That he came back and mowed down a very good lineup after that inning is an extremely promising sign for his future. Cortes is dealing, but I can't help thinking that Moncada and Grandal could have helped.

It's perfectly fine to swing at that pitch with two strikes. The problem is guys swinging way too often at that pitch with < 2 strikes.

The problem with Jose (and other slow guys) is that the infield can play deeper, which allows them to get to more ground balls, and still throw him out. With someone like Robert or Engel, they have to play in a bit more, which allows a few more grounders to get through. Slower guys really need to focus on hitting the ball in the air.

Of course it will never happen but TA should not be leading off vs RHP.

His OBP on fastballs in the zone isn't 1.000, but his OBP on walks is.
