Ther are 4 certainties in life:death, taxes, the sCrUBS will attract 3 million lemmings a year and Kevin Brown is always one hamstring or groin pull away from a year long stint on the DL.
-
After those 2 horses*** errors by Valentin,it really makes you realise how important this guy is to the Sox pitching staff as a whole. This was his 1st career start at Yankmee Stadium.Think sCrUBS fans are panicking?? Paywad (A-Rod) isn't hitting.Neither is "Jeetah" (Jeter). Commsioner Gordon should pick up the Batphone soon. (The reason I say this, for those who don't know,is that one nickname for New York is Gotham City).

I felt like crying Monday night after blowing a 4 run lead.Yeah,it's gonna happen, but that still doesn't make it any easier. It was a crummy Passover dinner for me as I tried to put on a brave face and pretend nothing was wrong. My mom knew better.Wish I could explain to my 6 and 3 year old nieces why their uncle didn't feel like rough housing with them that night. But having said that, you're right.PANIC CUBS PANIC!!THE REDS ARE IN FIRST PLACE!!THE REDS ARE IN FIRST PLACE!!!! :fthecubs

I believe the hitter you're refering to is Robert Fick,or,as Sox fans who remember the immortal Saturday afternoon brawl with the Tigers in 2000 call him, BOBBY f***!! He was ejected after the benches cleared and punches were thrown, many to Keith Foulke, who earned an unnecessary suspension for punches he never threw to begin with.As Bobby f*** left the field, the Sox faithful gave him a beer shower that would have made the late Al Smith proud. (Al Smith was the left fielder on the '59 WS team.As an anxious Dodgers fan reached out to grab a home run ball at Old Comiskey,he accidentally knocked over his plastic cup of beer. The entire contents spilled on top of a dejected Smith who stood at the base of the left field wall, dejected.Great picture of it in the book "'59,summer of the Sox" by Bob Vanderberg.)

:fthecubs CUBS LOSE!!CUBS LOSE!! It's nice to see those asswipes struggle just a little.I mean,s***,everyone has them and the Yankmees penciled in to play in the WS.As any White Sox fan can attest, looking good on paper doesn't mean s***.The old baseball adage about "the game is played on the field" couldn't be truer. Did anyone ever wonder how Julio Franco would have profited from hittng behind "The Big Hurt" for the entire 1994 season??That AB reminded me of how lethal a hitter he still is at age 80. PS- after 2 losses to the Palehose,do you think Commisioner Gordon(aka Steinbrenner) is on the phone looking for Batman yet?? Hope he doesn't find Bruce Wayne for another couple of weeks. At least not till the Sox are through playing 'em. GO SOX!! :fthecubs :fthecubs

Besides the Sox who is your favorite MLB team
FUCKREINSDORF replied to WSoxShuf's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Big fan of the Phillies (my Dad lives there) and,of course, any team playing the sCrUBS! -
4 of their pitchers, including Appier and MacDougal are starting the season on the DL.They have no room to talk. How about an over/under on when Juan Gone,Stairs and Santiago go on the DL?? PUH-LEEZ!!!! Memo to Royals fans:The only teams more obnoxious are the Cubs and Yankees. Hey,Royals, :fyou :fyou

I'd pitch Garland AND Wright before Schoenweis.Hell,i'd start Mike Jackson before i'd start Schoenweis. This better not be the Neal Cotts experiment part 2.I don't trust Schoenweis and the pitches he's working on,We're at the point of the season where you're either ready or you ain't.

I even have some of their old picture sleeve 45s.That'll date me slightly. I have 3 nieces who will never know the joy of walking into a dime store like Kresge's or E.J. Korvettes (a local fave here in Chicago during the 60's and 70's) and plunking down 60 to 70 cents for the latest Beatles single.Or Jan and Dean,The Dave Clark 5,The Beach Boys,The Stones or any Motown classic (it seemed like they released one every other day between 1964 and 1976 or so). Even The Lovin'Spoonful or The Byrds had picture sleeves back then.Hey,no MTV,no VH 1,how else do you promote the band, unless you're on the Sullivan show for a few Sundays (it worked for The Beatles). My parents bought me most of my collection.E Bay was nice enough to put them up for auction so I could reacquire the classics i'd scratched and ruined. No one young ever took care of records in the 1960's.God,the record players were anything but high fidelity!! With digital technology all the rage, I still enjoy playing the stereo 1964 issue of "Meet The Beatles" I won on E Bay on my turntable. For a 40 year old album, even the fake stereo mixes sound great. And yes,the Jan and Dean 45's are cool too.Did you know that the pic sleeves of "Drag City" and "The Little Old Lady From Pasadena" actually have the lyrics printed on one side?? Thanks for listening to me.I love 60's music, all types. After all,it was playing while I got ready for 1st and 2nd grade in 1968 and '69.That's when life revolved around 7 letters: WCFL and WLS. Later!!

