Shut up! What happened during the Cleveland series? Count the HBPs for and against the White Sox. Everyone, not just Nuke, get your facts straight. It was an isolated incedent. Jeez, you'd think Pudeatya hit your mother the way some of you are reacting. It's baseball, and iunder the current warning system, you have to leave the score to be settled another day. Have a long memory.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 08:43 PM) I.Don't.Care. You stand up for your guy based on principle. Let the team pick you up, after you pick up your teammate. If Javy hits somebody, it's and automatic 2 game suspension for Ozzie, and an automatic 6-gamer for Vazquez. If you'd rather show how macho you are to William Nathaniel Schowalter, than win a division and roll into another postseason, you hit someone.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 09:06 PM) Why didn't Vazquez retaliate? I'm not going to entirely blame Tracey. We all know his control is suspect. Just another weak minded White Sox pitching prospect unable to record outs when told, or hit batters when told. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 09:07 PM) So, would you say Tracey was another successfull showing from our minor leagues? Give it a rest. The last two Sox pitchers without balls were Esteban Loaiza and Mike Jackson. Niether should be considered a White Sox prospect.. But keep grinding that axe. It might get sharp sometime.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 09:18 PM) I think for the most part they are doing what they can to keep him from coming to us. My guess is a lot of teams try this. I wish we could get him back, but it looks like the Rangers will keep him. you know what, its a freaking joke...he's pitched in 5 games (4 starts) in AA and has made a start in AAA. He's been pitching since May 20th and its now June 12th. I'd have to think he needs to be activated pretty darn quickly. You can have a 30-day rehab

On Friday, Ryan Meaux tossed a No No
Gene Honda Civic replied to Chisoxfn's topic in FutureSox Board
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 07:57 PM) It wasn't just a no no, but a complete game, although he didn't pitch the entire game (he did start). Cheat head asplode -
QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 11:31 AM) The man recently failed a drug test. He's failed as many drug tests as Lance Armstrong, which is to say the only evidence of any failed drug tests have come from disreputable newspapers who have stand to gain circulation by printing erroneous allegations. Until the governing body that oversees these drug tests comes out and says they've failed, I don't believe any of it.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 02:10 PM) Steroids are against the law. BTW Murdering a teamate is not against the explicit ruleset of Major League Baseball Rules, however I think if you get accused of Murder of a teammate you will get released and not get your money. Grimsley tested positive in 2003. He recieved FULL payment then. He has not tested positive for steroids since. He admitted that he's switched to HGH, which must be made from the blood of freshly killed babies, hence the murder comparison. Seriously, it's such a dumb argument. Daryl Strawberry put all of his money (illegally) up his nose. That didn't stop anyone from giving him money. Rafael Furcal drives around with an open 40 oz. as his passenger multiple times and gets huge contracts. Julio Lugo and Sammy Sosa smashed up their wives/girlfriends' heads, but they continued to get paid. The only comparison you have is Denny Naegle, but he played for the Rockies. All you need to know about the Rockies is in the other thread. He signed some kind of morals clause that he could only be caught with expensive hookers, not $40 whores. If Grimsley wants his money, Grimsley will get his money. The players union will make sure of it.

QUOTE(VAfan @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 06:46 PM) They wouldn't give up Cameron for peanuts. I wouldn't give up a potential star either, but I would give up a pitcher like Lopez and an outfielder like Jerry Owens in a second. NEWSFLASH! Lopez = Not a prospect. Not even a good pitcher. Owens = 4th outfielder, who's hitting .225 with zero power in his first exposure to AAA pitching. That package is less than peanuts. It's more in the neighborhood of pressed peanut sweepings. mmmmmmmmmm.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 06:41 PM) Have you ever heard a catchier tune? I find my self singing that song constantly. Everytime I get in an elevator for the last week, I've done a little dance and started singing. I either draw really strange looks, or someone will say "I hate that commercial."

Wakin' up.... I like wakin' up with Johnny B.

The Sox now have had 6 of their draft picks from the '02 draft make the major leagues. That's 50% more than any other team in baseball.

What round were our current Sox drafted in?
Gene Honda Civic replied to Timoperezrulez's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Konerko and Pierzynski were HS catchers drafted in '94 in the 1st and 3rd rounds, respectively. -
Brian Anderson sucks

WTF was OZUNA doing?! He doesn't go on the first two pitches. And doesn't go on the third until VMart has the ball

QUOTE(Beastly @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 09:26 AM) Question; what pitch does he keep trying to hit that he can't? Baseballs

Aboz made better posts in '05. I liked the '05 Aboz better.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 10:52 PM) Not a secret that Harry and Mac do not get along. Two very different personalities and they clash every now and then. I'm sure something had to happen at commercial that was bad for them not to return for the last 90 mins. I may have to call my sources. It really wasn't between Harry and Mac. It was between Harry and somebody above him at ESPN1000 (I wasn't paying close enough attention. It wasn't until they didn't come back that I realized what had happened) Mac got caught in the crossfire.

Quietly hitting his way through the minors
Gene Honda Civic replied to Cerbaho-WG's topic in FutureSox Board
Nanita hasn't gotten a lot of love because he probably will end up as a 4th outfielder. That, and I've never heard any reports on his defense. I've definitely had my eye on him. He got off to a slow start this season, but has caught up to the Southern League. He's got a shot. -
QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 11:34 PM) It's time to give Sweeney a chance in the bigs in CF until we can get a deal done... I'm almost sure he could hit about .100 points higher then Anderson... They obviously don't get CIU in Montana.

M, J, & H just got yanked 90 minutes before their show was scheduled to end. J had the day off, and M & H were talking about him. H brought up that J had a bad habit of leaving his cell phone on while on the air. H said that, in the past, he had asked one of the higher ups to call J's phone when they were on the air, to help him make a point. He then pointed out that M had done the same thing to him eariler. He then said that he couldn't respect a guy who treated two of his host so differently. They went to commercial, and never came back. Carmen and Silvy are on now.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 04:25 PM) I wish the Pads had a reliever or two they could give us, along with Cameron to make things interesting. And I think the Pads would give up a whole lot for Fields, however, I don't see them having what we would need. Yeah, I think for that trade to be fair, we'd have to take Cameron (without SD picking up any of his salary) and Carillo for Fields. Carillo probably wouldn't do us much good this year. He was recently promoted to AAA, but when he was promoted, his AA stats were worse than Broadway's (and they played in the same league.
-
QUOTE(beck72 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 03:34 PM) IMO, SD would have to drop out of the race for Cameron to be dealt. Or they'd have to get another major league piece to their team instead of prospects They really need a 3B. I wish we had one who was leading the IL in OPS.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 01:52 AM) 94-98 sounds a bit high, but 92-95 sounds better. I saw 90 multiple times out of him tonight, but he threw his sinker a lot. I think he's a guy who can go mid 90s but doesn't use his fastball that much. The comcast gun is slow, not as slow as the WCIU/WGN gun, but it's still a few ticks slow. He was probably 92-94 tonight, but that is also with just 2 days rest after starting and pitching 7 innings on Monday.
