Does it really matter at this point? We have a payroll dominated by relief and starting pitchers that we are stuck with, an 18 million dollar catcher not worth 5 million, players that are constantly on IR OR DL list. Robert, Jimenez, Kelly, Engel, Moncada now Anderson got hurt. Yasmani and Moncadas contracts are not tradeable. They won’t play Corlas and give him a chance. We are loaded with 1st basemen and DH’s. We’re not going to resign Cueto or Andrus. Andrus could have solved the 2nd base problem for at least this year. Diekman and Kelly are a waste of money. We still have no legit right fielder or second basemen. Not going to resign Abreu. Super Joe piece of crap 3rd base coach still around, is Frank M still the hitting coach? Are the bullshit training staff that don’t know how to get players ready still around. We get bigge4 problems then Pedro. Terry Francona if everything stayed the same would have the same record as Pedro. Believe me I hope I’m wrong.

Agree. It will hilarious watching games with Ozzie back in the dugout. HOFHurt, you’ll watch, we all will. Hey, I don’t want him either, but we’ll all watch the 1st month for shits and grins as they say.
-
I highly doubt Ozzie gets the job. I think it’s up to Houston. I think Espada is who you they want. If Dusty retires after the WS, he’ll stay in Houston and get the job. Then I believe it’s Alomar, Washington or Schildt. Problem is with Schildt, he’s a La Russa clone, younger than Tony, but still probably will have Tony tendencies. We’ll see, I think a decision will be within a week after the WS ends.
-
Yes, I remember those Sunday lineups also. How funny when I also heard Ozzie criticize some of Tony’s Sunday lineups or lineups for a day game after a night game. Maybe, hopefully if be some miracle he gets the job, which I doubt will happen, he won’t screw around and hope the B Team can win a game. Really not fair to the starting pitchers to have s%*# line up.

I’m just hoping Dusty is being asked to comeback next year. That May free up Espada. Unless a back room deal is cut, Dusty does 2023 and they guarantee Espada 2024. Then we have to look at Washington. I think Ozzie is not getting a serious interview.

NBC Sports Chicago’s Michael Allardyce reports that the White Sox plan to interview Ozzie Guillen next week in their search for a new manager following the retirement of Tony La Russa. Guillen has previously expressed interest in returning to the dugout as manager, and the White Sox have previously been reported to prefer an experienced manager to replace La Russa. The White Sox have been previously reported to have interest in Astros bench coach Joe Espada, Royals bench coach Pedro Grifol and Braves third base coach Ron Washington, among others, for their managerial vacancy i think this is a courtesy interview. Joe Espada, yes, Ron Washington, yes, Pedro Grifol, NO, not that he’s a bad guy, but not from an organization that has been a winning lately. Ozzie would be my choice only if Espada and Washington would not take the job. I would miss the hilarious banter of the pre and post game shows if Ozzie got the job, but the post game conference after a loss or losing streak would be a hoot. I’m all in on Espada or Washington because they come from winning organizations. we’ll see, I’ll bet a decision will come within a week after the WS ends. My Ranking 1. Espada 2. Washington, 3. Ozzie.

Ozzie will never manage the Sox again, at least as long as Kenny Williams is around. I agree the bench coach of the Astro’s would be a good choice. BUT if Dusty blows it or decides to retire at the end of the season, he’ll get the job. Right now watching the Astro’s, he’d be my choice. Not the bench coach from KC, we need someone from a winning organization, not a last place team. I originally thought Bochy was the way to go but we need to go younger.

