  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 20, 2017 -> 04:13 PM) You should really realize how young some of these players are before saying some of this stuff especially cause a lot of it isn't true. And if it was, wouldn't you be ecstatic that your team could make it that far with half of your core being like you say they are? They got through a young Brewers team and a Nats team that collapsed in Game 5. Pirates, Cards, Brewers have a lot of young talent and room to grow. I don't think this Cubs team ever looked very good. Arrieta's probably gone. Zobrist and Heyward look done. There's a lot more holes then people realize. In many ways they're worryingly close to being an MLB equivalent of the Hawks, where their top 2 mean they have a chance at the playoffs every year but the front office is going to have to do a lot of work to get around aging players and money. They made the NLCS 3 years in a row sure, but in 2 of those years Bryant and Rizzo looked mediocre in the playoffs. Everything isn't nearly as jolly and fun as some people are making out. And personally, I'd be furious the way they showed up against the Dodgers, I don't care if they're the best team in baseball. What do they have to take home after this series? A finger wag? Neat.
  2. He's on the team for the next year (in august)
  3. I can't believe half of these fans are in the "well at least we made it this far!" camp To me, the shine really came off this team. Schwarber, bust. Russell, average. Baez, average bat ++ defense. Lester, the end is nigh. Hendricks, took 4 months to get his velocity back. Playing Happ in CF is a joke. And Bryant didn't play well at all.
  4. Q is going to have to endure an entire offseason of mouthbreathers like Kaplan going in on him. I wonder how he'll take to it
  5. QUOTE (GenericUserName @ Sep 22, 2017 -> 02:33 PM) Me too, but if he falls to our second pick, is it worth the risk then? Yes, he'd be offensive Alec Hansen
  6. Rey showed some constitution here. Very impressed
  7. Matt Harvey will start on short rest on Wednesday. Is Collins trying to fire himself?
  8. Will Gio get the call as 26th man on Monday and start the second game?
  9. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 04:40 PM) Did any of the HBP look intentional? Can't watch today. Both Abreu HBPs were as intentional as it gets.
  10. Eloy's ICBM https://twitter.com/ChuckGarfien/status/889200941408419841
  11. Eloy hit a ball to the moon in his first AB https://twitter.com/ChuckGarfien/status/889200941408419841
  12. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jul 22, 2017 -> 12:20 AM) I'm with you. I don't think I've watched an inning this season. It's the mental midget pitching that ruins it. I'm tempted to get the Milb subscription. You haven't watched an inning of baseball this season? Why in God's name are you even a fan then? Jesus Christ
  13. Moncada coming up against Kopech this inning in the Futures game Ks at 101. lol
  14. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 08:35 PM) Look at Collins' numbers on the season. Low BA, High K's/BB's and hits bombs. I'm not saying its a bad thing but it looks like an Adam Dunn stat line. Which, as starved for power as the Sox are, I'd happily take. If Collins can put up Adam Dunn numbers with league average defense behind the plate he'd be so valuable it's ridiculous.
  15. On Monday it looked like everything was peachy, they were gonna run off a 10-2 stretch. Back under 500 now.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 03:23 PM) In the 4th round range, Toffey from Vandy and Mahan from Kentucky have been super impressive in the games I've seen 2 bombs from Toffey tonight
  17. QUOTE (shipps @ May 26, 2017 -> 01:36 PM) Schwarber is still going to be a monster IMO. Every eventual star player goes through some low points and he is going through his now. You still cant take away the monumental feat he accomplished by coming back last year to be a star in the WS. That doesnt just happen, that takes a special kind of player. I hate the Cubs with all that is within me but I can't get on Schwarber hate wagon. Remember that guy from the Yankees from like 15 years ago who went off during the playoffs from out of nowhere. Because I can't remember his name...
  18. Giolito just threw a no-no in a shortened game.
