  1. I would not bunt here, Ozzie. See if your hitters can actually hit Francis Bavier.
  2. If we don't hit Francis this inning, it's another offensive FAIL against a lousy starter. Good start by Paulie.
  3. For some reason, there are still those who don't hate Rios. I can't figure that out.
  4. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 12:35 AM) They won't. White sox baseball is always about one simple fact that tomorrow is always there. They don't have any sense of urgency. Ozzie has stated that Pierre could go 0-100 and he would play everyday. So that should tell you everything. True, no urgency at all, but we can't beat the Central. If that trend continues tonight, heads should roll.
  5. Francouer woulda been a way better addition than Dunn for 1/15th the cost.
  6. If we lose tonight at home against KC on the 4th, heads should finally roll.
  7. Adam Dunn is so bad. Way to fail against Kansas City with a chance to tie the game. All In continues to be a laughable slogan.
  8. I have an apple. How do I get this wallpaper from my harddrive onto my background?
  9. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 08:23 PM) I was at that game. What a waste of fireworks. Fireworks in the day?? Just save them if you are going to do that.
  10. Is this game really at 6 p.m.? If Mark works fast and Francis mows us down, this game could be over by 8:15 which would mean a long wait for fireworks.
  11. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 09:17 PM) 'Cause Ozzie makes out the lineup. What's so hard about penciling in Dunn eighth? I'd even prefer flipflopping he and Castro. Castro might get into one off a s***ty lefthander. Dunn will K. Hopefully Adam will take one or two for the team and stick the shoulder into a curve ball.
  12. The question is, can we overcome Dunn's 0-4 with 3 or 4 Ks tonight? I'm serious. Let's assume he is 0-4 with 3-4 Ks, what percentage does that affect our capacity to score 5 runs. I predict we'll need 5-7 per game to beat KC.
  13. This is what bothers me. The team always "looks good on paper." The reality is Rios is not going to hit and Dunn appears done. Beckham is an enigma. Right now he looks like good defense no hit.
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 08:40 PM) They score enough runs (by 2011 standards, anyway). But they can't get anybody out. That was to be expected. Their stud position players are way ahead of their pitching 'spects aside from Crow at this point. The problem is we can't hit anybody, so the odds are in their favor. Dunn batting third is not good. He's an automatic out unless Francis beans him or walks him.
  15. Royals can hit. We can't. Sox can pitch. Royals can't, except setting up and closing. Sox have had problems hitting hacks even worse than Francis. Royals in the past have thrown at our hitters in an attempt to amp up the competitive level against a team in our division. We play like zombies often against teams in our division. Should be interesting to see what combination that brings.
  16. QUOTE (ottawa_sox @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 02:58 AM) I wish they would hurry up and find something physically wrong with Dunn, place on the injured list and bring up Viciedo. Surely they can find something wrong with him. Once again he not only struck out 3 times today, but he missed really badly on some pitches. Anything down and in with a wrinkle and he misses by a mile. It is more than embarrassing. When he gets over his hangnail affiction, or whatever, he can try to work out his swing in Charlotte. Great post. I truly believe we'd have a shot at least splitting with Minnie if only we'd bring up Dayan and DeAza. Please do something, White Sox before our zombie offense gets killed by the Central Div. in the next 19 games.
  17. What do you guys think of the Royals and Minnesota series? You worried about KC's offense? The way our offense is going, all a team has to do is score 4 or 5 and we're cooked. Francis is 3-9 vs. Mark in the opener. Do you think our approach against Twins pitching will be any better than the past? My opinion is KC will score runs so our offense is going to have to heat up some. It's alarming that we are not hitting a ton of home runs now that it's warm. And my opinion is for whatever reason, Minnesota has built a team capable of beating us head to head 8 times out of 10. We must win the opener of that series or it could be another disaster 3 of 4 or 4 of 4.
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 11:32 PM) Hmm, that makes this push to get him on the All-Star team a little conflicting for me then... True, but it's just wrong to not have Konerko on the all star team. That's two years in a row now. This guy is getting screwed royally.
  19. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 01:34 AM) Ok this got to the 2nd page so I had to bump it. 2 runs in 2 games at Wrigley. 3 gwrbi by one of our worst hitters. Dunn sucking more and more every day. Games against division opponents coming up. Too many cold hitters and it's possible PK is hurting. Call up Viciedo now now NOW !! The scary thing is we need Viciedo and DeAza to beat KC and Minnie. We DO NOT win divisional games. The Royals can score runs. Minnie owns us. We need these 2 players in place of Rios and Dunn to even beat KC and Minnie this week. You think we can beat Minnie more than once in four games w/out Dayan this week? Get real. They are built to beat us. The automatic outs of Dunn/Rios are killers IMO
  20. I do feel sorry for Mr. Dunn. It's just sad.
  21. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 02:36 AM) Replace Dunn and Rios with Viciedo and De Aza and it's a done deal. Great post. This isn't grade school ball where everybody gets to play. Why don't the Sox replace the dead weight? There's so much to gain with this pitching staff. We won't win squat with Rios and Dunn in the lineup. We just won't. And Becks needs to hit and Alexei needs a big second half as well. Two simple moves and we have a chance to win the division. Once again we are wasting some nasty pitching.
  22. Thome has six home runs; Dunn 7. Thome has 92 at bats; Dunn 242 at bats. Hilarious.
  23. To not bring him up for the start of our long run of Central Division games is inexcusable. The lineup we have is very weak heading into these games. We could use his bat. As far as his career, I'd expect him to be at the worst, Lexi, at the best, an all-star.
  24. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 08:46 PM) 2 runs in 2 days at Wrigley bad bad Ju Ju. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 09:45 PM) I said this last week, but it's to the point where we're not going to win anything this year with Dunn in the lineup (struggling the way he is). He's showing no signs of coming out of it, so bench him for now and see what we can do with Viciedo at DH for the next month. He absolutely should not be starting 5-6 times a week. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 09:47 PM) I can't recall a longer stretch of games where the Sox have not been blowing out/been blown out by the opposition. I was thinking earlier that our pitchers are throwing a ton of stressful innings, as I can't recall last time we were up by more than 3 in a game. 1.) To win one of the 2 games with 2 runs total ... a miracle. 2 runs in Wrigley Field in two days, one scoring on a wild pitch. My god. Fire Walker now! We need a scapegoat. 2.) Dunn has to be put on the DL. Viciedo needs to take ALL his at bats for a few weeks. Pierre is not going to be replaced and there's nowhere else to put Viciedo. It would be nice to also put Rios on the DL for a few weeks. Let Lilli patrol center. 3.) This is not a good sign. The way we're going I do not expect us to win the KC series. The Royals can hit the ball and we can't hit no matter who takes the mound. KC is bound to score four or more each game.
  25. I got to go to church. Peace out and let's try to beat the CENTRAL DIVISION TEAMS starting now!!!
