  1. Sox are gonna lose this game allowing only one hit.
  2. This is only Kopech's 15th major league start. He's going to have innings where he completely loses it. That he came back and mowed down a very good lineup after that inning is an extremely promising sign for his future. Cortes is dealing, but I can't help thinking that Moncada and Grandal could have helped.
  3. The technical staff is using their Sunday lineup right now.
  4. No, Sheets is not an option in RF. You're better off having Engel out there no matter how bad he hits he's a defensive asset. Sheets should only DH/1B.
  5. A Sunday lineup without Mendick in it makes me think there's a roster move about to be announced.
  6. I don't mind a pitcher being upset about getting pulled nor do I mind him blowing off steam about it, but no way should Dallas ever go more than 5 innings unless he's not made it all the way through the lineup twice yet.
  7. First Sox win over the Yankees in anyplace other than Iowa since 2019.
  8. Better score in the 9th cause with Judge-Rizzo-Stanton up in the 10th Sox have no chance.
  9. It's perfectly fine to swing at that pitch with two strikes. The problem is guys swinging way too often at that pitch with < 2 strikes.
  10. 15 runs Thursday, 10 runs last night, just keep this up and tomorrow will be a shutout!
  11. That's an absolutely perfect take if this is the 1970s and everybody still thinks AVG is the most important thing.
  12. It's Cleveland's fault Gio got COVID. They should have to loan us Bieber for every start he misses.
  13. Moncada should lead off vs RHP. There's not even a decent argument for anybody else other than "TA always leads off"
  14. The problem with Jose (and other slow guys) is that the infield can play deeper, which allows them to get to more ground balls, and still throw him out. With someone like Robert or Engel, they have to play in a bit more, which allows a few more grounders to get through. Slower guys really need to focus on hitting the ball in the air.
  15. Of course it will never happen but TA should not be leading off vs RHP.
  16. OK, so it wasn't just me, then. Looks like Joe Kelly broke Soxtalk.
  17. Except that the Sox weren't a contending team in Konerko's last years so it didn't matter as much that he was taking a lineup spot. The stakes are higher with Abreu.
  18. His OBP on fastballs in the zone isn't 1.000, but his OBP on walks is.
  19. I will fall on the sword for this pitching matchup: Cole (R) 2-0, 2.67 vs Velasquez (R) 2-2, 3.97