I don’t know about a cheap 2nd baseman. We’ve gone that route a few times and it hasn’t worked out. We have a lot of key players at reasonable prices tied up. Robert, Jimenez, Anderson, Vaughn, Sheets, Moncada etc we’re going to cut bait it looks like on Abreu, that’s 17 million right there Harrison, 4.5 million, Pollock, 13 Million. do they gamble and trade Hendriks 13 million and go with Lopez Crochet? If we’re going cheap at second it should be a rookie Sosa or Gonzalez Hernandez was a bust , Harrison sucked in the 1st half We we’re willing to go rookie before the genius trade by Hahn for Kimbrel, spend on another starter and outfield if we’re going cheap at second ,

I went to 15 games in 2021. I went 2 games in 2022. I’m not a band wagon fan. I had season tickets up until they demolished old Comiskey. I will make my decision on what my plans are for 2023 when the management team is put in place, and the roster is decided. I could go back to 15 games as I did in 2021, get season tickets if they wow me, or none if they screw things up. I need to see a proven manager, a legitimate right fielder, and a 2nd baseman. I’d settle for Andrus at second for a year if they wisely spend for a real right fielder/left fielder. should Eloy be allowed to play left? should he be a full time DH? I’m writing this post considering Abreu is gone and Vaughn is the full time 1st basemen. I know this is a ticket disc but this is what decides who buys and who doesn’t. The bullpen and starters is another discussion as is catching. We probably can’t give Yasmani away because of his contract. Could he return to the hitter he was 2 or 3 years ago just being a DH? After all, he’s a switch hitter, has power, draws a lot of walks. A lot of questions still remain before I buy another ticket. What do we do with Sheets? Play him or trade him? Buy out Pollock? Trade Hendriks? Lots of questions. Risk a big contract on Conforto? Please respond and give opinions, after all is this what it’s for.

Will Abreu be a White Sox in 2023?

PS we also need another starter, I believe either Kopech or Giolitto or both might be gone -

We need to sign Andrus as a second baseman utility guy. Need to sign Conforto to play right field and sign Cueto. -

Also, Cease and Vaughn have been designated as untouchable, especially with Abreu now gone. I think Jimenez and Sheets will be alternating as DH’s and left Field. -

Abreu unofficially officially gone. He sent a thank you to the fans and organization. Bad move, he’d be the perfect DH against lefties -
It should be Bochy, or Bochy or Bochy, these are my 3 picks
-
Agreed. Love the guy he’s got to on the team and playing next year. Whether it be DH, 1st base, wherever. He’s more than an average 1st baseman. He’s above average and he busted his ass and improved a lot over the years
-
Come on man we all know AJ is not my cousin. I picked the monicker because he was key to the 2005 team, gutsy, a pain in the ass to opponents and he stole 1st base in the playoffs ???
-
I also nominate my cousin AJ for color analyst when Stoney retires. By the way he’s cutting down on his schedule I don’t think he’ll go beyond 2 more years. Predicting 2024 as he last season. Blackjack McDowell wouldn’t be a bad alternative is my cousin doesn’t want the job.

Sorry, but there’s one problem, just like TLR, in JR’s eyes, Abreu is also untouchable for at least one more year, remember, the one thing that JR LOVES and respects almost as much as money is loyalty. Abreu has been very loyal and JR, TLR, and Hahn love him , we need to suck it up for one more year.
-
You cannot do that to Abreu, he’s still in great shape, yes, he ALWAYS starts out slowly, but he’s clutch and deserves at least next year. Until these guys prove that they can stay on the field, we need Abreu on the field and especially in the clubhouse. You cannot disrespect him like we did Carlton Fisk, Harold Baines and a few others. He is White Sox through and through and he’s a great ambassador to show the Cubans that the White Sox is the place to be. If you guys don’t think we got Robert to sign because Abreu whispered in his ear about the organization. At his age he’s in great shape and clutch. We’ve got to give him 2023.
-
Yes, Eloy is great, Yes Robert can be great if he can stay out of the hospital. Vaughn has now shown that he is the real deal and Sheets has shown it at times. The offensive core is there. Anderson and Abreu also count. Can we get Andrus to stay for a year or 2 and play second? Moncada seems to be on the mend and offensively improving. Catcher is a big weakness. I think Grandahl is toast, even as a DH, A position that we do not lack for volunteers. Bench wise in the infield we are weak, I believe Garcia’s better days are behind him. Harrison? Wouldn’t be the worst idea for the bench. Pollock is not bad as a backup outfielder AT THE RIGHT PRICE, the last month he’s greatly improved Pitching is for another day.
