  1. If you don't want to fire Ozzie, then send down 3-4 starters for a week. Do something, anything. And trade Dunn now. I've had enough of him. I don't care if the minute he goes to a new team he hits the inevitable 15 homers the rest of the month.
  2. The Minnesota Twins had just gotten swept in KC and aside from the white Sox had been the most pathetic team in baseball. And they no hit the Sox in Chicago. What does Reinsdorf need to see???? Fire people. Send people down.
  3. The White Sox are so bad the only games they win are the final games of series now when the other team just can't quite win all 4. What a f***ing joke. Fire somebody!! Fire somebody!! Just fire somebody, anybody right now. Fire Ozzie and Kenny both. Let anybody else take over this horses*** organization. A no hitter? By a guy who had never thrown a complete game??
  4. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ May 4, 2011 -> 02:24 AM) Hey maybe this is what the team needed. It seemed like after Buerhle's pair of no hitters in 07 and 09 the team went in a slump. Maybe this will turn it around for them. I hope you are kidding.
  5. Laughingstocks of baseball. The White sox get no hit at home by a team that's been in the tank all season. The guy has never thrown a complete game in his career and he'd have no hit us through 12 innings if he had to. Just f***ing fire everybody right now. Please.
  6. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ May 3, 2011 -> 08:52 AM) Just reading through this thread and seeing some of the garbage that you are posting is honestly jaw dropping. Its no coincidence that a few people didnt even know how to respond to some of your posts because they are literally that ridiculous. A lot of your post say things like "I dont think" or "I dont feel" or "To me." Your opinion is your opinion, and nobody is trying to take that away from, but you need to get off your high horse when you disagree with other peoples. How dare you try to belittle the effect 9/11 or anything else OBL had part in because you dont feel the death count was high enough to make it as significant as some other event in history? 9/11 had a DEVASTATING impact on my immediate family, something that we still havent recovered from and there are tens of thousands of people around the country that were impacted more then not being able to bring shampoo on airplanes. So dont try to tell me how to feel, or how to act or that I should be worried that getting some closure will offend people that dont know me or care whether I live or die across the world. I dont doubt that there were handfuls of people who were just celebrating to celebrate last night, and thats their right. A right thats being protected for them by soldiers all over the world. As other people have pointed out, these were peaceful celebrations, they werent riots. It was one of the most refreshing things Ive seen in terms of national pride watching people all over the country cheering, singing and being proud of our nation. Its been a long time since people have been able to put politics and hate aside and all celebrate as a whole around here, no matter what the reason. Im very grateful to the Obama administration, all of the soldiers that have risked their lives for our freedom and anyone else who had a role in bringing this closure to me and my family. I guess that makes me a bad guy. Great post. Badger was all over the map so I don't know what to think. He said in the same breath he wasn't against celebrating and is a very proud American and w/out America he'd be nothing, etc., so I don't think Badger's position is as sucky as I originally thought. Sorry about your family's losses. I re=read your post just now; it's f***ing incredible. Great great post. That's also what I liked about the celebrations even tho I couldn't put it into words as you did. After reading the Vatican and some of the religious leaders' views on celebrating deaths, I feel somewhat guilty about taking great joy in his death, but your post was awesome.
  7. That was a well-deserved rip job on the Sox. Good article.

QUOTE (Be Good @ May 3, 2011 -> 04:38 AM) Not that this has anything to do with this thread but I wish I could cut Dunn from my fantasy teams. I wouldn't even regret it if he turns it around, which i'm sure he will at some point. He's killed my teams as well. Two of my three teams have Mr. Whiff.
  9. I will give him props for that nice catch. I'm sick of seeing him try to steal bases tho.
  10. I do agree with you on the eye test part. Sale and Thornton do not pass the eye test at this point of the season. It's no fun watching either guy pitch. How bout they take the approach of throwing strikes maybe?
  11. In retrospect, we could have used a young upgrade at catcher. Who was available though? On the other topic, who cares if he's disliked? In a clubhouse full of ballplayers there probably are 5-10 pricks in there anyway. So AJ is one of them. Big deal.
  12. QUOTE (Andrew @ May 3, 2011 -> 04:29 AM) I hope not. But let's be honest - We won on HRs tonight. 3 of them. 2 with no runners on. Of course we won because of homers. That has been and remains the only way we can win games. Of course it's worked in the past. It has to work again this year or we're going nowhere. p.s. Pierre needs to stop trying to steal bases like Rock Raines when he finally realized he was not fast anymore. We don't need Juan to get thrown out 50 times this season. Just.Stop.Running.Juan.
  13. That was a great post. badger how do you respond to that? Well I saw the Vatican's position, indicating we Catholics should not celebrate his death. The statement: " Osama bin Laden, as we all know, bore the most serious responsibility for spreading divisions and hatred among populations, causing the deaths of innumerable people, and manipulating religions for this purpose. In the face of a man’s death, a Christian never rejoices, but reflects on the serious responsibilities of each person before God and before men, and hopes and works so that every event may be the occasion for the further growth of peace and not of hatred." Makes sense. But like I said earlier, we were created as imperfect sinners and this was an easy sin to commit, to cheer the death of that bastard. It does make sense to do what the Vatican suggests.