Agreed. That was when WNUA was WMET,and Stroud did his shows live, not on tape delay as he does them now.Gotta admit that ruins it for my imagination.I always like to picture the radio person sitting at the mic doing a show. What do they look like?? You could pass them on the street and not recognise them. I didn't think 42 was that old,but God,i'm beginning to sound like the people i feared when I was younger.AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Just found the story on Yahoo.com . It said he had a seisure and had stopped breathing. He passed away Friday night. He'd been in bad health recently due to complications from the brain damage he suffered when he rear ended a parked truck in 1966. Another 60's icon is gone.Along with his partner,Dean Torrance(hope I spelled that right),he created some of the most memorable feel good summer music of the 1960's ("Drag City","Surf City","The Little Old Lady From Pasedena",among others). Anyone out there have memories of those old Jan And Dean records?? I caught most of them later in life when Bob Stroud began his Sunday morning "Rock and Roll Roots" program in 1980.Stroud turned me onto a whole era i'd missed, since I was busy growing up (i'll be 42 in June). Anyone with memories, share them and let me know. :headshake

Glad it's Harrison, not Bush. My favorite ex Beatles were John and George. They're both gone now.Probably jamming somewhere in musician's Heaven.

Matthew, Love the "Family Guy" references in your sig!! A true classic that never got the credit it deserves!!

We're gaining speed in the outfield,as mentioned earlier in this post. Also,Willie Harris and Juan Uribe won't be in center,so for that,I say,THANK GOD!! Infielders playing the outfield is a pretty tricky thing. :fthecubs

Got to agree with you. It's kind of like what Jack McDowell said in his Yahoo column, the Sox are "the best of a mediocre bunch" (and that's word for word). Personally,I like the fact that the pressure is on KC and the Twinkies.Let them feel what its like to be the favorite. The Sox have melted under the pressure of being the favorite over the past 3 years.Let's see what happens when nothing is expected of this team.
-
Even though it's only ST,gotta agree.

Who choked in game 5 in '84?? Huh?? ANSWER ME,MOTHERf***ER!!!! Rick Sutcliffe is about as valid as the asshole on 'MVP between 9-11 AM Monday through Friday. No need to mention names. This is just the kind of event that makes you scream f*** SCRUBBIE NATION OUT LOUD. Piss On Sutcliffe and the goddamn sCrUBs!! Hey, Giants-9,sCrUBS-3. Let the demolition begin!!
-
What the hell happened to him?? 'Roid rage?? Too much weight lifting?? Man,he looks mortal.Definitely not like the man the Texas Rangers nicknamed "Igor" .
-
Besides Carlton Fisk, name me any other Sox catcher in recent history that could hit above the "Karkovice" line (and Mike LaValiere doesn't count !!).

All this stupidity of challenging the media just makes me want to beat their sCrUBbie asses 6 for 6 this summer!! :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs -
Guess who came to camp slimmer?
FUCKREINSDORF replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Said he cut the weight by not eating fast food burgers. No 'roids here, right?? -
Don't know about this one.I'd rather have Galloway.Less ego,more talent,IMO.

JULIE SWIECA resigns from the score?
FUCKREINSDORF replied to southsideirish's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Julie Swieca was the only reason this Sox fan bothered to drag his ass out of bed on a Sunday morning at 7:00.I read in the Scum Times today thatshe didn't have enough say over the content of her show, whatever that means. She was one of the more entertaining on air hosts at the Score.I'll miss her Sox talk on Sundays. :headshake :headshake What a shame. To me,she was the most knowledgable female sports broadcaster in this city. -
Just get on base,Willie.Just hit the ball, take ball 4,do something positive. The rest will take care of itself.

WHY RIP MARRIOTTI WHEN WE DO THE SAME?
FUCKREINSDORF replied to southsiderod's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yes,he does have something positive to say;he's positive the Sox suck When he isn't busy giving BJ's to various sCrUBs,he tells us what Sox fans have been saying for 20 or more years already:REINSDORF IS THE MAIN f***ING PROBLEM AND UNTIL HE SELLS TO SOMEONE OUTSIDE HIS FAMILY,NOTHING WILL CHANGE!!
