are perfecting entitled.

Steff, please I didn't dump on Elvis night, I said it didn't work for me, I didn't say that was a bad idea, and there is no way I am criticising things that do not work for me, I just said Elvis Night didn't work for me - there was no judgment there and no where did I say that he was responsible for all things corney but he had a job and he was responsible for his share don't be naive back at you if he is a friend of yours I am sorry but I have disliked the way he did his job for years don't be naive that we have had the best pr campaigns ever in his tenure we didn't have one good one

hey if anyone has a chance to go, go it sounds as if the rain will pass through go - please for those of us who cannot
-
they better continue with the sleep over! sure he had some ideas but not many, not enough "these kids can play" was a horrific slogan and did he ever come up with a real viable media campaign any season? Elvis night did not work for me, Caribbean Night was ok, I'm not going to knock a few specifics, juist his over all job performance what was his job qualification, getting mugged once? I realize that since I heard he was gone, I have been "Dancing in the Streets"

That is the best news I have heard in a long time maybe we will get some real advertizing now

who gives a s*** who America hates? We are only 6% of the world. We damn well better care what others think of us.

By being a partner with the rest of the world, not acting unilaterally, not with arrogance, but in consultation. Bush took actions which many warned would alienate not only the Islamic nations but our own allies. The current administration acts as if they are Rome and can impose its will on other nations. Kerry will take a far better approach. On September 12th 2001 we had every nation in the world in sympathy with us. Bush squandered that good will and alienated our own allies as well as well as many other people. Bush should be thrown out of office for that alone, squandering the good will of the world with his utter ineptitude and cowboy tactics. For those who dumped on clintoin for "I did not have sex with that women" you have your match and more with Bush's "I do not have war plans on my desk." Bush's own interview with Woodward in the new book point out what a lie that was. And lying about a blow job versus lying about war plans... hmmm.... Kerry will do a far better job with foreign relations. It will take years to undo the damage that Bush has done. We have to start on 20 january 2005 with President Kerry.

this is not a hostile question but one for me to learn: why would we call him up?
-
I miss the Magical Mystery Tour already no surprise because you called it earlier today, yes? I hope Jose has a good recovery knowing how that aggravated him before I can't call him StJosE6 until he comes back... So sending good healing thoughts Jose's way...

I never got one either. I love your suggestions. Every one is right on and (to coin a phrase) doable. Love your suggestions!
-
I have always disagreed on that one - but check the archives, the idea of writing one of those posts out again is daunting

damn I had those upper deck seats forever! no bleachers then, so I am sure that is why you were not there! As I recall, the seating extended a bit past third and first with two levels and then a little one level section each side after that. I was sure Fielder Jones was going to get a hit that day, he was my PTC.

never did like Addie Joss

just wanted to add i that after the road trip/home series with NY and Cleveland, I started meeting people at the park who hadn't been there since 1994 - the highlights of that summer were, as I recall and experienced it, the Boston game on 30 June when he hit 50 wins and no expected to have 50 wins by the end of June 30th... and then the St Louis series which brought in a lot of Cards fans - but it was from the first game home in the NY/Tribe series through the weekend before Labor Day that attendnance was good. Labor Day weekend we had those wild games with being down 8-3 to Anaheim in the 8th and winning, and whoever we played the following Sunday where the score went back and forth like an arena football game - great games, no people, for the reasons YASNY suggusts.
