Williams and Clarett No Goes
Can somebody with more knowledge than me explain the possibilities involved with the suplemental draft?

Dillon a PAT
They HAD two second round picks -- They traded one for Dillon, that leaves one, plus the 2 first rounders.
-
Attendance was only 11,000 today!!
White Sox attendance history Just support Jugg's claims.
-
Dillon a PAT
The Pats get a steal because they still have 2 first round picks, and another second rounder --- Give them the trophy now --- Actually I think I read that Colvin could be out all year again -- so injuries could still keep them from the superbowl -- They are even bigger favorites now.

League #2 official thread
Much like the sox, The Cheats held thier ground in the first week of the season, and then stormed through week & 2... Pitching was not as dominant as the first week, but kept them in the running -- Balance was the name of the game on the hitting end, Paul Konerko & I. Rod led the team in RBI's, with just 6 -- Raul Mondesi, riding the pine, put up 7.

New Starter in the Yank Series
Here's the whole colubus teams stat's -- The formatting in the HTML was terrible, so I couildn't easily chop out what I wanted -- He's had a great ERA, and K/9In. ratio in his first 2 appearences. He does have some walks, and not a lot of IP, so I would guess that he gets his pitchcount up early... If we're patient, we should be able to knock him around, and hopefully out early. ------------- 2004 Individual Statistics - Columbus Clippers Complete through Sunday, Apr 18 Batters BA SLG G AB R H TB 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS E S.Torrealba .462 1.000 4 13 3 6 13 1 0 2 4 0 3 0 0 0 D.Bragg .364 .545 9 33 8 12 18 4 1 0 2 4 9 0 0 1 D.Parrish .333 .500 3 6 2 2 3 1 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 T.Betts .294 .471 9 34 4 10 16 0 0 2 6 4 5 0 0 0 C.Cosme .290 .355 8 31 4 9 11 2 0 0 2 1 7 0 0 1 J.Deardorff .280 .520 7 25 5 7 13 0 0 2 6 2 7 1 0 2 F.Escalona .280 .360 8 25 1 7 9 2 0 0 5 4 1 0 1 1 H.Bush .250 .292 7 24 3 6 7 1 0 0 3 1 4 1 0 0 S.Fasano .250 .500 5 12 1 3 6 0 0 1 2 1 3 0 0 0 B.Myrow .250 .643 8 28 3 7 18 3 1 2 4 5 6 0 0 1 J.Rodriguez .222 .444 8 27 4 6 12 1 1 1 3 2 7 1 0 1 M.Vento .182 .303 8 33 2 6 10 1 0 1 1 0 5 0 0 0 M.Kelly .077 .077 4 13 1 1 1 0 0 0 0 1 2 0 0 0 Pitchers W-L ERA G GS CG GF SH SV IP H R ER HR BB SO WP C.Bean 0-0 0.00 3 0 0 1 0 0 6.0 2 0 0 0 2 7 0 H.Izquierdo 0-0 0.00 4 0 0 2 0 0 6.1 3 0 0 0 1 4 0 J.Padilla 1-0 0.00 1 0 0 0 0 0 2.0 1 0 0 0 1 1 0 B.Prinz 0-0 0.00 2 0 0 1 0 0 3.0 1 0 0 0 2 3 0 A.Graman 0-2 0.90 2 2 0 0 0 0 10.0 5 5 1 0 6 14 0 S.Proctor 1-0 1.29 4 0 0 1 0 0 7.0 4 1 1 1 4 8 0 N.Rodriguez 1-0 1.50 1 1 0 0 0 0 6.0 3 1 1 1 1 6 0 S.Marsonek 0-0 2.25 3 0 0 1 0 1 4.0 2 1 1 1 2 2 0 J.Mann 1-0 3.38 4 0 0 1 0 0 5.1 8 2 2 1 0 4 0 B.Halsey 0-0 6.52 2 2 0 0 0 0 9.2 11 7 7 0 4 6 1 J.Rodriguez 0-1 7.71 1 1 0 0 0 0 4.2 7 4 4 0 2 6 0 R.Ramirez 0-2 12.91 2 2 0 0 0 0 7.2 10 11 11 3 7 8 1 A.Beal 0-0 13.50 1 1 0 0 0 0 4.0 8 6 6 0 1 4 0 M.Thurman 0-0 15.43 2 0 0 0 0 0 2.1 5 4 4 1 2 2 0

