  1. Me too. I can't watch it anymore. I give the game a chance til the first time they pull this, then I simply can't watch. I sometimes return to the game, especially if I hear it's 3-3 or something and see if we can pull it out. I can't watch us strand runners anymore. It's too not fun. I start watching each game with interest, then just can't watch that crap til later in the game if it's still close or somehow we are winning.
  2. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 09:29 AM) Too bad Ozzie didn't have the balls to say "Hey Alex, how about you change your stance, or you'll never see the field again? Now get to work." QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 05:27 PM) And the best part is that Teahen is 1000000000000% correct. Kudos to Mark. 1.) Yeah, right. Nobody tells these millionaire players what to do. What dream world are u living in? 2.) Mark Teahen is a horrible horrible baseball player. He is abysmal.
  3. Wow Big Hurt can tell Rios' batting stance is moronic. I love the Big Hurt.
  4. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 03:31 PM) Yankees games get jacked-up prices. Good luck. Is that cause of Yankee fans who want to go? Or do our fans want to go badly?
  5. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 02:49 AM) Peope ask if we will ever be at .500 or over it again? I guess with the frustration the question is legiotimate. All I know is this team should be playing so much better and it is getting to be one frustrating time waiting for the black holes in our line up to produce. I just cringe everytime the come to bat with runners in scoring position. We get 4 or 5 hits a game and score maybe 3 runs and then get 11 hits in a game and score 3 runs. Watching runners get left on base in scoring psoition time after time is such a crock. We can win with the team as presently constructed is a worn out line if they never produce. We had two men on and two out in the first or second inning. I think Dunn struck out. That was it for me. It's impossible to watch these guys play a full game. Call us fair weather fans; it's just been too maddening this season. I turned it on again late in the game just in time for Rios' bonehead lazy play. Turned it off again. So I watched about five minutes total.
  6. If Dayan's thumb is healed, no excuse he's not brought up for the Yankee series. I'd stick his butt at third base since Oz ain't gonna bench Juan. I guess I'd even go for Juan in center at this point if Dayan could play.
  7. QUOTE (MuckFinnesota @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 02:31 AM) Ticket prices are wayyy too high. Not to mention parking is too expensive and the beer is outrageous for recent graduates. I'd rather tailgate and get tipsy outside so I don't have to pay $7.25 for a beer inside. But some days I can't even tailgate because a parking guy is a dick and sucks at customer service, telling people if they have Honda CRVs they can't pull up where everyone is tailgating in spite of two small cars being close by. I don't buy the Cubs/Sox argument because if they were able to draw 27,000-30,000 a night that should be enough to put the Sox past some of those other clubs. Anybody who pays 7.25 for a beer deserves to have it spilled on him/her. Out of principle nobody should buy a beer that costs that kind of money. No f***ing way. Of course a soft drink I would assume is about 5 bucks and a bottle of water prolly 5 bucks, right? I guess u gotta drink something.
  8. I think NY will win 3 or 4 and no, we will not sniff .500 after that.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 01:18 AM) Trading Jackson for a righty reliever did wonders for us this weekend! It is so infuriating how many bad decisions this organization has made the last three years. There is no excuse for Thornton to still be on this team. I thought we'd trade Thornton to the Rangers, really did. Maybe they realize he's now a bucket of suck and didn't want him? That is possible.