  14. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 3, 2011 -> 01:57 AM) Haha, oh we're such savages. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 3, 2011 -> 01:58 AM) So, what good came from the celebrations? All it may have done is piss people off, there is not one thing that the US concretely gained by going out and celebrating as if we actually won or accomplished something. I can point to a concrete example of why this could not only hurt America's perception, but also could result in more American deaths. What can you point to as a concrete example of how this will help Americans? If you and your friends want to go to a bar and get drunk, good for you. But going out and acting like that, when we know how many innocent people have died at both Osama's and the US's hands because of this nonsense, does nothing more than fuel the flames Ill celebrate when they pull the troops out of Pakistan and Afghanistan, Ill celebrate when they end the War on terror. Until then, we still have men and women out there who are risking their lives, we still have innocent civilians being killed on both sides. Its not over, and until its over, Im not celebrating, because I dont celebrate the death of anyone, I celebrate those who do great things, I wouldnt give Osama the honor of celebrating. Celebrating his death does nothing more than make him out to be more than he ever was. Just stupid person who got lucky, hes no super villain, hes nothing. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 3, 2011 -> 02:45 AM) Your argument makes sense and I don't blame you for feeling the way you do, but I still think it was just fine for anybody on Earth to go out and celebrate yesterday's events. I know it's no competition, but I agree fully with Milkman and really really was disappointed in Badger's position until his last couple posts. I really don't think our celebrating means jack s*** world-wide. The world HATES us anyway and will always hate us. Extremists want to kill us desperately. How many countries have never paid us back? Isn't Sweden the only country to ever pay us back the money they owed us? We are HATED by the world.
  15. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 3, 2011 -> 02:19 AM) Hawk does not seem to give a s*** anymore. QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2011 -> 03:45 AM) Chris Sale really needs to get sent down. QUOTE (TomPickle @ May 3, 2011 -> 03:45 AM) Why are so many people booing? -- Hawk sounded to me like he had a cold. -- I agree. Sale needs to be sent down. Definitely. -- Because the fans are fed up. And snakebit. Sale deserved a full round of boos and I (before this year) was against booing.
  16. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 2, 2011 -> 09:59 PM) Rush was already talking about it, giving Obama credit for sticking with Bush/Republican policies that lead to this mission. Rush was clearly being sarcastic if you listen to his opening monologue. I do think Obama deserves credit BTW.
  17. Agreed, why not? Someday he's going to have a multi homer game you'd think. On paper, he still is one of our better power hitters. He can't bat everybody eighth or ninth which is where most of them deserve to be batting. Beckham, Rios, Pierre, AJ all deserve the bottom of the lineup.

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ May 2, 2011 -> 09:26 PM) Hahah cmon, you did not in any way shape or form point out that other people should be closing over Jenks. You were behind him 100% no matter how bad he was. I love Jenks (look at my damn username) and was probably the funnest part of games from 05-08, but he wasn't at all reliable for the last 2 years and is doing even worse now. Sticking up for players is one thing, blindly hating or loving a player based on horrible logic is another. No, I pointed out that if Jenks was to be replaced as closer, I wouldn't expect that person to save any more percentage of games than Bobby did. What's wrong with blasting Dunn? He has sucked. I don't think anybody wants me to go through all the other guys I think have sucked.
  19. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 2, 2011 -> 08:32 PM) iawtp No one is doing that. OK. I think I'm wrong on this one. If the DNA expert is reliable and the world agrees that person is reliable, then that's good enough. What are they going to do with the body though? Return it to his family?
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 2, 2011 -> 09:17 PM) What are you even talking about? A panel? A panel of what? They had a DNA specialist confirm the identity. Did you think Joe Biden conducted the DNA testing? I believe he's dead. I do believe. I'm just saying I don't think it's healthy to blindly trust government.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 2, 2011 -> 07:39 AM) There are about 17 other guys that had a chance to win some games for the White Sox too. Looking at a team that has lost 12 of 15 games and singling out the poor performance of one player is stupid. There are about 5 guys I'm pretty happy with thus far - Konerko, Lillibridge, Ramirez, Humber, and Santos. QUOTE (T R U @ May 2, 2011 -> 08:34 AM) Hey greg, what kind of life do you live? Because if you get this anal over one month of baseball I wonder what goes on with you when an actual real life problem happens to you.. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ May 2, 2011 -> 01:58 PM) How do you go from worshiping a failing Bobby Jenks last year, to ripping You can't pick and choose like that, it's stupid. First point: I am confused when people say, 'How do you pick one guy to get on?' Well, I am mad at a lot of Sox players but on this day I chose to bash Dunn. That's all. I mean that strikeout with the bases loaded and nobody out at that time reminded me what a piece of crap he's been. That's all. I could bash other guys; I just didn't at that time. Second point: The 'what kind of life do you live' argument is weird. Yes I'm pissed my favorite team is sucking big dog. I don't think about my anger toward these overpaid bastards every minute of the day, however. I can watch the Bulls and all that and be happy and be happy about other things. So shoot me for being very mad about the Sox April/may 1 faceplant. Third point: In worshiping Bobby I also pointed out many times that I'd like to see any of our guys try to close on a daily basis. Bobby actually was pretty damn reliable. Yes last year he blew more saves than normal for him. Pick and choose? Is it too much to ask Dunn to have gotten some big hits in April and help us avoid a month of hell? I hope my Jenks comments doesn't spur some big Jenks discussion. Yes he sucks this year and has been booed by Boston fans. Yes he is fat and he's not the answer anymore. I just decided I wanted to stand up for him. People have favorite players, you know.
  22. Is it too much to ask for one win in four home games vs. Balt?
  23. I don't know about all this. Orgasmic euphoria is a bit much. Yes people celebrated in the streets, but like some of you said not all the celebrators were doing so for this reason. A lot just wanted to party and get laid. I don't think Bin Laden has the ultimate victory like that writer said. So we were happy. WTF? Let us be happy. As far as the picture or body viewing of Bin Laden ... You trust government? They should at least have some sort of panel observe the body. Like officials from all over the world or an independent expert.
  24. True, we can't just take the government's word for it. Checks and balances are needed. How many political scandals in Illinois alone have we seen? I'm confident he's dead but cmon. World deserves proof.