Corpseball
It's definitely not DEAD, but it is suffocating slowly... I've seen glimpses of people takin' homerun cuts, which I'm not comleetly against.. the one thing that I do have a problem with is resorting to corpsebll on the basepaths... Frank had a couple of good first-to-thirs yesterday, and the Olivo "triple" and Harris "double" today were encouraging... But I have see two glaring mistakes -- Not even mistakes really -- They were huge mental lapses and complete lack of effort -- In Timo's first AB of the season he grounded back to the pitcher, and weakly took a few steps towards first, never dropping the bat, never making it to first.. -- He starteed the next game -- Maybe Ozzie lit a fire uder his ass, but he has been relatively productive since... In yesterday's game, Carlos was caught not busting down to second, on a bunt attempt, and when the throw was to his bag, he didn't even bother to slide.. -- He had one more AB that game, and was not pinch hit for, and started todays game in left field -- I didn't see any lackadazical(sp?) play from carlos today, so maybe ozzie got to him too. Or, better yet he realized his own mistake and learned not to repeat them, something he's shown he knows how to do with his improved outfield defense in the past few years. No Corpseball is not dead, but the key to our season will be not letting us get bit by the corpseball bug, and how ozzie or the players deal with it when it does bite...

2nd Sunday of Easter Game Thread
It does make it's appearences, like in yesterdays' game when carlos didn't hustle into second, or even bother to slide, on a bunt to sacrifice him over late in the game for an insurance run.

New Starter in the Yank Series
It'll help that he's a lefty... I took a look at his ST stats, and he had and ERA over ten, with 5IP, in 3 appearences... From that I gather that he didn't see much "A" game action, and was quickly optionned... He's not old, so that decreases the chances that he's a soft-tossing "junk-baller" (ala Moyer) that we've always had trouble wit in the past. I expect us to put up some decent numbers on him. It would help to have Frank's bat in the line-up, for both his patience and ability to hit lefties.

Oh No!!!!!!!!
I can't believe no one has mentioined the curtain call sam-me took in the first inning of the game, while losing 3-1.

any word on Frank yet?
I think you miss understood me.... This is McGruff and this is McGriff

Oh No!!!!!!!!
Dunn had the major league lead in HR's last year after 2 weeks, with seven or eight... I promptly traded him for Carlos Lee straight-up in one of my fantasy leagues... Best trade I made last year... Dunn will slow down... So will He sop Choy he had a bunch of homers in april lasst season too.

any word on Frank yet?
I'd rather have McRuff than McGriff... At least the former could take a bite out of crime on the south-side.

Call it a hunch
Here's what happens, if Maggs is signed before the Yanks series: Sox get loads of good PR. If the deal gets done before tuesday, Tuesday is a near sellout, the rest of the yankees series we draw well, and if the Sox continue to play well, and the weather holds up the fans WILL come out in much larger numbers than in recent years. Marinotti won't even be able to write something bad about this deal. The same fans who pay to see sammy at @17MIL on a 90 loss team, are the ones who'd pay to see maggs at 14+MIL on a 90+ win team. The signing shows a comittment to winning, to the average fan. To the more seasoned fan, they see the sox farm system is ripe with young OF'ers, and the signing would be largely a PR move, with maggs only spend part of the contract on the southside. He would likely be moved to a bigger market for an arm. Koch and valentin are off the books next season, konerko's only got one more year?i think? what's lees contract situation@ 9MIL i hardly think he is overrated.

Brando, you can't have it both ways... You want the fans to come out to the park in record numbers, while you stay home,... And you want the sox to not resign thier best player, and fan favorite at the same time.

That gun was all over the place... In his first inning of work, he was reading 91 on that gun, but Hawk & DJ said the radar at the park had him at 96 on the 91 MPH.... The FSN gun was a about as accurate as DW.
