  1. I would agree. If there were two outs and you had to have a hit to get runs home I'd do it, but with zero outs there are other ways to score. like a HBP.
  2. So if they bring in a righty do you pinch hit Sheets for Engel?
  3. White Sox make trash RH pitchers look like Cy Young contenders and Cy Young contending LH pitchers look like trash pitchers.
  4. Yeah, Moncada's either hitting well enough to play 3B or not hitting well enough to be in the lineup at all. No to Burger at 2B, but he can play twice a week in place of Moncada at 3B, twice a week at DH in place of Eloy (with Vaughn moving from DH to LF) and once a week in place of Vaughn at DH.
  5. If somebody could trick TLR into believing that every opposing starter is a lefty, we'd consistently get better lineups.
  6. Player / 2021 OPS / 2022 OPS Grandal / .913 / .437 (-476) Sheets / .830 / .601 (-229) Moncada / .818 / .367 (-451) Garcia / .717 / .463 (-254) So, the four guys who bat left-handed/switch and have been on the team both years have all been far, far worse in 2022 than 2021. While I'm of the opinion that the players, coaches, training staff, front office, and opposing pitchers have all influenced this, I'd like to know what people think is the primary reason they've been so bad this year. Also, for reference, stats for guys not on the team both years: 2021: Lamb .710, Goodwin .693, Collins .668, Eaton .642, Hernandez .598 2022: McGuire .523
  7. 1B isn't like other positions, he isn't going to get rusty by not playing there for a while.
  8. I predict Kopech wins the CY Young the first year he reaches 200 IP.
  9. Engel in RF probably gets to that and saves a run, maybe even two if you assume that homer doesn't come leading off the next inning.
  10. Outside of the catcher and pitcher, I think the other seven guys should be allowed to line up anywhere in fair territory they want. It's up to the hitter to "hit it where they ain't"
  11. OPS vs RHP Vaughn .794 Sheets .638 Engel .623 Even if Vaughn somehow needs "a day off" which I doubt, Engel is a better option for RF, giving you essentially the same offense but far, far better defense. Leury 1st and Medick 9th is also obscene.
  12. To me he looks better from the right side than the left.
  13. Don't forget to thank Dave Roberts for bringing in David Price.
  14. Sox could lead the league this year in both SB% and opponent SB%
  15. Not going to defend the signing because I still think it was a bad idea, but if the rest of the team hits like they're supposed to, you can win a lot of games with a 2B who has an A+ glove and a D- bat.
  16. I hadn't noticed Engel was in to pinch run and wondered why the fuck Vaughn was trying to steal.
  17. This teams splits vs RH/LH pitching is so extreme it's even rubbing off on McGuire (yes I meant to say rubbing)
  18. WHY THE FUCK WOULD ANY TEAM EVER PUT IN A LEFTY RELIEVER AGAINST THE SOX?
  19. Bringing in a lefty to face Sheets knowing that Pollock and Engel are on the bench is LaRussa level stupid.
