TA suspension reduced to 5 games, begins Friday
2 HRs since Memorial Day, can’t play RF, can’t bat against LHP, must burn a bench player if a LH reliever is in or late in a close game. Sheets should only be on the active roster if Eloy or Andrew are on the IL, and only because they have no viable alternatives. His platoon bat is too weak to be on any contending roster.

TA suspension reduced to 5 games, begins Friday
I’d IL Eloy unless he can for certain play this weekend, or send Sheets down. Would want Thompson available with the large outfield plus Roberts’ recent time off. I agree Elvis likely stays through year end, Hahn trying to avoid 100 Ls.

Sosa will be called up today. No word on who will be sent down (Remillard / Thompson) or released (Elvis).

Fire Rick Hahn
Well, Pedro's thread just got bumped, but this has a higher priority on the to do list.

A Sobering Thought...
Jerry's dime, Hahn's dance floor, as Chet Chit Chat would say. Hahn makes the decisions, Pedro is the one who faces the questions publicly. He may agree with the call, but doesn't have much of an option, IMO.

Bridgeport school renamed after Minnie Miñoso
We used to park near that school and walk to Comiskey Park, pre City/Jerry money grab days. Convenient for stops into McCuddy's with my grandfather pre/post game. Hope the kids enjoy the change and learn about Minnie's history in beisbol and his Medias Blancas.

Thief steals car from White Sox star’s girlfriend near Wrigley Field
It was even more sketch back in the day. Jim Murphy bought Ray's Bleachers and other properties in the area during the 1980s and made serious bank as the neighborhood gentrified. I lived in Lakeview West / Saint Ben's (Damen & Waveland) for several years in my 20s/30s, the second of three homes (Belmont & Central and Old Norwood Park).

It's the best methodology I could establish to quantify Hawk's "sabre-rattling" metrics.

TA suspension reduced to 5 games, begins Friday
I will offer up year end and career TWTW (The Will To Win) scores for the entire team at the conclusion of the season. Game avoidance these remaining six weeks should be a goal of players looking to improve their TWTW scores. However, both Tim and Yoan are still outperforming the team both during their career and this season. Current overall record 48-73 .397 Tim Anderson (In 41-51 .446 vs. Out 7-22 .241) Yoan Moncada (In 26-31 .456 vs. Out 22-42 .344) Jake Burger (-15) wasn't the TWTW panacea (Final 2023 score In 35-53 .398 vs. Out 8-11 421). TWTW > fWAR, at least for Hawk

A Sobering Thought...
Since 2005-2006, the last fun White Sox period for me was 2019-2020, and the Children of the Corn game with Tim & Acting Manager Miguel Cairo. This mostly depressing season will be worth it if there is finally a new FO, and/or if God makes a change in ownership. If not, then I am joining the penguin.

Luis Robert Jr. was the only player that came to mind.

$75M = One of the worst White Sox LF Seasons
Benintendi $75M. Jaime Navarro $15M. Not in the same universe Kenny Williams acquired Adam Dunn two seasons before Rick Hahn took over.

A Sobering Thought...
It will be worse if they try to compete in 2024. Will be same results as 2013-2016. Robert and Cease are the two legitimate pieces, have a couple other good players and that is it. Need a new FO, assess what they have during 2024, make adjustments, acquire prospects, attempt to legitimately compete for the first time since 2005 in 2026. If they keep Hahn and or Clevinger, I'll take another sabbatical away from White Sox baseball.

Thief steals car from White Sox star’s girlfriend near Wrigley Field
I've always lived within city limits, never been outside of the city for more than 2 1/2 weeks. Always planned to die here (of natural causes). Still staying but took time to look into alternatives. Old enough to know never say never in life. My Aunt is my only living family member still here. Used to walk / take public transportation nearly everywhere within city limits with few exceptions. I've avoided a much broader section of the city since May 31, 2020. Hoping at some point things improve. Perhaps I'm as naïve as hoping the same for the Chicago White Sox.

I'm sure some of the players were preoccupied after a Sox' players girlfriend's car was stolen near Wrigley a few hours before the game today.

