Could it be that Hahn has turned out to be incompetent in building a lineup? Prioritizing Leury at the expense of getting a quality 2nd baseman and lefty outfielder, shifting most resources to relievers and fielding a lineup like yesterday with three guys hitting under .200. What is the reasoning to having so many relievers when we can’t get enough runs? Trading for Kimbrel last season and not a lefty position player, when we already had an all star closer was not a good deal.

Mendick is a big upgrade over Leury nowadays. We took out Leury and Moncada that are hitting below the Mendoza line. Only 2 scrubs today in the lineup Grandal and Harrison. Lineup today much better than yesterday. We have a chance today. Yesterday we did not.

They questioned TLR lineup construction, and the need to have one of your best hitters leading off. TLR is becoming a national laughingstock and hurting his legacy. He should retire.

Our worst hitters can’t be on the top five of the lineup like tonight, because they don’t move runners over, don’t get on base or drive runs, and you put them in a position to get to bat more times in a game. TLR is the worst in MLB in constructing lineups.

The problem today is that he should not be hitting lead off. Mendick has been doing well. But TLR preferred a crappy switch hitter to a righty who has been hitting well because of the match up obsession. Also no way Grandal should have hitting 5 th. This game could have been tied with a better lineup construction. It is still a winnable game, but is ever easy with TLR in command.
