QUOTE (fathom @ May 29, 2015 -> 09:43 AM) Saw it last night. It's as bad as you'd think, yet entertaining at the same time. One of the most action-packed movies I've ever seen. It looks so ridiculous that I may enjoy it. Hard to explain. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 29, 2015 -> 09:46 AM) There is a spot for those type of movies in popular culture, I hate how critics try to compare them to movies with an actual plot. I like watching action movies with the volume cranked on occasion. Exactly. I loved Armageddon when I was younger.

Not gonna lie, I enjoyed Battleship for what it was. And yes, I'll see San Andreas. Mmmmm Daddario
  3. Some mocks say Cameron Payne could drop to the Bulls. I like him but the fact he played no good teams in college is a red flag.

Looks like another dud for Cameron Crowe. "ALOHA" getting 11% on RT. Think Almost Famous is the only film of his I really liked. Say Anything was fine and Jerry McGuire is highly overrated.
  5. If Bernstein is right, which I doubt, I don't see Rose and Butler ripping anyone. Doesn't seem like their personality. Could see Jo, Pau, and Dumleavy though.

QUOTE (LDF @ May 28, 2015 -> 12:46 PM) i never saw hugo. but tomorrowland is a great family movie. the kind that i would see in the 60's with a disney hype and a huge family event. Hugo is ok. Kinda dull. I don't really see how it can be compared to TomorrowLand though.
  7. Wozniacki gone in 2nd round after Venus "upset" by Sloan Stephens in round 1.
  8. QUOTE (scs787 @ May 27, 2015 -> 01:53 PM) Ring of Honor picked up by Destination America. Time to actually figure out what channel that is on direct TV. To air before TNA. Classic. I'll try ROH for sure.

Outside of a few long winded scenes, I enjoyed Tomorrowland. Definitely felt like old school Disney adventure.
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 27, 2015 -> 01:08 AM) LeBron is four wins from locking in a top five spot and four losses from locking himself out of a top five spot. To carry that Cavs team to the finals is incredible but would anyone argue that this maybe the worst Eastern Conference playoffs ever? The past decade plus has been bad but this season has been the worst I can remember.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 26, 2015 -> 10:38 PM) Tomorrowland would probably fall into that category. It's a decent movie, but more was expected from Brad Bird for $180 million and because of his past track record. In his pantheon, it's a misfire in the same sense Interstellar was. The reviews worry me but I still want to see TomorrowLand simply because it reminds me of the movies like The Rocketeer I saw growing up and hope it brings back some kind of nostalgic factor.

    I''l bite...What's SWOT?
  13. Any one see where Khris Davis for MLW was called out on an appeal after a HR. Ump said he missed home, but after the review, he was ruled safe. What was the umpire looking at to call him out on the appeal? The review took like 4 minutes in the 1st inning. But umps will get on players for stepping out of the box now and slow the game down.
  14. QUOTE (JoshPR @ May 26, 2015 -> 04:52 AM) Lets see his ass sit today. Ventura needs to put his foot down show bad play wont be tolarated. Not that lexi is really making a difference anyways. I'd sit him for the road trip. Not like we'd miss his bat.
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 25, 2015 -> 03:58 PM) Wtf was that overturn...cubs so lucky It didn't look like it hit anything. Oh well.

Silicon Valley is so F'n good.
  17. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 25, 2015 -> 12:27 PM) The Bears management deserve every word of criticism coming their way for signing that pos Hope they don't make excuses. Just release him and admit the mistake.
  18. ERA of 6. Hmmmm, will probably be under 5 after today. I don't know if that's possible. Just sayin.
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 24, 2015 -> 12:26 PM) You're an Analytics guy. All the evidence is there. The Warriors could very well be the best team we've seen since the 72-win Bulls. Of course, they have to finish by beating Cleveland. I'd go with 99-00 Lakers for now but if they sweep Cleveland, hard to disagree.

Still Alice was really short. Like an hour and a half. Felt like it shouldve been longer with that source material. Was still good. Maybe it was better it was short. Time seems to go by faster when you're suffering from that disease. Over analyzing maybe.
  21. So I missed the 3 goals in 37 seconds as I felt comfortable taking the dog out after going up 3-1. And I fell asleep a few minutes before the game winner. F hockey.

QUOTE (juddling @ May 23, 2015 -> 06:30 PM) Cascade drive in in West Chicago opening this weekend with Pitch Perfect 2 and Mad Max. I'm there ..... This summer will be the first summer in like 50 years that the last drive in up here is closed. Some company bought the land and building a Walmart. I didn't go much but kinda sad. Went to drive ins as a kid. Nostalgic.
  24. Astros just turned a triple play on Detroit with Kinsler running. Awesome
