  1. Didn't end up helping but smart baserunning by Leury to understand that it's a force out at home and running through the plate rather than sliding.
  2. 40 pitches through 4. Kopech on track to pitch deep into this game.
  3. Kopech not gonna let Cueto just waltz in here and become the ace of the staff.
  4. Engel is playing well recently how do you sit him? It's not like Sheets has been hitting righties well enough that you have to have him in the lineup.
  5. Anderson sat out first game. Donaldson sitting out second game. Nobody can convince me that TLR and Boone didn't coordinate that.
  6. Chapman has a 101 mph fastball and was afraid to throw it to Vaughn.
  7. No bunt by Marwin and runner getting picked off 2nd. Yankees are out-stupiding TLR.
  8. It's too bad Sox management didn't have this information when they hired him.
  9. Clever bunt but with 2 outs and Leury on deck better off swinging for the fences. I guess if nothing else it keeps Leury from leading off the next inning.
  10. I'll pick him for the second game when he's playing, but I'll go with Jose Abreu for the first game.
  11. Teams are starting the game with a warning. I'd be telling the Sox hitters to crowd the plate and dare them to throw inside.
  12. This is what I was trying to say but you said it better.
  13. MLBN took the side of the Yankees player. The sky is blue. Dirt is dirty. Ice is cold.
  14. To solve racism we must willingly provide people of color the opportunity to "catch up" to white people in terms of opportunity . To view doing so as being "racism" against white people is, in itself, a racist attitude. Sorry if this is a touchy subject for me, a cousin of mine who is also one of my best friends married into a black family and I've heard first hand about all the shit they have to go through on a regular basis.
  15. Just because we didn't hear about it until 2022 doesn't mean it wasn't a racist comment in 2019 and doesn't mean it wasn't received that way in 2019. Babe Ruth isn't known for being a pioneer in his race, so this is not a fair comparison Yes, though Asian Americans aren't discriminated against in this country to nearly the extent that black people are, so it would probably be less controversial. So black people were enslaved in this country for over 100 years and systematically discriminated against for over 100 years after that, and we're just supposed to say, OK, now we'll just treat you as equal without fixing all the problems we caused them for 200 years?
  16. Your chromosomes determine your physical sex, male or female (with some very rare chromosomal abnormalities that make someone physically not binary, but that's a different discussion). Your brain and your hormones influence which gender you actually feel like you are and which gender you're attracted to. In the vast majority of cases, people feel like the gender that matches their physical sex (cisgender) and are attracted to the opposite sex (heterosexual). Some identify with the opposite gender (transgender) and some are attracted to the same sex (homosexual) and some are both.
  17. People are completely missing the point here. It doesn't matter whether TA comparing himself to Jackie Robinson is fine or ridiculous. As a white person, Josh Donaldson doesn't get any say in the matter. None. Given his history with the Sox, if he thinks anything he says to anyone on that team will be interpreted as a joke then he's an incredibly stupid person. Much more likely he was trying to get under TA's skin. He knows it, TA knows it, everybody knows it.
  18. Given the history of how MLB treats the Yankees, no.
  19. Just to recap: Georgia passes racist voting laws - Braves, who have no control over that, lose the All-Star game. Yankees 3B/DH makes racist statements to another player - No punishment.
