I went to 8.... 6 in April/May 1 in June 0 in July 1 in August none since. I saw Mark Buehrle pitch three times. He won all three games, by a combined score of 35-0 in those games. The Sox were 6-2 in games I attendended, and the losses were by Danny Wright and Scott Schoeneweis.

That's the one area he had to prove something to me. I knew he could hit, but his final two seasons in AAA, he wasn't exactly a selective hitter. That's not something you expect out of a guy who spent 3+ years at AAA.

Since "the streak" Carlos has batted .321 with a .615 Slugging percentage... No one in the AL can match that over that stretch.

Didn't want to start another thread, but the final Expos game in Montreal was stopped because some dips*** threw a golf ball on the field. There were 30,000 people in attendance... They should have run the "farwell to the Expos" promotion for every game.

I've been critical of Carlos in the past, but it's really become difficult to criticize this him in any phase of the game any more... For two straight years, he has hit for a good average, with decent power, being underrated defensively. The only real complaint you can have is about some boneheaded baserunning plays, but he's not the worst on the team in that area coughuribecough. He's approching Maggs-like consistency, and being consistent tends to go unnoticed. to Carlos -- Here's hoping he sticks around for at least another season.

It's hard to imagine what these people are going through. Good to hear that all is relatively well and you're coping as best you can.

It's not like they get to close half the last 12 games of the season against a pitching staff so bad, it's historical. The Reds Staff is among the top 10 worst in Runs Saved Above Average in the last 30 years. They have the worst RSAA of any team not playing half of their games in Coors Field for the last 30 seasons.
