QUOTE(winodj @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 11:59 AM) Us bleeding hearts welcome it with open arms. Even from wing nuts I want to be part of the "wing nuts"

I thought it was a good debate...I don't think it got out of hand or personal. Maybe cause it was on Pale Hose some peeps were caught off guard by the banter, but it is commonplace on SLaP. I thought YASNY's points were right on and enjoyed the debate.

Since I'm merely a photoshop novice...I figured I need to find a poster that reflects us all as sox fans without having to make many changes.....This should do the trick... I guess this also could have been for banned posters, but that would have stretched my artisitic capablities to say the least.

The Contest The Marine Biologist. and the one that hasn't been mentioned yet..... The Smelly Car. Where the valet stinks so bad it ruins Jerry's car and it clings to everyone who sits in it. Also this is episode where George thinks he drove susan to be a lesbain and Kramer steals Susans girlfriend. Don't ya see....it's the B O!!!!!!!!! One another note on the Parking Garage Episode..that is in the extras on the dvd....That whole garage is a set...they built it cause they couldn't find a garage to use or something.... Actually I found this Seinfeld site when I was trying to find name of an episode. It lists all of them....and after seeing all the names...my favorites list could be like 10-20 long easy. Easily the best comedy ever on tv...

Not that I was searching for this video or anything, but I did come across this... This happened a while ago I think AFTER we reported how "Trading Spaces" star Paige Davis got down and dirty at the Broadway Bares event at Roseland Ballroom last weekend, Davis tried to downplay her impromptu striptease. In a memo she posted on the Internet, Davis said: "I did collect some money in a pretend-stripper fashion from a crowd that was 99 percent gay men! No one 'mauled my breasts!' I kept all of my clothes on at all times. If any . . . fans are shocked or offended by the Post's coverage, I would have them consider the source — the Post is known for rumor and exaggeration." Well exaggerate this, Paige: you were caught on camera. Photos of her mid-strip are in this week's Star magazine, showing Davis in a sheer thong, legs open, with men's hands mauling her breasts. Who's lying, Paige? Reasonably office-safe photos here.

Open your items before leaving best buy
Controlled Chaos replied to Controlled Chaos's topic in SLaM
Yeah tons of people have made all kinds of suggestions in that thread. If that happened to me...I don't think I would have left best buy....they would have had to arrest me....cause I would've been raising hell -
This is not about me...I just read it on a board my friend sent me, but this would totally suck. Details: On August 4th, after a haircut, at about 7:15 I went to the Best Buy store in the city of West Covina, CA—in the Lakes Avenue--mainly to buy a Wireless PrinterServer. After picking up the Wireless PrintServer, my interest in purchasing a big flat screen monitor awakened. I had seen the 21.3" LCD Samsung monitor previously and had always got my attention. Before I couldn't buy it because it was a big spending… so after working hard and staying up long nights I felt safe to finally buy it. I talked briefly to one of the sales representatives and decided to take the monitor. I was eventually asked if I needed to buy it with cash or credit card. Given that I am one of those who get point on credit cards for each dollar spent; I decided to pay with my credit card. The cashier by the laptop section apparently doesn't take credit cards, so I was redirected to another cashier. I was also offered to buy a three year warranty once I was in the line. I didn't take the warranty because that would be about $250.00 more. All this time I was carrying the box of the monitor. When I was up next to the line, I asked the cashier to put each item my reward zones membership. She first scanned in the PrintServer, and then she scanned in the monitor. To scan the monitor, she "pulled" it towards the scanner. This transaction was completed at 7:49pm as noted in the receipt. I got home at about 8:10pm…and decided to open the box and install the monitor. I was very anxious see what had cost me so much money. When I opened the box up, to my surprise, I found that the box contained instead of containing the expensive 21.3" flat monitor, it contained a brick taped to a piece of wood. (see picture: http://www.eguate.com/misc/Monitor2.jpg I was of course shocked and immediately started to panic; thus, I put the item back into the box. I went back to Best Buy as fast as I could and got there at about 8:30 and told the person at the entrance of what had happened. At this point, Best Buy also looked confused. I asked some of Best Buy's employees who were around if this had happened before; some of them confirmed that they had seen it happened before—with VCRs. For the next 30 minutes or so, Best Buy store manager was eventually deciding what they would do. During this time I was left standing at the entrance with the brick taped to the wood. Best Buy would open the box and eventually took the item out…and then force it back in the box to the point that the box eventually got damaged (see picture: http://www.eguate.com/misc/Monitor1.jpg. There were at least six staff member that were examining the box. Best Buy said that it would go down to the cashier because she was the only person that lifted the box, aside from me. So the worst thing happened at this point—the cashier claimed that the box she had lifted was heavier than that one I had brought back!!! This was such a humiliation. The store accussed me of having replaced the content of the box. Moreover, this was a box that she didn't even lifted and that she only pulled towards herself with ONE HAND to scan. Eventually Best Buy took the cashier's words and then decided that I must have replaced the real monitor with the brick taped to the wood. At the end, Best Buy decided not to take the monitor back. By this time, I was alaredy stressed for the mal-theratment I was getting. I was being accused of having replaced the content of the box. Best Buy DOES NOT CARE IF ONE IS A FREQUENT CLIENT. Best Buy for example didn't take into consideration my history as a customer for them. I had bought so many items at this store—each year. I have bought several laptops, even bought a washer and countless electronics and software. I am a software developer—computer hardware and software is something that it is a necessity for me. FURTHERMORE, I spent so much money at Best Buy that I decided it was worth buying membership in their reward zone. But, to Best Buy--all these meant nothing…and they instead went with what the cashier told them—that the box she ‘lifted' was heavier that the one I was returning. The store manager gave me the number of the corporate office and said to call them the following day (Thursday). That night, I came back home—so humiliated. The following day I called the corporate office and talked with Leanda, the consumer relation. At least it didn't take her almost an hour, as they did in the store, that Best Buy couldn't take the merchandise back. She told me that it was not their problem and that I had to call Samsung for shipping me a defective item. Keep in mind, I bought the monitor in Best Buy and not from Samsung. Eventually event if Best Buy was the direct sales for Samsung, Best Buy didn't want to do anything to help. So, here I am stuck with a $1,244.86 piece of brick taped to a wood.