  10. It's hard for me to choose. Obviously I despise Rios because of his laziness and fact he's stealing a paycheck. But Dunn is a national embarrassment. He is so bad it makes a laughingstock of our franchise nationally. To see a team walk a righty to get to a lefty with a righty pitcher is truly laughable. I guess if I HAD to choose I'd say I hate Rios more. But it's pretty close to equal. Dunn is a bucket of suck to quote somebody's moniker on here.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 10:43 PM) With the Yankees and Twins coming up...feels like it's about time for that mid-summer losing skid. Great point. Here it comes. I think 2 sweeps in a row. That said, I pray next year we get off to a better start. This whole season has sucked big time. That April was a total joke. Our dysfunctional organization never could come back from that godawful start. Please Sox, do something different next year to have a good April/May.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 09:28 PM) Kenny got suckered into thinking this team had a chance after winning 2 of 3 against the Tigers. Those two wins were such fool's gold. We actually won 4 of 6 vs. them in a short period of time, didn't we? As far as Mark's having no confidence, well, he's a smart veteran. He knows this offense won't magically turn around and guys like Rios have a way of deflating a whole team. Rios doesn't care and that doesn't cut it. Really, Oz and KW should bench him for good. He doesn't care. He's a cancer so to speak. Let DeAza play every day even if he hits .095.
  13. I'm out. For some reason I'm not patient with our crappy team on Sundays. Bless you all and have a great Sunday!
  14. Oh boy. I guarantee a K or a walk now.
  15. At least Quentin is behind Paulie today, not Mr. Out.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 06:32 PM) Even with a weak lineup, with the way our pitching staff has performed over the last two months or so, we have definitely not won as many games as we should have. The offense has been the same all year. Paulie or nothing with a little dose of CQ and AJP. This offense doesn't deserve to be over .500.
  17. There's nothing to clarify. It's like when bad college football teams state in the preseason they are shooting for a bowl game and all season long they keep saying their goal is that bowl game, even if they are 1-4. When they are finally mercifully eliminated for bowl consideration they say nothing. They play out the string and come up with something for the following season. What can KW say except. "Uh we were all in and we failed. As far as the future, we'll be all in again. Fellas, we are all-in every year. Every team in baseball is all-in. Our goals are to win another world championship. Blah blah."
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 06:15 PM) Rios will be playing tmrw against Sabathia even if he shoots 76 kids at the Sox/Bulls Academy. 8/33 against Sabathia, 3 doubles, 3 HR's, 5 RBI's Ugg. Bad joke.
  19. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 05:33 PM) I wonder if Rios gets it? Plays like a little league kid out there and then seemingly pouts about being called out on his lack of hustle and performance. He is adark hole in the line up and when we have several not producing it just can't be good for our "all in it" stance He gets it. He knows he gets paid no matter what and he doesn't care about earning the check if it means hustling. He thinks he's smooth and graceful and above getting sweaty. He's a dog.
  20. QUOTE (beck72 @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 10:49 AM) If the sox did add a SP via trade, maybe their old friends in KC would be a fit with Bruce Chen. Nothing great, but he'd eat innings, which is what the sox would need to keep Peavy, Humber and Mark all fresh. Chen projects as a type B FA. With him making only $2 mill, the sox could offer him ARB. Not sure what the asking price would be. KC writer says teams are calling about Francis, Chen and Davies and expect to deal. Chen got lit up vs. BOS last outing, but had done well prior to that. http://twitter.com/#!/Royals_Report/st...445061008175105 The sox still play KC 10 more games, with 3 more series vs. them. You figure Chen could get 3 starts vs. the Sox. They certainly haven't done well vs. him, only getting 2 runs in 14 innings. Those 3 games could be huge going down the stretch. Humber appears done as more than a 4 inning guy this season. Say no to Chen. He basically shut us down twice and did little against anybody else.
  21. QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 06:23 AM) Did he have a chance to throw the guy out? Or was he pulling the usual jog to the ball, toss it to the cutoff man BS? He loafed in retrieving the ball. It's as if the runner knew it was Rios out there and never slowed down on a single. He scored from first base.
  22. QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 04:45 AM) Worst manager in baseball KW could release Rios if he wanted to. He could release Dunn if he wanted to. Worst GM in baseball.
  23. Rios loafing like this is an insult to the entire city (cept Cubs fans). Rios is probably the worst excuse for a player in Sox history. Dunn is the worst player; Rios the worst excuse for a player. DeAza every day!
  24. I would be in favor of a disco demolition night for this thread. Take it and print it and burn it. Rios sounded good on paper, not a four-letter word.
