I took the stats listed(2004) from each team and tossed them into Excel so you can see how each team did in the draft.... QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 8, 2005 -> 07:24 PM) At least ISU didn't know Virginia was gonna blow major balls. That was a voctory over a top25 opponent at the time.

QUOTE(El Caballo @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 11:39 PM) Interesting... I love Brynes, he can play and he has LOTS of heart, which I think this team needed. Although u can never have too much heart. http://www.mayoclinic.com/invoke.cfm?id=HQ00623

I thought we needed a replacement for the Rumors thread wher you post those random tidbits from around baseball that don't really nead their own thread. Starting it off ---

QUOTE(Beastly @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 05:33 PM) What were the positives of the game and negatives? I think we need to give those to the people who don't feel like reading 22 pages and wasting 20 min. of our lives doing so. From what I saw from the regulars, we looked pretty good for ST... Postitives: Lefties looked good. Cotts and Munoz both worked out of jams, then worked scoreless innings on thier own. Kevin Walker looked pretty good. Rogowski looked impressive; at the plate: good eye, in the field: nice defensive play that turned two, on the bases: showed surprising quickness for such a big guy. JoBo: As many HRs today as the rest of the Sox have in all of ST. Negatives:4 outs on the basepaths. It's pretty tough to win baseball games when you're giving away outs. Today was like playing 7.2 innings vs. San Fran's 9..

White Sox Baseball Makin' outs at the plate.

We should get rid of Willie.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 6, 2005 -> 10:47 PM) Something that has not been brought up, maybe for good reason is, but could Gload play 3b at all? I think it could be worth a shot, no? Throws lefty = not a 3rd baseman

Rooney and Farmer were less than impressed with Iguchi's defense in the little bit of game that I heard.

Salary Cap Baseball
Gene Honda Civic replied to Gene Honda Civic's topic in PTC/Contest/Fantasy Board
That was pretty tough, $30M doesn't go very far. -
I created a Salary Cap baseball league...I don't know what the cap on number of teams is (I've never used the sporting news before, but it was the only Salary cap league I could find) Free for all to join... Here's the quoted text from the e-mail invite.

Jason give it up... Iowa doesn't deserve to be in the tournament. In fact, any team that loses 4(?) in a row to Northwestern should be excluded next year as well. Making the tourney might be enough to save steve alford his job, and that would be a tragedy. If they do somehow make the tourney, and Alford keeps his job, I'm calling foul on Bob Bowlby in both instances. -

QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Mar 6, 2005 -> 01:12 PM) i dont know what happened to dee brown and deron but they absolutely did not show up at the end of the game which hurt us The crowd got into D's head bigtime... after that airball in the first half, what did he have? one point the rest of the game? and when he had the ball he looked like he wanted to get rid of it as fast as possible to stop the hecklers. -
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 6, 2005 -> 11:19 AM) Good draft guys. I'm gonna go in and try and get the rosters straightened out in regards to keepers. Manny for edmonds please. Chisoxfn Edit: I'm trying to straighten out some of the others which are a lot more difficult.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Mar 6, 2005 -> 02:37 AM) For the past 10 years or so, RPI has definitely been one of the tools the Selection Committee uses. In fact, they seem to weigh it relatively heavily. The committe is well aware that the RPI in it's current form is only good for wiping your ass with the the paper it was printed on. -
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 6, 2005 -> 02:16 AM) So its not Clee? Cause I was looking at it thinking that it didn't quite look like him. No, It's Lee.... Pickering is on KC, but the pic just really looked like him. /overkill
