  1. Jeremy Reed broke his thumb diving for a ball in the 11th inning today.
  2. QUOTE(RudyLawRules @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 08:11 PM) I'm guessing this dude holds a grudge from the Gord Ash/Sirotka deal. Law was with the BJ's for all of about 18 months, none of which was served under the Gord Ashe regime. But the rest sounds logical.
  3. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 02:55 PM) C'mon now. Let's not start comparing Buehrle's body of work with that of Garland. Buehrle got ROCKED today. Period. But he's still Mark Buehrle. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 02:57 PM) My god, talk about comparing apples to oranges: maybe when JG has half the career success of MB? But the two things that Garland has been most derided for in his career are giving up the big inning, and not pitching over poor defensive play. Yet it's Mark Buehrle who has 3 career 7 run first innings now, and is well on his way to his 4th consecutive season allowing double digit unearned runs. All I'm saying is let's be equitable in our use of lameass nicknames. No free passes!
  4. Hypothetical? How many threads would ABOZ have created if this outing was a JG outing? When does MB get a clever nickname like Judy? After all, he's the pitcher who allows the truly big innings, and never pitches over the defensive lapses behind him.
  5. Contreras, Jenks, Dye, Thome Buehrle (maybe)
  6. Tom York spells his name wrong twice.
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 03:39 PM) This Figgy rumor has to be true, I don't think I can watch another game with Podsednik in leftfield. It probably is true, but more than anything, he would be a replacement for Anderson this season. He could shift to left next year, with Pods being shipped out for something of value. But if he's brought in this year, Anderson and Mackowiak, not Pods, will be the ones missing out on playing time.
  8. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 12:28 PM) They charge for some ads (job postings and apartment/house listings) but most ad posts are still free. Everything is free in Chicago. They only charge for certain stuff in their larger markets (SF, NY, LA?)
  9. Hernandez' GB/FB took a hit tonight
  10. Harrell pitched a perfect inning in relief in the High-A All-Star Game tonight. 3 groundball outs.
  11. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:43 AM) I don't believe that for 1 second honestly....Tracey was getting some serious heat from Ozzie. It had NOTHING to do with Montero being ready or not, theres ALWAYS a way to slow the game down enough to give a warming pitcher time. Nice try Ozzie. Ozzie's quotes are laughable to anyone who saw the game. All he's doing is protecting his own ass so that he doesn't get a fine and suspension for ordering a beaning.
  12. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:39 AM) Consider this the intitiation for young Tracey into the baseball frat and he failed. This team is not a bunch of cookie cutter pussies, they are a team of grinders who play for each other. That's funny, I visited a frat that made cookie cutter pussies. My dad totally owns a dealership.
  13. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:31 AM) His job was to plunk the guy, and restore order to the game. Now it is left unfinished, so tomorrow the game is possibly changed. You do understand the situation, right? Tracey would have been immediately ejected. Ozzie and Showalter would have been on the field in seconds, if not both entire benches. Who knows how Blalock would have reacted. If Tracey hits Blalock, it only makes an already tense situation worse. Showalter is a card-carrying A#1 asshole, who absolutely hates Ozzie Guillen. You don't play into his hands. The situation was only going to get worse, not better.
  14. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 11:58 PM) Listen: Showalter obviously dislikes the White Sox and Ozzie, and it's pretty clear that he ordered Pierzynski thrown at. You know why? Because he wanted to get under our skin. Mission f***ing accomplished. This is avoided if Ozzie doesn't throw a hissy fit like a four-year-old, or if we don't decide to start throwing at the Rangers to prove how big the team's collective dick is. And on top of that, Ozzie completely demoralizes Tracey, who could help us during the season if Politte doesn't get better. Make a point this way: Win tomorrow, take the series. Texas won't be in the playoffs, and we probably will. Let them feel content on the golf course while we're still playing in late October.
  15. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:08 AM) Is there a video feed or anything yet? Was it shown on the Texas feed? Yeah. You want to watch the Texas feed. Comcast sanatized it. Why isn't Vazquez being sent down? What about Montero? What would Guillen had done if McCarthy failed to get the 'job' done in that situation? Tracey is a lamb for the slaughter of Ozzie's misplaced anger. Sad, really.
  16. QUOTE(daa84 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 09:45 PM) exactly...anyone remember buerhle plunking someone on the orioles as retaliation and breakin up his streak of goin 6 innings at like 48? yeah thats one example different scenario though. No warnings were issued, and Buehrle was tossed. The anger should be directed at Cuzzi who forces the Sox hand. Not Vazquez or Tracey. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 09:47 PM) I thought I heard Tom Grieve say that he'd meet Crede outside of the clubhouse after the game. LOLZ
  17. I don't see anyone complaining about Joe Crede sliding spikes high into second base in the 9th inning of an 8-run game.
  18. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 09:25 PM) I'm not sure what the exact bean ball numbers are but I can tell you there has been a lot of f***in times where the sox have got warned for getting hit and nothing else. It gets very frusterating at times. There was an even larger disparity last year. Just win. Winning is the best revenge. I didn't hear anyone complaining about how the HBPs were handled in the Cleveland series. Anyone speaking up now is being a hypocrite.
