is there any reason why this team should not take a run at Sasaki? He’s a 22 year old top pitching prospect, isn’t that exactly who this team should target? Land a player like this and trade Crochett for a couple top prospects , and i start feeling much better about this team.

What concerns me about trading Crochet, is that Getz will not get a fair amount of talent back. The Vargas trade was a Complete Disaster, Getz is just over his head. Keep Crochet!

The question is why not sign free agents!!! If the minors were stacked with top talent, i could possibly understand the no signing of free agents, but that is not the case. This team can’t possibly be thinking about rolling out the same garbage they sent out this past season, can they? i’m not sure i’ve ever seen a sports team so openly give their entire fan base the middle finger like this team does!! i think if We had any sort of bat at RF and 3rd base we could keep Vaughn in the lineup batting 8th, i could accept that. Yes, he’s no where close to what an acceptable first baseman should be, beit he would be acceptable.

Any thought of going into the college ranks and finding a coach. The baseball coach from university of Tennessee would be an interesting candidate. Younger, outgoing also runs a good program.

This is total BS!!! i guess he’s saying with Kannapolis and Birmingham winning, true reinforcements are ON THE WAY!!!! Anyone who follows the minor leagues knows our hitting talent is fair at best. We will NOT be spending money in the off-season on free agent talent so there is no hope of the offense improving. We are looking at a third season in a row with 100+ losses. i’m guessing that has never happened before?

i could be TOTALLY off on this but i don’t think this guy ever worked out during the off-season, i think he was flat out lazy. Baseball is a game that once you start struggling, it’s very hard to turn it around. A total waste!!

Overall the Gonzalez experience in Double A hasn’t gone to well, is it to early to say he’s a “non-prospect” at this time?

The key is going to be players like Ramos, Fletcher, Lee, Baldwin, Robert, Vaughn and Sheets can they become better at hitting? if they are struggle again next year, it’s going to be another ugly season. If they all can improve, maybe a 60 to 70 win team.

Watching the full interview with Getz, the only conclusion i can make is that he’s completely lost his marbles. Look at the minor league stats, there is no immediate help coming this way on the position side. i almost feel sorry for him!!

I’ve been really disappointed with his bat. i follow college baseball and i was impressed what he did at Arkansas, he just hasn’t done it for the Sox. i personally think he takes WAY too many pitches. Also, he’s always behind in the count.

Unless they make some major changes with him, he should not be considered a prospect anymore
