I think I just heard that Frank will be wearing a prothestic boot for 2 weeks, presumably to avoid the need for the knife.

They're not sure he can get here in time, so probably not.

Levine just said there's been some confusion between Frank and the Sox. Seems like Frank has been saying he'd need the operation, contrary to the way KW was talking earlier today. He said Frank has been pretty adament about the operation's necessity. He said KW is "burnt" by the decision.

George Offman just said if Frank goes on the DL, then Maggs will be activated and DH starting Friday. ALso said Frank could have arthoscopic surgery if the shot doesn't help. Bone chips are the problem.

It's Chicago's local public broadcasting station. ALso, we lost the first game and of course forfeited the second. I was sitting behind some nuns that night. Crowd was chanting Disco Sucks all night long. Nun turns to me and asks me what are they chanting. You don't say "sucks" to a nun, so I brilliantly said, "Let's go Sox." pretty proud of myself. Then the nuns start clapping along and chanting Let's go Sox, and from 5 feet away it looks like they're chanting Disco sucks. Everybody laughing and pointing at the nuns, and I felt real bad about it. True story.

Sox media guide says the last time it happened was September 13, 2000 vs the Tigers, in a 1-0 victory, at home.

Next Monday at 8:00 pm on Channel 11, there'll be an hour special on this checkered day in Sox history.

ESPN radio reports that Frank got a cortisone shot today for his ankle.

I know that nobody will agree with me on this, but I'd trade Borchard and Rauch for Guardado. I don't think Rauch has that much going for him. I'm still hoping Borchard will make it, but I'd roll the dice on this one.

I'm not confident at all, but Shoney has to know that his mouth has written his ass a big check here.
