  1. Ruiz? Can't see him getting out of the 11th giving up fewer than 2 runs.
  2. So when the visiting team doesn't score in the top of the 10th the home team should bunt the runner to 3rd, but I don't know that I've ever seen Robert bunt.
  3. Bad roster management led to today's predicament, but given the situation as it was, the right moves have been made (so far) regarding pitching.
  4. Cueto's pitching on 3 days rest while being given about 10 minutes advance notice. Giving up a few runs is inevitable.
  5. @ptatc is it more concerning that it's his knee and not his ankle?
  6. One thing this weekend emphasizes is that the starting pitchers have to get better at getting through at least 6 innings. Today's freak injury notwithstanding, Kopech, Cease and Giolito have all struggled to make it through 6 innings this year. As a result, the bullpen is overworked and we have more days with guys unavailable.
  7. Yeah, there is no good move when your starter gets hurt after 2/3 inning and your bullpen has thrown 14 innings over the past two days.
  8. Probably a bullpen day, but with more guys available since I'm guessing Foster and Ruiz both unavailable today.
  9. Hired a manger who had just gotten his 2nd DUI. Karma getting its revenge.
  10. I don't disagree but I don't see how this one is on the training staff.
  11. If you had posted "sweep the series" instead of "win the series" when you started this thread Friday, the Sox would have won yesterday. It's your fault.
  12. I don't mind Mendick 9th as a guy who can get on base for the top of the order. I also like Mendick more at SS than Leury. Would have McGuire 7th and Leury 8th though.
  13. Aside from in-game managing, LaRussa has input on coaching staff decisions, personnel decisions and training staff decisions. They've failed in all four areas. Some of those things can't be fixed mid-season, but firing LaRussa sends a message to the players that they're going to get a better effort from the organization next offseason.
  14. A player is never going to trash his manager publicly, so if I were interviewing him I'd just avoid the subject rather than get a guy one the record saying something good about him.
