So -- Montreal leads Baseball in Productive out %, both offensively and defensively (pitching) -- They're still bad..

Range Factor is not a "bull s***" stat. But in order to fully appreciate it you must use it in context and with other defensive stats, and have a large sample size. RF is affected by those around you, (i.e @ SS, a rangey thrid baseman cutting off a ball that you could have played thus decreasing you balls fielded). I'll acknowledge that Timo may have had some balls taken from him by an overzealous Aaron Rowand, but he still has no range. Carl Everett -- That is all. If good means not comparing favorably with other 4th outfielders than I guess you're right.

I don't usually pimp my blog here, but I thought that many of you should read this. I finally broke down and did a hatchet job on Timo Perez. Any feedback welcome, I have thick skin. http://ss***men.blogspot.com/

I'm 95% sure that Boras is NOT crede's agent either. I'll doa search to try and confirm it.

The point being Gammons didn't come out and say this immediately after the trade... He's stroking Epstiens cock here. How often is what Gammons says actually true? Just another fluff piece about the BoSox. He's filled it with unverifiable crap in an attempt to paint the BoSawks in a better light... Could it be true? sure. Is it true? probably not. Such is the life of Peter Gammons. It's good to be king.

I'm not trying to argue with you here, as contract info is very hard to come by, but from what I can gather, It appears that Doogies option year isn't until 2006... Here's where I got the info -- This site is usually right on if it's listed in black. http://dugoutdollars.blogspot.com/2003_12_...rs_archive.html Who knows it could have a clause that allows the option year earlier if thier is a trade.

The MLBPA won't allow Doogie just to take a pay cut... Ala the Arod fiasco -- All contracts have to be worth the agreed terms. Restructuring requires being inflation adjusted.
-
Minkys***face has another year left on his contract... Damon @ 8MIL is a big risk. I read somewhere that Epstien has already indicated that BYK is not in the BoSox plans for next season... I think I heard him rumored with the Giants.

No but they did last season... And they still have Cy Mays under contract... He will be back pitching for them next season.

You're trying your best today aren't you? That's Flame bait.

Yeah it's sad that Kerry got the nomination based on his ability to beat Bush. Yet to me it seems that Edwards is a more charismatic likable guy, more Clintonesque, and would have a better chance dethroning the powers that be.
-
Yeah you're never right about anything.

Again I didn't see any of it, but last time out... His sequences left a lot to be desired in the first, especially to the "I-eat-Fastballs-for-breakfast" soriano... Soriano fouled off two fastballs, then looked for it on the third. He got it and put it in the cheap seats... Contreras knew that the splitter would have put him away there, but it was almost like he had to prove to coop that people can hit his fastball a long way.
-
I hate to say it, but I think I agree with Tony -- I didn't actually see Contreras pitch today, so I have no idea what his pitch selection/location and speeds were like. but given his past history I tend to think that it's just him being stubborn.

Felix Diaz (last 14.1 Innings) - 8H 1ER 1BB Jose Contreras (last 10 innings) - 19H 19ER 10BB /updated Edit: i guess I didn't "update" it :rolly
-
Control issues(more body control than pitch location) early in the inning, he was falling off hard to the 1st base bag... he looked out of control, like he struggled with his release point for a few pitches, then his mechanics looked out of whack.
-
The worst stretch I can find from Diaz -- 18IP 27H 20ER 6BB

Felix Diaz (last 12.1 Innings) - 7H 1ER 0BB Jose Contreras (last 10 innings) - 19H 19ER 10BB /updated

Yeah I used to hate that too last year -- This season, I think I've just grown used to it and tune them out...
