  1. I had to laugh about two experts disagreeing on the diagnosis and they actually agreed on the 3 month part. 2-3, 3-4
  2. Of course you did, you hate everything the Sox do to try to improve to win a WS.
  3. Aj could get injured tomorrow and it would still be a great trade for the Sox
  4. I agree with above or I think a pitching prospect and just Vaughn would do it. Not sure I'd do either.
  5. IMO, A's will be looking for a pitching prospect in any trade for Manaea plus Sheets, Burger, or Vaughn.
  6. That makes no sense while Pollack may have played LF and CF more than RF, to say "I hope this means Vaughn (when healthy) in RF" who has played how many games in the outfield? I'd like to see Pollack in LF, Robert in CF, and Engel in RF...they are all outfielders and not 1B attempting to play the outfield for the first time in their careers. Eloy to DH
  7. He doesn't, Un-Vaxed and the Sox didn't want him much like the rest of baseball.
  8. Exactly, I knew the Dodgers would be calling just a matter of when. Now we don't have to worry about Kimbrel doing poorly and drawing no interest if this deal goes through. In Hahn I trust.
  9. If you admire Ricketts so much maybe you should switch teams and root for the Cubs and Chelsea.
  10. Not Rick or Kenny, just a loyal 63 year old Sox fan who doesn't like tearing down his team or management over everything.
  11. Robert, Eloy, Yaz, and Engel missed significant portions of the season last year , which might have something to do with your fWar (whatever that is) drop. How can you justify Ricketts attempting to spend billions on a soccer team but couldn't sign any of their core players ( Baez & Bryant specifically. What about letting staff go during COVID, can you at least throw JR a bone for not firing anyone during a pandemic ?
  12. I believe JR and Hahn were blamed for Vaughn's hip pointer when everyone thought he was done for the year because the Sox were too cheap to sign Conforto and he was playing out of position. The blame will never stop.
  13. 7th highest payroll in baseball but yet JR continues to be called cheap. If you want cheap, look to the North side owner who fired staff during COVID while Jerry kept every fringe employee on the payroll. Meanwhile Rickett's trades his core players instead of extending them and is willing to pay billions chasing a soccer team. No thanks I'll take JR.
  14. Sox payroll is 7th highest in baseball at 169.2, add 18 million for what Conforto already turned down that brings them up to 187.6 which would be the 4th highest payroll behind the Mets, Dodgers, and Yankee's. If the SOX made Rodon a QO and he accepted that would add another 18 million that puts them at 205.6 which is still good for 4th place but without signing a stud at 2B like everyone wanted. Of course they would have probably have shed Kimbrel's 16 million but that would still have them right up there with the top 3 in all of MLB. Certainly not fitting for a team who's fans watch from the couch instead of going to the games and supporting their beloved team so we could sign some stud players.
  15. What final touches Semien & Conforto, and have the highest payroll in baseball? Robert, Eloy, Engel and Yaz missed a good portion of the season. and toss in Rodon's second half falloff. If everyone can stay healthy at least to the extent their not out for months, than the Sox will be improved without signing anyone.
  16. Yes you are a glass half empty, Atlanta won the World Series by signing 3 outfielders midseason, every team has holes in their line-up. The only thing that will stop the Sox is their defense. If that doesn't improve, especially by the pitchers holding runners on base then we may be in for a repeat. Conforto or a new 2B are not going to win anything for the Sox in April, May, and June. Let's look at our needs midseason to see how the platoons play out in RF and 2B before searching for help at the trade deadline.
  17. Expand on the etc. part please. You make it sound like all contending teams have studs at every position.
  18. Having played fantasy baseball for years until giving it up two years ago I know how often closers lose their role or get injured. Hahn is being patient and waiting for a team in desperate need of a closer. With that said Kimbrel has to return to some resemblance of his former self for anyone to take on his salary which if we have to wait until the trade deadline will only be about 8 million give or take.
  19. I prefaced my thoughts/hopes/dreams for Lopez with "Call me delusional"...characterized by or holding idiosyncratic beliefs or impressions that are contradicted by reality or rational argument
  20. and Rodon has a history of injuries. Prior to last years 2.37 ERA, his MLB ERA for years 1 thru 6 averaged out to 4.921, Hardly dominating in my book. Look , I love Carlos I Just don't think he was worth the risk att 22 mil per year based on his injury history and a half season of progress last year.
  21. Not according to Savant he touched 98.5 more than once. I'd post the link but it was too long to post here, go to https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/
  22. I saw him touch 99 last year. 94-95 is a healthier place for him if he can command his curve and change-up
