  1. .186/.234/.233 -- It's pretty clear that Willie should never face a lefty. EVAR.
  2. Yeah, there is a chance he could be around for '07, but I don't know what the '07 salary is. If the sox don't want Dye back in '07 they have to pay to not have him back, I'm speculating that that figure is $1.15M based on what I've heard.
  3. I also believe the Dye contract features about a 1.15M buyout in '07. I've seen the total guarenteed value at $10.15M, so that would indicate to me that the contract is 4+5+1.15=10.15
  4. Why should that come as a surprise? 9 of the 15 cabinent members have been shown the door, yet those who should have been fired have been either given promotions or been given a vote of confidence and 4 more years of job security.
  5. The Sox certainly would lead the league in strikeouts....
  6. He will hit behind Lee/Konerko -- Which ever one is still here.
  7. June = earliest and when he gets back he's not going to anything offensively anyway... .255 18HR 300 AB's sounds about right. Oh and I know there are gonna be a bunch of people who are gonna say that's a terrible projection, but I challenge you to show me anything that shows that 1) Frank is a quick healer 2) He puts up good numbers when he get back. He takes at least a year to fully get back into the swing of things. He may have a good September, but that may be too late after a .225 June-August.
  8. Frank's gonna be out for longer than anyone here realizes. PK or Lee is gone. That puts Carazy Carl as the 1st option @ DH to start the season, and possibly the first option in LF for all of the season.
  9. yeah reynoso is the obvios choice from the group that was just added.
  10. Currently the Sox payroll would be about $69-70M -- depending on arbitration rewards, who actually makes the roster, and if they choose to take some players to arbitration or not. Also the 40-man roster is full. Any signing would rewuire the sox to drop someone else from it. It should be noted that Scot Schoenweis is not on the 40-man on ChiSox.com. -- That's pretty telling about how confident KW is that he can work out a mutually benefitial deal with he and his agent (Boras) -- Any other player added is going to come via the trade. It could be a 2-for-1 type deal, that would free up both $ and roster space for another signing. So, taking all of that into account, Levine is right on.
  11. I should note that the 40-man is full now. Hermanson and Dye make 40 -- Any signing before the Rule 5 Draft this weekend would mean that one of those players protected would be available.
  12. They didn't get "let go". They were taken off the 40-man roster. They had to pass through waivers... Sox didn't think Wing would get taken, because of his injury. Yan, well, he was taking up space. The rangers picked them both up because they remembered them from scouting the system during the Carl everett deal.
  13. I don't know what team that was playing for the first 15 minutes, but thank god the #1 team in the country decided to show up and relieve them. Anybody else think Augustine was shooting like he has money on GU?
  14. Dye is Paul Konerko for the outfield.. He's not going to put up a gaudy average, but he's going to benefit greatly from the short porches, and should easily be penciled in for 30 HR's. I would not be surprised by 35. He plays good defense in RF, equal to, if not better than, Maggs. He'll ground into his fair share of DP's, and fits right along side the sox other 100K right handed sluggers. I think he'll put up right around career average numbers, plus some USCF inflation... .270+/.340/.490 -- 30 HR's 90+ RBI's 120K's
  15. Illinoise having some problems with GU, down 4 w/ 9:35 to play in the 1st
  16. Off season: Polanco, Koskie, Lieber, Perez Those already on the Sox: Rowand, Maggs, Garland, Cotts, Uribe, Gload
  17. Hillenbrand is going to be non-tendered. Glaus will end up at 1st -- he has no knees.
