  1. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:19 PM) Perhaps not, but Buehrle has definitely had his share of bad games before. And three bad starts isn't enough to suggest that "he's lost it." 30 hits. 24 runs. 14 innings! Kyle Lohse laughs at that line.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:18 PM) He's referring to Andruw Jones. We should get Johan Freakin Santan. His team is farther out of the playoff race than Jones'
  3. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:16 PM) a CF who hits .270 with 35-40 bombs would be an upgrade over Anderson. Who is this mythical figure?
  4. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:12 PM) Yeah, he's pitching like crap right now. But you're acting like it's never happened before. Can you find a stretch in his career where he has an ERA of 14 over three games? Seems to me, this hasn't happened before.
  5. Buehrle's July Numbers (may have already been posted. I'm not checking.) 3 starts, 14.1 innings, 24 R, 22 ER, 30 H, 2 W, 8 K. 13.81 ERA. And one of those starts was against the worst offense in the universe.
  6. yeah. you'll probably need to buy a wireless card for the one computer -- I'm assuming you ran a line straight from the modem to the comp, then the wireless router All you'd need to do is get a wireless card for the desktop (again I'm assuming) that was previously hardwired.
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 12:29 AM) This product that was on TV was available for four easy payments of $19.95. I would like a product that was available for three easy payments and one complicated payment. We can't tell you which payment it is, but one of these payments is going to be hard. The depressing thing about tennis is that no matter how much I play, I'll never be as good a a wall. I played a wall once. They're relentless. I used to work in a fire hydrant factory. You couldn't park anywhere near the place. Doing a little work around the house. I put fake brick wallpaper over a real brick wall, just so I'd be the only one who knew. People come over and I'm gonna say, "Go ahead, touch it...it feels real."
  8. That's about as good as you can ask for from Harrell. 11-2 GB/FB ratio. 5K's vs. 2 BBs. Sounds like a solid outing to me.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 09:09 PM) Thought some of the posters in here would find this interesting....on the post game show on Comcast, they just reported the NY Daily News rumor about the Sox shopping Garcia or Vaz. With the way the Sox organization works, they wouldn't be having Comcast state this unless there was something to it. I was going to make a note on the blog, if McCarthy didn't make an appearance today, tomorrow, to expect a move sooner rather than later. The 55 pitches he threw on Sunday helped him get a little stretched out, and I wouldn't have been surprised to see a move made this weekend, with Mac starting against the Tigers.
  10. For future reference: Times when it's OK to use 4 pitchers in an inning: NEVER /thank you.
  11. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 03:50 PM) That doesn't matter. Freddy is nowhere near as bad as this board is making him out to be. If I was to ask you to rank your starting pitchers, including McCarthy, by their likelihood to succeed in the second half and 2007, how would you rank them? Garcia's junk is 's***ted on' for good reason.
  12. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jul 13, 2006 -> 04:08 PM) I need some more advice guys. How long do you think it'll take me to drive from O'Hare into town on a the Saturday morning. I'm planning on leaving the hotel, picking a hire car up from O'Hare, driving back to the hotel and then getting to the game ( now 12.20 pm ) via the train. As I had hoped to meet some of you fellas before the game, do you think I'll have time? Or would I be better booking my pick up time for early evening? If you're staying at one of the O'Hare hotels, just blue line it to the Loop, then transfer there. Somebody at the Hotel should be able to help you figure the logistics of it.
  13. Harrell, while having the better overall numbers, has been very average the last month. Russell, who's a couple years older, needs to be pushed. Harrell just needs to continue to improve control, while advancing a level per year.
  14. QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 11:28 AM) "Proving ONCE again there IS more than corn in Indiana!" QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 11:38 AM) Bin Laden f***ing hates corn. WordUpThome: I ENJOY THE TASTES OF COBBED CORN
  15. "one of the LCS" I wonder which series they'll show, the Bos-NY series, or Arizona-StL. Seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if they included some language that mandated participation by the Sawks and Yanks.
  16. It's wrong. Those two incedents happened about 24 hours apart. back in may.
  17. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 10, 2006 -> 04:48 PM) That was one of the stranger things I've seen in a while. I don't think I've seen Cliff throw a change up in his whole career with the Sox, all the sudden he comes in, in the 19th inning and throws 4 in a row to start off the ab?? Very interesting. I expect him to only use it against LH. It looked like an effective pitch against LH, but he'll still be FB-slider away to righties.
  18. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jul 10, 2006 -> 04:13 PM) Now Greg's numbers did not include caught stealings and pickoffs. fixed.
  19. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jul 10, 2006 -> 02:28 AM) That is a tribune pipe dream. Well the Trib does own the Cubs, but more specifically, it was a Phil Rogers pipe dream. Remember this off-season when he wrote about the Cubs/Sox/Orioles deal that moved Prior,Garland,Patterson,Neifi,Gload, and others for Tejada and Bedard?
  20. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 10:33 PM) Take a look at the amount of stolen bases for Charlotte, wow. Owens has 28 on the year (!) and Rogowski stole 2 for 21, now that's surprising. And Sweeney stole home.... RazorBall -- He should get a shot in the next year or two. Maybe with WAS next year, heck even KC. He gets the most out of his clubs.
  21. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:02 PM) Nothing to do with a realy great, hot bat then? There will be faster pitches, with more movement on them, being thrown Monday by the BP pitchers in the HR derby.
  22. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:53 PM) I hope whichever outfielder is under the next homer given up by Garcia shows Freddy up by tossing his arms in the air and staring at him. Mack ?
  23. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 11:32 PM) Carter with HR #7. It's so hard to imagine he could do so well in rookie ball and struggle so much in Kanny. Hopefully the Sox saw something he was doing wrong and fixed it during extended spring training. I just hope he's not the next Schnurstein or Francisco Hernandez. I suspect he's not, given his size compared to those two, and he's producing more than them also. Without witnessing him first-hand, I'd say the Sox saw something in him, which is why they started him off at Kanny at 19. He only got 50 ABs, so it's not like the Kanny failure should weigh heavily on his future.
