yes, i loved Allen, but he was a premadonna. Got special treatment, we'd never know if was going to show up until you saw the top of his red helmet walking back and forth in the dugout. He was a talent extradinaire. Never went to spring training, never took batting practice and still put up great numbers. If he wasn't beaten into the ground unfairly by the Philly fans, he'd be in the HOF and stayed in Philly for his whole career. Ther racist Philly fans would throw things at him when he was at 1st Base. That's why he started wearing a helmet on defense. They literally had to trade him to save his life. Look up the story on what happened. It was disgusting.

Even though we received Dick Allen for Tommy John, in hindsight Allen lasted 2 years and Tommy John goes on to win another 200 games with 3 20 win seasons and 288 total wins and a whopping 162 complete games and of course the poster boy for the surgery named after him. I’d love 2 TJ’s on my staff!!!

That’s because we had 2 great GM’s that knew how to deal. Today we have a moron who traded away Madrigal and Huer for Kimbrel, TLR used him as a 7th or 8th inning replacement sometimes in the 6th. We have idiots today who are out of touch with the world. Hemond was the best and had balls, brought in Dick Allen, which created excitement for a couple of years. Chuck Tanner as a manger I believe. Ed Shorts moves bringing us Tommy Agee who went on to become part of the miracle Mets of 1969 and bringing back Romano. Hemond bringing us Seaver was brilliant also. Now we’re stuck with an aging owner and a handcuffed GM. Even if he wasn’t handcuffed he’d still screw things up. Sale for Moncada??? Madrigal for Kimbrel???

Great points, BUT 1st of all Montgomery is going to replace Anderson at SS in 2 years when the Sox don't renew his Contract 2nd Crochet i believe is ALMOST untouchable unless it's a much bigger star than Chisholm. 3rd Sosa and Gonzalez would have to really have great springs, and even then the pressure of the regular season is much tougher than the Spring Training. 4th I believe Chisholm has 2 years of control and if he got to expensive, then Sosa and or Gonzalez would be ready. Great Post, will organized and you made great points to think about.

I still, and I know I'm going to get backlash once again, would rather have Chisholm at 2nd then Sosa, Gonzalez or Garcia. Let the hate responses begin calling me stupid, a moron, stupid and my favorite will be "you know nothing about baseball". I'm ready for the ridicule. I just like to have fun and create senario's. Isn't that what this is all about? FUN!!! I haven't seen one response with and alternative cure for 2nd base unless everyone is going to be happy with Sosa/Gonzalez/Garcia at 2nd. If so great.

See below from White Sox News, I'm not the only nut out there calling for Jazz/Chazz, whatever his name is Home/White Sox News White Sox News: Chicago should be all-in on Jazz Chisholm Jr. following Friday's trade One of the biggest trades of this Major League Baseball off-season took place on Friday afternoon. The Minnesota Twins traded reigning batting title winner Luis Arraez to the Miami Marlins in exchange for Pablo Lopez and two prospects. That is the definition of a blockbuster. The White Sox obviously benefit from this move because of the fact that they won't have to face Luis Arraez as a member of a division rival anymore. He is an elite player against everyone but he seemed to be extra special when he was facing White Sox pitchers. It is good to see him shipped off. By Vincent Parise With this trade though, it is easy to wonder what the Marlins are going to do. They already have Jazz Chisholm Jr. and they signed Jean Segura during the off-season. With Luis Arraez coming to town, what is their plan? According to Kim Ng, they are going to move Jazz Chisholm Jr. to centerfield with Segura at shortstop and Luis Arraez at second base. It is an interesting strategy but it is also fair to wonder if another move is coming for them. The Chicago White Sox are a team that could really use a 2B upgrade. At the very minimum, the White Sox should be calling to check in on Chisholm Jr. He would fit into this team in every way. With how disappointing 2022 was, it would be nice to see them make a splash like this. They desperately need an upgrade at second base but it sounds like they will roll with Romy Gonzalez and Lenyn Sosa as internal options. Chisholm is an All-Star caliber player that makes sense via a trade and the White Sox should be all in on trying to make a move like that. He is also an outstanding hitter that has a proven track record in Major League Baseball now. This lineup would take a big step forward if he became a part of it. Tim Anderson and Jazz Chisholm Jr. would make some great plays together if they were the team's two middle infielders. If Yoan Moncada and Andrew Vaughn had solid defensive years in addition to Chisholm joining the team, the entire makeup of the team could change for the better.

Because of the annoying jingle at every game I WILL NEVER BUY INSURANCE FROM NATIONWIDE, it’s old, tired and annoying. -
agree, but you got to play the hand you're dealt. too msny porclean dolls on this team this is what the cheapo's gave us this year.

they didn't do enough considering what was availble, Conforto and Segura as a start. Colas may be a star in the making but he's not ready. Is Clevinger going to be the the Clevinger we saw dominate? Doubt it, they're already saying he's lost 3 or 4 miles off of his fast ball. Is Kopech going to ready? Did they really do anything beyoud Benintendi, which i liked the signing. Too many 1st Baseman DH types. Which Gandal shows up? If Colas fails at the plate we'll have a Garcia Sheets Right Field when Garcia is not playing second Hamilton signing is a joke, i'd rather of had Harrison back and not a fan of Harrison but he's better than Garcia/Sosa/Gonzalez at this time. We have too many player who spend more time on the IR list than on the fiels.

and F*** the Sox, because our Front Office just doesn't care
-
PS. remove the Cub comparison and answer this? Did the Sox do all that they could to get back to the playoffs? I say no.
-
i don't care either what the cubs do, i'm just illustrate the difference in our terrible Front Office and the little disregard for our fan base. JR, Kenny and Hahn just don't seem to care. They only care about payroll and not whether we win or lose. Maybe one day we'll get an owner like SD, NY, LA has. AN owner that wants to win at all costs.

this is an abbreviated version of my other post which goes into more detail by the same title. , i had a problem posting the longer version and thought it didn’t post when the site went down yea Who did better, I say the Cubs, they were more aggressive, made calculated 1 and 2 year deals with Hosmer, Mancini, Bellinger etc. Spent on Swanson and Tallion. We got Benintendi and Clevinger, no legit 2nd Baseman. Still overloaded with DH’s and 1st Basemen. A possible rookie with no real at bats in the majors in right field Colas instead of Conforto who was there for the taking Benintendi was a good move, Clevinger a risk but only for a year. Martin as a backup 5th Starter or 5th Starter if Kopech is still mending is ok . our bench is a joke Hamilton, Garcia Sosa and Gonzalez? Come on, really? Is Gleyber Torres really available? Is Madragil really available ?
