  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 10, 2011 -> 04:52 AM) This might be the EASY part of our schedule this month. We still have to play Texas, Cleveland, the Dodgers, then AT TEXAS, AT TORONTO and AT BOSTON. Don't think anyone needs to be reminded of of how poorly we've played at those last three venues in recent history. If we're .500 at the end of MAY, I think everyone in baseball will be amazed. I'm sick of looking ahead. I just want the guys to follow the boring cliche and play them one at a time and make my MLB subscription worthwhile like tonight.
  2. Nice bomb by CQ. Hopefully we can have a tidy conclusion to the game. Whatever, nice bomb, CQ.
  3. QUOTE (Real @ May 10, 2011 -> 03:47 AM) relax, they're still 14-22 if they win tonight keep things in perspective (and maybe you are, and if so, that's good), until this team gets to .500 and goes on a TEAR, their wins are more/less meaningless flame away! No need for me to flame. I just wonder about how crazy it is that Beckham and Lexi can look so clueless at times, then when they are stroking it like tonight, they seem like stars. I realize that's the nature of baseball though.
  4. Way to stroke the double, Dunn.
  5. Sometimes Lexi and Beckham both make it look so damn easy. Don't understand baseball and how guys get into those horrific slumps.
  6. Lexi reaches the seats. Nice HR.
  7. Pretty damn impressive DP, Edwin and the boys.
  8. Suck it up, Jackson. Got to get through six.
  9. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ May 10, 2011 -> 03:23 AM) Has any other team won more than 3 games in the last 3 days? While at the games this weekend, I saw us doing the little things which make a difference and this team is jelling now better than it has at anytime this year. It's time for all the naysayers to start believing once again and dump your big bowl of doomsday in the garbage can. Me thinks you are jumping the gun a bit. This game isn't over by any stretch.
  10. I read an article on yahoo that our economy may be f***ed forever. The middle class jobs are disappearing. It is all upper upper class or low paying jobs. The middle paying jobs are all turning into low paying jobs because of company cuts and people "lucky to just have a job." Concerns? Do you all know of any families that have had to move out of their houses into tiny apartments? How are people with 3-4 kids paying the bills?
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 9, 2011 -> 12:57 PM) If it were the easy, it would have been done long ago. I think it'd be pretty easy to have gunmen storm the stadium/arenas during several minutes after halftime of a basketball or football game. Maybe they have eye in the sky people watching but I doubt it. I've been to a lot of pro and college football and basketball games and the minimum wage security people don't seem like they have a clue.

QUOTE (Tex @ May 9, 2011 -> 10:10 PM) Also playing the field will help Paulie. My vote that yes he would get in is depended, in a fairly large way, in the voters rewarding the clean guys. The voters, who don't think anybody is deserving, will not reward the clean guys and penalize the steroid guys. That way nobody gets in. And with pitchers not threatening the 300 win mark in the future, no pitchers will get in, either.
  13. QUOTE (ptatc @ May 9, 2011 -> 02:45 AM) Everyone on the team would laugh at him. Guys who are on the DL and aren't playing are ignored especially one who has been out as long as he has. It's the "big talk from a guy who hasn't helped us" mentality. Once he si pitching for thebig club it will change though. I did think about that before posting what I did. I guess big leaguers are too cool to get fired up in the dugout.
  14. QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ May 7, 2011 -> 06:33 PM) Sean Miller is headed to Maryland. HUGE blow to Arizona That would have been a weird move after just 2 years at Arizona. Only way I figured it would happen if by some chance it was true his wife utterly detests the desert. U of A is stacked with incoming talent. Miller has to be a hero there after the Elite Eight run and all this talent coming in. No need to leave. Wife's allergies must be treatable after all.
  15. Best out of three series now. Atlanta would have taken that before start of series. Bulls have to kick ass at home leading off this best of 3.
  16. Is Sarah Palin a serious presidential nominee? I think she is scary bad.
  17. He's still dead ... yes! On a side note, I've often wondered why these MF terrorists have yet to attack a US sports stadium. I know there was a movie about some stadium getting hit, so the idea has to be out there. Some of these wildly successful college basketball or football teams ... can't you see "security" being lax midway through the third quarter of a football game at Nebraska or Bama or somewhere and bam a hit? Or a Kentucky basketball game or something midway through the second half when "security" is watching the game. It's human nature for "security" at those games to think all is well way through the meat of the ballgame. Just wonder why these scumbag MF terrorists haven't gone that route? Of course I did read Bin Laden was planning on hitting a train route in the future in the US so these terrorist pricks must have continuous discussions of where to hit us. I personally hope we can keep these bastards off our soil forevermore.
  18. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 9, 2011 -> 12:04 AM) Of course four of those were singles with one double, because he's Paul Konerko. I love those Paulie singles where he's right on the ball and smokes it to center or left center. Didn't see today's game to see where they all landed.
  19. QUOTE (hawksfan61 @ May 8, 2011 -> 06:16 PM) You are the first Sox fan I have ever seen pine for Ron Schueler, good grief. Propect guys would have loved Ron though, because Ron sure did LOVE his prospects. In fact he loved them so much he refused to ever part with them to upgrade the major league team, and when 85% of these guys went belly up (like most prospects do) we were left with the Scott Ruffcorns and the Mike Carusos of the world. Also, Ron pulled off the move so many are begging for around here, a firesale. He ended up with such a great return on that boondoggle, we ended up with a whole two relief pitchers for three good major league pitchers. Yup, Ron would be the guy to clean this mess up for sure. What a great post. Wow.
  20. Has Peavy been with the big league club in the dugout much this season? I wish in between minor league starts they'd have had him in our MLB dugout. He seems like a bad ass that wouldn't stand for some of the horses*** play we've had during the season-opening skid.
  21. Are you sure Flowers can't hit at least as well as any average MLB catcher? He this year is hitting .221 but does have 11 walks and fpur home runs. Is his arm great? If he can throw people out, I'd say there's a chance he can play in the big leagues. why the anti-Flowers sentiment? At 25 years old and 6-4, 245 doesn't he deserve a chance in the bigs, especially with AJP looking bad?
  22. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ May 8, 2011 -> 11:12 PM) 5 hits in the inning...thats a 9 inning game most days for us. Amazing what can happen when you don't hit pop ups and lazy fly balls. Would be nice to see the Sox get in a groove offensively the rest of the season. Line drives and hard hit ground balls that find holes to go with bombs. They should have a team motto: "No More Pop Ups" instead of All-In.
  23. Paulie got five hits? As hawk would say, 'You've got to be bleeping me." I didn't see the game just watched the highlights. Man, Lexi smashed that hit late as did Dunn. And Rios smashed another hit. Baby steps. I think many of us would be less suicidal if that's the right word if the Sox just started being the Sox from here on out. I don't even care if it's home or road, just one at bat at a time, baby. The sad part of our slump/skid is the starting pitching has been pretty damn good all year, wouldn't u say? Oh well, no negativity. Baby steps, White Sox as you hopefully win games in bunches like the Bulls.
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 8, 2011 -> 09:16 PM) Only upon making sincere, heartfelt apologies to the people who still hung on. Maybe offer a sacrifice or something. The sacrifice part made me lol, well smile at least. Hey a Sox win on a Sunday. Nice. I remember last year we hardly ever won on Sundays.
  25. If somehow the Sox turned it around and contended, do you think those of us fans who think they have been a total piece of crap and blasted them should be allowed to cheer for them at that point?
