  1. Big out by Alex. Weak swing. 2-0 lead is a start. Sox ain't gonna win this game, 2-0 though. More work to do.
  2. I think Alex needs to reinvent a new batting stance.
  3. Wow, we catch a break on AJ's sinking liner. 2-0. Surprised he wasn't playing AJ even more shallow.
  4. Nice. We got a run. Paulie, of course, knocked it in. Cmon rest of u boys, follow Paulie's lead.
  5. I'm gonna go eat after this half inning. Not sure if I'll turn the game back on once I return. Team is starting to bore me. Same ol s*** every night. A few bombs would change my demeanor.
  6. Morel tries to do the right thing, but I'm not a huge fan of his offensive game yet. Our team is so offensively challenged, yet no changes.
  7. I'm in the mood to watch baseball, but our crummy at bats kind of kill the mood.
  8. The Sox bats are not heating up with the weather. What is going on?
  9. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 12:09 AM) Am I reading this correctly? A suggestion that Lillibridge be sent back to Charlotte over one bad night, after how amazing he's played for us so far this year? I mean, really. Really??? Lilly has a lot of flaws, thus he must be a super sub, a role he fits well. A utility guy. I know it drives many of you crazy that I keep mentioning this, but how can a skinny lil guy like Lilly think it's a good idea to take such a big hack? His swing is long IMO and his bat is way too big. He looks like the Cubs' Soriano up there. But Lilly is a major leaguer. He screwed up last night in an unfamiliar park. Ugh. I just saw the replay. He was playing way way too deep and Tulo simply owned Lilly. That's all that happened. I don't think Lilly was loafing. He looked like most people do in corralling a blooper. Problem is Tulo was hustling his ass off. He was safe by the proverbial mile. Lilly got owned. Why was he playing sooo deep? That's on Oz n the staff IMO. I'm just waiting for the day we outhustle people. We don't win if we don't outhomer people.
  10. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 07:52 PM) It wasn't unreasonable to want DLee at all, and many of those who wanted him (including myself) were worried over the number of years that Paulie would demand and his cost since at the time we didn't know the Sox would be going that high in payroll. Of course, I also stated that signing DLee was contingent on a great physical on his part. Don't forget, Konerko had to be swayed to stay, DLee at the time was a very reasonable answer without knowing budget and the actual health of the players. I think a lot of people were turning on Paulie because they "didn't think he could match" last year's performance. Paulie is our best hitter period.
  11. Maggs that is pretty damn impressive. I'm speechless. You should be GM.
  12. QUOTE (Real @ Jun 27, 2011 -> 08:23 PM) Morel is hitting over .250 and isnt a liability at his position, what more can you ask from a 3rd RD pick in his rookie year? Cant believe there's discussion about Brent Morel.... not trying to flame anyone, but this surprises me I like Morel and his potential. He actually tries to hit line drives and hit the ball to right field when it's called for. I don't, however, think you could say he's having a very productive season though. People that follow on base percentage religiously can't be impressed with his one walk in about 200 ABs.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 04:34 PM) KW's goal is to have an outfield of Viciedo, Rios and Quentin next year. Another one of his goals is to have Rios leadoff next season. Sadly the Rios on paper is quite different from the Rios you get in the field and at the plate. If that's KW's goal, I don't like his goal.
  14. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 06:59 AM) Really. This is your final straw. Get a grip. And stop with the absolutes. You must of missed Rios the Toronto Blue Jay if this is the first time you have seen this before. Oh the outrage, the humanity. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 01:39 PM) If the rest of the team had greg's passion, we'd clearly be in first place and running away with the division. I love you, my man, greg775!!! QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 04:39 PM) Sorry, jogging back to the dugout or rounding the base after you have been tagged out on a routine grounder isnt exactly loafing, jogging towards a live ball in the outfield of the infield is. You will never see AJ dog it on a ball in play defensively, ever. He also was the main character in probably the best White Sox Hustle Play of all time in ALCS game 2. 1.) I happen to think it was outrageous what Rios did considering the money he makes. I really think people are missing the boat in bringing up other guys who don't run hard when they hit a fricking pop up. Like fathom said unfortunately 75 percent of players do that. Rios loafs IN THE FIELD. In answer to your criticism of me, I know what kind of player he was in Toronto. That's why I blame KW for taking him anyway and throwing money down the toilet regarding Rios. You wouldn't agree with me with this 'absolute?' I say without any hesitation Rios is not a winner! 2.) Thank you caufield. Rios just flat out pissed me off last night. 3.) Amen. Jerry Reinsdorf must be throwing up realizing he's paying Rios all that cash.
  15. So it's official. Rios is pulling this s*** in Chicago now. This will not bode well. Alex Rios, you do not loaf in Chicago getting paid the kind of jack you are getting paid. White Sox fans, sir, will run you out of town. True Southsiders EARN their paychecks and the Sox core 20,000 fans are hard working SOUTHSIDERS!! Ozzie said it's not the first time it's happened. So Alex Rios is dogging it and loafing for a paycheck. Great. Get rid of the bum, no hyperbole here. There are facts now to support these type of simple statements!!!!! The alarming part of this is guys don't pull this s*** on teams that have a good clubhouse and a chance to win anything. He's pulling it and his teammates are letting him get away with it. This does not bode well for our clubhouse and our desire to win. If Paulie, Quentin, AJ, even Mark Buehrle, et. all aren't reading Rios the riot act over his behavior, it certainly explains our lack of passion in winning close baseball games. MY GOSH THIS RIOS STORY PISSES ME OFF!! Lack of effort for his paycheck is appalling to me.
  16. OK Guys, I'm out. Don't don't be too hard on the team if/when we lose.
  17. I've decided to stop watching if we are retired in this half of the inning. If somehow we win I can watch the highlight on mlb.com. Sox have defeated me tonight.
  18. Glad to see Teahen up against a lefty ... Not.
  19. Rex Brothers is pitching. Oh brother. Is he related to any of the Irish Christian Brothers who taught me at Brother Rice?
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 04:11 AM) Extra innings as the road team is when you could still use your closer to close. If you use Santos now and eventually take the lead, you are going to have someone you don't want closing, closing. Good point. We're gonna have to go with Ohman another inning if we fail to score again.
  21. Another inning. I WANNA see Dunn bat. Not that I think he can hit a rare bomb but I WANNA see him bat.
