That's because the air is so thin in Chicago ... Top two HR teams @ home in baseball.

My yahoo account get almost 500 junk mails a day. I don't even check it daily anymore. it's comical.

The funny part is when you remember the s*** that KW, the first, was putting prospective agents through. It's gonna turn out that he didn't even have one that could get him a solid contract... Nice job pops.

That's something I could look into for my blog.... Shoot me an E-mail in the offseason. I may do it. I'd compare them to the Cubs, who off the top of my head I think would be even worse(having a greater # of HR-only wins, or games) in that category.
-
I had responded to that, but soxtalk crapped out on me in IE... I downloaded the upgrade for Mozilla, I'm rocking that now.

I'm happy he's not going too. Though I don't think he was pushed extraordinarily hard this season in terms of workload. Remember even though he is a strikeout pitcher, leading the minors in that category, he was extremely efficient. I don't have the numbers to back it up, but I would imagine that his pitch #'s are not the most for the minors even though he was among the leaders in IP.

I've said it before I'll say it again. This organization suffers from verbal diarrhea. Words come out of their mouths like they can not control their mouths.

The 3rd baseman FA class of 2004 is going to be the deepest in years Beltre Glaus ARamirez Koskie Lowell(maybe)

http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/wsalteam/ These are about a week old. it says Crede has 13 or 7 Win Shares below average.
-
A little harsh, but no single player contributed to our demise more than did Joe Crede. Not even Timo. I just get on Timo because I have a feeling that Hawk keeps him as a pet in a cage in his basement at home.

too little. too late. Joe Crede = Timo Perez II

Dan I had 2 simillar stories from last night/today. Last night in the same tourney format, we were down to 5 people. Chip leader was at about 8K the other 4 of us between 1250 and 2K in chips. On 4 consecutive hands I was dealt pocket pairs of some sort. I was the short stack @ the time and the Chip leader was trying to bully everyone... I doubled up on 2 of the 4 vs. the chip leader, and took down large pots with large river bets at half my stack or all-in. So I was now chip leader in about 4 hands... All of the hands but one were me and the chip leader heads up because I was betting large amounts pre-flop(the blinds had not been raised too high yet). Finally on the fifth hand I was dealt A/K suited... flop come A/k/x the former chip leader goes all-in on the flop. I call, he shows A/J. Turn and river are blanks. In five hands I went from 1250 to over 10K. I had eliminated 2 more over the next few hands. Then wittled away the final players 2500 slowly as the blinds increased. Today... First hand of the tourney I get AA. I hate playing the first few hands of the tourneys because so many of the poeple just go all in to try and get a big stack early. I was 3rd to act, so I bet 500 (1/3 of my chips). I thought that was a good bet that indicated that I 1) had a hand. 2) this isn't going to be one of those All-or-nothing hands. I get 3 callers. Flop comes Axx with 2 hearts. I bet 500 (1/2 remaining stack). get one caller. So early I was the chp leader. Later in the same game, about 6 left. I've been chip leader for a while, Nobody sees a flop for the blind, I always raise the blind no matter what pot I'm in. I've got A/Ko, so I make a sizable bet, flop comes AKx. I was last to act, so when I saw the 2nd Stack go all-in, as he had done in other pots that I wasn't in. I was pretty sure he was trying to buy the pot.. I call. He show pocket K's River and turn don't help me. and I'm down to 120 bucks. with 6 remaining. Next hand I triple up with pocket 10's. so I'm at 360. This is where you realize what crappy players I'm playing with. There's 6 people left, and I'm still able to limp into hands from the big and small blinds. I fold to almost anybet. It would take maybe 2 rounds of blinds with bets to drive me out. well I stick around chosing my spots. Limping into a few hands. I double up 3 more times in total. I fight my way back to having 3000 at one point and eventually finish 2nd.

Here's a question? is it really slow sometimes for other people too?
-
Yeah I guess it works either way... I was trying to be obviously sarcastic... I don't know I missed the mark on that one... But the was intentional.
-
Ugh... all I can say is that was probably not a good idea.

First of all welcome to Soxtalk. Second.. Jetah is not even in the top 3 SS's in baseball, Certainly not the best SS on his own team, and not anywhere near the best players in all of baseball. Bonds

I had an e-mail conversation with the guy who does UZR -- Ultimate Zone Rating -- the stats don't come out until after the season.. He said that Jeter is currently putting together his best season defensively in years, but he's still below average. I was curious to see how Carlos Lee graded out... Carlos was slightly above average. A far cry from where he was when he broke in with the Sox as a defensive liability.
-
don't look now, but Santana is winning the Voting... I, stupidly, voted for him... The streak he is currently on is Koufax-like. In truth though, I wouldn't pick him. There's too much risk there. I would take bonds/pujols. I need to see another year of Santana's SK impression to vault him to the top pitcher in all of baseball.

Iraq is all better now. We won.

The point being both would have been FA's had the deal not gone down.

Davis is .190/.277/.286 in 42AB's during the Sox last 20 games. Other stellar performers over that time. Borchard - .143/.236/.408 in 49 AB's Valentin - .109/.196/.152 in 46 AB's Harris - .218/.246/.327 in 55 AB's Crede - .237/.274/.322 in 59 AB's Willie harris has outslugged everyone listed but borchard over that stretch...
-
Jeter is a joke.

Here's an old scouting report on Diaz when we traded for him. Some fun stuff in there. This guy was definitely high on Diaz.

You're right, I'm gonig to argu with you... A couple of guys who thrived in the pen but not in the rotation... Gagne. Ramon Ortiz. Danny Wright. OK that last one was very brief, and really shouldn't be included. Grilli's starts have not "kept us in games" the offense had... He left with 6 runs given up in 6IP last night. That's not keeping you in a game. The offense that has been supporting GRilli is allowing you to think that he has been keeping him in games... The reality is that the offense has been keeping Grilli from getting tacked with the loss. His (expected W/L) record is 1-3 compared to his actual W/L of 2-1. I'm not going to argue with you about pulling diaz from the pen, however. I argued loud enough that he never should have been put there in the first place. The fact that he's starting to show success, when he was set up to fail, (you remember pitching in relief on 1 days rest after throwing 98pitches, On short rest vs. the best hitting team in baseball for his second start, thrown against the Cubs twice in the span of 5 days) says a lot about the kid.
