Only one hand needed
We either have to lose the next 3 and have the twins win 1 of thier next 3 or lose 2 of the next 3 and have the twins win 2 of the next 3 or Win the next six straight. Those are our options guarenteed prevent the twins from Clinching on our home turf. Edit I just reread this -- boy was I wrong..

Sox VS Twins 9/16 Gamethread
Also I find it funny that we're criticizing Garland here, when the offense scored a total of 5 runs in the past 4 games.

I missed the play, so I can't partake in the "lovefest" tonight.

TOP FA PITCHERS?
Clement and his losing career and 2004 records obviously indicate that he should be uttered in the same breath as Pedro (no last name required) -- Not until he's known as Matt, in baseball circles for another reason other than being a welcome "mat" to a victory for the opposing team... NO.

Is anyone else waking up at 7am?
Woods is notoriously bad in the Ryder Cup, with his recent "slump", I wouldn't expect this to change.

Only one hand needed
...to count our Tragic number... We need to win the next six straight to prevent the Twins from clinching on our home field. P.S. ...I know Sox Ace is dying to toy with that title...

anyone else not agree with ozzies lineups
Agree completely... The only defense I can give Ozzie is that Carlos is hurting a little bit, so he's trying to give him some time off from teh hard turf in Minny by putting him at DH today. But Timo should never see the Line-up and Gload should only be used in the OF in emergencies. Oh and Backman would have been a much better choice for this team.

What should the Sox focus on getting....
Zito will be shopped -- They can only keep one of Durazo/Zito -- They think that Harden can fill Zito's shoes... With Saarloos and Blanton on the horizon, Zito is likely to be on the move.

Baj, Tracey mentioned
nice catch -- I just glossed right over it... Baj took the loss in the game where he stranded runners with the bases loaded.

Starting Rotation
FWIW, I read something from a blog that was quoting a guy who worked in the PCL last season. Wright was pitching for portland(?)(i don't remember which team) and supposedly he really figured it out towards the end of the season there, but he lost it when he came up in September. ATL must have seen him in the PCL late in the year and noticed something... I can't tell you what it was, but something did click, the only problem is it's likely to unclick once Wright leaves Mazzone's side.

Starting Rotation
Here's how I see KW's list.... Martinez - No Chance Pavano - No Chance Ortiz - Winnar. Perez - We'll chase him if Ortiz goes to the Yanks Radke - only on KW's radar if the others fall through ball> Here's my list 1 Radke -- Most consistent, always healthy. Least risk for the $$$ 2. Perez -- Cheapest option -- tons of potential 3. Pavano -- I think he can really suceed in USCF, arm trouble scares me 4. Martinez -- Too much money, I'd love to have him, but I'm realistic. It would hamper us in too many other areas. 5 Ortiz -- Gives up too many HR's and BB's -- Recipe for disaster at USCF

Sox v Min
Yeah, and over the past week when Timo has gotten so much love from the booth -- Timo Had an OBP of .250 and OPS just over .500 -- WOO HOO.

Sox announcers a little testy
They could at least be accurate when they whine... Again today they were trumpeting the Twins as being better at both picking up runners, and pitching over mistakes... Niether is true... Sox bat better W/ Risp and have allowed fewer unearned runs.

Sox v Min
As I stated in my blog yesterday, If I was Willie Harris, I would be very concerned about my job for next season. I love seing a guy with an OBP

Riddle me this
This is my criticism too... I mean do we really know what Neal can do? I trumpet him as being underrated, but there's a chance that he's not. I mean he very well could have let those runners score, though i think it's unlikely. The point is we don't really know what neal is capable of even after a full season in the majors.

Riddle me this
Only Marte and Shingo have a better WHIP (baserunners per 9) than Neal.
-
Sox announcers a little testy
Hawk and DJ came off line whiney losers last night... Stats don't support Hawks claim either -- He was droning on and on about waiting until runners got into scoring position b4 the Twins got a hit... Well the Sox actually hit better than the twins with RISP -- Hawk neglected to mention that.

Twinkees are good (gamethread)
Arnie was a little wild -- He was having trouble finding the tea-cup of a strike zone last night... Baj looked good -- He really had the hitters off-balance.

Riddle me this
at lest 12 -- I may have missed one -- that's at least 12 of the 33 runs he's allowed. BP hasn't updated their reliever report in over a month, but I'd think he's been among the relievers who recieved the least help from their counterparts.
