  1. We're fucking done talking about Yaz's postseason munbers with the Dodgers OK?
  2. No problem guys. Just string together 8 of those singles you've been hitting and it's tied.
  3. The Astros don't want to swing. Just keep pounding the zone.
  4. I usually criticize Cease for taking too many pitches to get through innings, but tonight, I want to see 4 scoreless innings and I don't care if it takes him 100 pitches to do it.
  5. The Sox have won 3 straight playoff games on Sunday, all on days the Bears also won.
  6. I watched the pregame show on NBCSC for the first two games so I'm not doing that tonight.
  7. On a day when 11 extra points were missed, and the Packers and Bengals combined to miss 5 game winning FGs before Green Bay finally got one. I think the Bears have a real chance to not get blown out by Green Bay next week.
  8. I was just thinking about that as well. We were told that Escobar had been traded to the Sox. Then they hadn't traded for him. Then we heard it was from medical issues. But he never missed any time.
  9. Apparently, getting opposing receivers to drop passes when wide open is a skill.
  10. Questionable PI call as well. These refs just like to throw flags.
  11. Yeah, Engel may go 0-4, but he'll at least provide defensive value. Leury has to get on base a couple times to compensate for the lack of defense.
  12. The excuse is that Cesar and Leury are both swtich hitters, completely ignoring the fact that they'll combine to go 0-8.
  13. I don't know if the Sox would ever dare try this, but Bummer has a FB rate under 10% and you could really justify playing 5 IF and 2 OF when he's pitching, especially if your two OF are Robert and Engel.
  14. I'm pretty sure his vote total is the square root of -1, because any world where he's in charge is purely imaginary.
  15. The other three road teams all won a game. Sox are the only ones who didn't.
  16. At some point it's no longer bad luck when the majority of the grounders are going to the same few spots and the infielders positioning isn't adjusted to match.
  17. I meant "unfair price" in terms of dollars to free agents, not in prospects in trades. If you never, ever overpay for a free agent, you'll have a hard time winning. At some point you have to risk getting stuck with a bad contract down the road.
  18. Nice win by Iowa, but Penn State was overrated. Barely beat a bad Wisconsin team and only beat Auburn, who needed the refs help to beat Georgia State, by 8. Penn State will lose 2-3 more games.
  19. What was that about Bama's head and shoulders?
  20. Referees work very hard to make sure that the undefeated teams in their conferences stay undefeated.
  21. At least win one game, otherwise the Sox won the same number of playoff games as the Cubs.
  22. If you're not willing to pay an "unfair" price at least sometimes, you'd better be as perfect at drafting as Tampa Bay if you want to win in the postseason. There were better options for RF than Adam Eaton, better options for a backup 2B/SS than Leury Garcia, and better options for RH setup than Even Marshal/Codi Heuer.