No, but Jerry Narron returned there this season. Beyond McCann, the Sox actually acquired / played decent catchers beyond DH Grandal during his stint here. Seby made significant defensive improvements while Jerry was here, you had McGwire as well who is a solid defensive catcher. Sucked that cheap ass Jerry never replaced Narron after he left. He only expanded staff because of Tony. The White Sox need guys like Jerry Narron to develop the talent they acquire.

Rick Hahn on the Madrigal trade and resume of his replacement. 1:40: "We wanted to find some stability day in and day out for the lineup in that second base position. Cesar provides us with someone who not only, he obviously comes with a gold glove resume and has found a nice power stroke over the course of the season. As a switch hitter, he provides professional at-bats to go with the solid defense and is a nice balancing factor for this lineup. 217 PA, 3 HR, 0.1 fWAR 2:23: "Lastly Craig Kimbrel, Obviously the resume speaks for itself. As I discussed with Craig, a few weeks ago Kenny and I asked each other of all the players expected to be moved, let's assume we could only acquire one, who would it be? He and I had the same answer, and that was the player we acquired today." 23 IP 5.09 ERA 0.0 fWAR

2023 Chicago White Sox TWTS (The Will To Save) through August 16 TWTS Score / Player (Saves / Blown Saves) 4 Kendall Graveman (8/4) - Joined Jose Abreu on the Houston Astros 2 Gregory Santos (4/2) - Second blown save recorded tonight 1 Liam Hendriks (1/0) - Hope he can return at some point with the White Sox 1 Jimmy Lambert (1/0) - Given one opportunity, "nailed it". 1 Brian "Everyday" Shaw (1/0) - Mid season claim, has second best current roster TWTS score. 1 Jesse Scholtens (1/0) - Is now a starter because Rick Hahn is total s%*# and there are no pitchers here. 0 Kenyan "Loose Lips" Middleton (2/2) - Zero, same as his fWAR. Now a pathetic last place Yankee. -1 Tanner Banks (0/1) - As near worthless as your money sitting in the bank. -1 Alex Colome (0/1) - Lasted four games here. -1 Jake Diekman (0/1) - A terrible 2022 Trade Deadline acquisition. -1 Reynaldo Lopez (4/5) - Joined Lucas to join the Los Angeles Angels -1 Lane Ramsey (0/1) - Seems like a nice guy. Hopefully better days are in store. -3 Aaron Bummer (0/3) - Has pitched well, but can't catch a break in many instances. -5 Joe Kelly (1/6) - He is even more pathetic as a human being than he is at TWTS. Dodgers deserve this s%*#.

I saw that too, but he only had 16 pitches over the five outs. They literally have Santos (1.8 fWAR), Bummer (1.1 fWAR) and six "guys" in the bullpen post trade deadline, and honestly not much more than that before the tanking trades. White Sox August 16 bullpen: CL Santos 1.8 SU Bummer 1.1 Guy Ramsey 0.2 Guy Shaw 0.1 Guy Honeywell 0.0 Guy Banks -0.1 Guy Cronin -0.2 Guy Lambert -0.5

Hard to win a game when you have as many batters over .700 OPS as under .600 in the lineup. Dylan Cease has a .875 OPS. While I don't think that is sustainable, I think there is a solid chance he would hit in the .600s, possibly .700, if he was a regular DH.

That’s really cool. I saw the $29.99 price, and while the season is near over this year may subscribe next year, despite the fact Jerry gets up to one of the $30 dollars. I really enjoyed going to games in 2019. The park was empty, could sit downstairs whenever I wanted, and Ricky was making progress with a lot of the core prospects. Hope we see similar progress in Chicago in 2025, with a new front office and legitimate competitive window in the second half of the decade.

Middleton’s Wife Said The White Sox Kicked His Kids Out Of Daycare
Points 7 and 8 were the only two that materialized, 7 in a bad way. 10 Reasons Why the Sox will win the AL Central in 2023: Pedro - As bad to worse. Juan Castro - Somehow worse. Better Health - About the same. Eloy at DH - Still substandard. Vaughn at 1B - Work in progress. OF Defense - Colas is bad. Angry Tim - LOLz A New Junior - Yes!!! The rotation - Bottom 1/3. The Division - It does suck, but the Sox are by far the worst underperforming team in the AL (Mets and Caulfields in NL).