Why is Quinn still on this team?? I'm not going to blame the Bears for having him as their backup like everyone else has done. The fact is the guy has been in the league for like 8 years....you are not in the league that long if you are as bad as he has shown. He has to look good in practice. He's just a good practice QB and a bad game QB. I don't blame the bears for not seeing that at the beginning of the year. Who the hell can predict that this guy who looked good is gonna be so bad when he is called upon. Nobody knew...Marriotti, Telander and all the other sports guys that have blamed Lovie and Angelo for having Quinn as the backup to start the year are up to their collective eyes in hindsight s***. If he came in and played great they would be praising them for not wasting a spot on a QB that is going to cause a controversy and rattle Rex. Unfortunately Rex got hurt and the guy that looked like a capable backup turned out not to be. s*** happens. HOWEVER, there are no more illusions....we now know Quinn is not a gameday qb. Hell...he even knows he is not a game day QB. Some got it and some don't. It's time to get rid of him and give the roster spot to someone else. Anything less would be as big a f*** up as not playing Hutch the last few weeks just cause the team was winning despite Krenzel. The bears were winning cause of their defense plain and simple....Making a change at qb wouldn't have affected that defensive chemistry...if anything it would have helped it cause we might of sustained some drives with a new QB.

mreye... I get my metra pass pretax. Funny thing is I never even thought about why they offered it. I guess I figure if I can save a few bucks I do it...no questions asked. Now what that guy is doing sounds pretty fishy to me...

Artest gone for the Season
Controlled Chaos replied to aboz56's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I can't believe those of you defending Artest just cause you like the Pacers. He is a piece of s*** thug that can care less about the team. So you know where I stand, I can give a f*** about the pacers, pistons, or the bulls for that matter, so I have no bias. The Artest punishment is right on and I hope he gets sued for millions more. He epitomizes the typical selfish athlete. While I think Wallace shoving him was bulls***, cause it wasn't even a flagrant foul...I think Artest lying on the scores table while his "entourage" fought his battle for him was typical thug style. I'll just sit here while me posse handles this. Steve Jackson should have more than 30...he looked like he was in a typical street fight....just looking to fight anyone that he could. As for Artest punching that guy on the floor...I have no problem with it. At that point it was bedlam and any fan that wanted to stay out of it would have not gone to the floor. That dude was looking for trouble and got what was coming to him. 35% of the NBA would probably be in a gang if they couldn't ball. They are mostly punks. The ones that do go to college, don't learn much of anything let alone maturity, and the ones straight outta high school don't even get the chance to learn it. -
Here's what I see. Bush had the most diverse cabinet in history. He now has the highest postion ever held for a black woman. 4th step away from the presidency. All I have heard on the news since Condi has been named are negative reports. Alomst every report starts like this... "President Bush named Condolezza Rice his secretary of state to replace Colin Powell, but is he now surrounding himself with too many people that share his own views" then they go on to talk about the president's views. What about the significance of the postion she is holding. The media portrays this "Uncle Tom" theme or "token" blacks in the cabinet bulls***. Powell was the first black Secertary of State. Rice was the first black National security advisor, and Paige was the first Secretary of Education. These are not phony postions to just have a black face on and these are highly educated people, so to assume that they are just going along with the role of "token black person" is an insult to them.

Why do I feel like I am in the middle of Russell Simmons Def Poetry Jam??

I picked up the 4-7-10, 3 weeks ago. First and probably last time I'll ever do it.

I think that some in the media think the sox are "spinach" In all seriousness, I think this story would generate a lot of interest among Americans. It would give some creedence as to why France and Germany and Russia were so against the war. It would show the crookedness of the UN and how we can't rely on them to handle our problems. I think Americans want to know. There are plenty of people that can discuss it. I think people would much rather see the crookedness that was going on with oil for food then seeing a US Soldier shoot an injured terrorist over and over and over again.

Terrel increases his "dipshit quotient"
Controlled Chaos replied to Gene Honda Civic's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
What is wrong with this organization?? McQuarters can't afford a haircut or his condo!! Terrell can't afford a muzzle, stick um or car insurance!! What are these people doing with their money?? -
Whoa congrats witesoxfan!! that's not an easy feat. Last Wednesday I bowled a 277, 165, and 195 which shows you how all over the place I am. My average is 178 so I'm not used to consistantly bowling 200's. On my 277 game, I had a 4-7, 6-10 split in the first frame and only got 2 so that was open. Then I got 10 strikes in a row and got screwed in my 11th with a 9. Anyway, the pressure was off of me gettin a 300 since I opened in the first, but still I was nervous as hell up there from like the 8th frame on and I never get nervous. I felt like I did when I was younger in speech class and had to stand in front of the class. My best game before that was like a 245 and I think the most I ever had was 6 strikes in a row. So congrats...cause I know it ain't easy!!! Tonight, I try it again....hahaha yeah right.
