  1. He's still dead ... yes! On a side note, I've often wondered why these MF terrorists have yet to attack a US sports stadium. I know there was a movie about some stadium getting hit, so the idea has to be out there. Some of these wildly successful college basketball or football teams ... can't you see "security" being lax midway through the third quarter of a football game at Nebraska or Bama or somewhere and bam a hit? Or a Kentucky basketball game or something midway through the second half when "security" is watching the game. It's human nature for "security" at those games to think all is well way through the meat of the ballgame. Just wonder why these scumbag MF terrorists haven't gone that route? Of course I did read Bin Laden was planning on hitting a train route in the future in the US so these terrorist pricks must have continuous discussions of where to hit us. I personally hope we can keep these bastards off our soil forevermore.
  2. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 9, 2011 -> 12:04 AM) Of course four of those were singles with one double, because he's Paul Konerko. I love those Paulie singles where he's right on the ball and smokes it to center or left center. Didn't see today's game to see where they all landed.
  3. QUOTE (hawksfan61 @ May 8, 2011 -> 06:16 PM) You are the first Sox fan I have ever seen pine for Ron Schueler, good grief. Propect guys would have loved Ron though, because Ron sure did LOVE his prospects. In fact he loved them so much he refused to ever part with them to upgrade the major league team, and when 85% of these guys went belly up (like most prospects do) we were left with the Scott Ruffcorns and the Mike Carusos of the world. Also, Ron pulled off the move so many are begging for around here, a firesale. He ended up with such a great return on that boondoggle, we ended up with a whole two relief pitchers for three good major league pitchers. Yup, Ron would be the guy to clean this mess up for sure. What a great post. Wow.
  4. Has Peavy been with the big league club in the dugout much this season? I wish in between minor league starts they'd have had him in our MLB dugout. He seems like a bad ass that wouldn't stand for some of the horses*** play we've had during the season-opening skid.
  5. Are you sure Flowers can't hit at least as well as any average MLB catcher? He this year is hitting .221 but does have 11 walks and fpur home runs. Is his arm great? If he can throw people out, I'd say there's a chance he can play in the big leagues. why the anti-Flowers sentiment? At 25 years old and 6-4, 245 doesn't he deserve a chance in the bigs, especially with AJP looking bad?
  6. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ May 8, 2011 -> 11:12 PM) 5 hits in the inning...thats a 9 inning game most days for us. Amazing what can happen when you don't hit pop ups and lazy fly balls. Would be nice to see the Sox get in a groove offensively the rest of the season. Line drives and hard hit ground balls that find holes to go with bombs. They should have a team motto: "No More Pop Ups" instead of All-In.
  7. Paulie got five hits? As hawk would say, 'You've got to be bleeping me." I didn't see the game just watched the highlights. Man, Lexi smashed that hit late as did Dunn. And Rios smashed another hit. Baby steps. I think many of us would be less suicidal if that's the right word if the Sox just started being the Sox from here on out. I don't even care if it's home or road, just one at bat at a time, baby. The sad part of our slump/skid is the starting pitching has been pretty damn good all year, wouldn't u say? Oh well, no negativity. Baby steps, White Sox as you hopefully win games in bunches like the Bulls.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 8, 2011 -> 09:16 PM) Only upon making sincere, heartfelt apologies to the people who still hung on. Maybe offer a sacrifice or something. The sacrifice part made me lol, well smile at least. Hey a Sox win on a Sunday. Nice. I remember last year we hardly ever won on Sundays.
  9. If somehow the Sox turned it around and contended, do you think those of us fans who think they have been a total piece of crap and blasted them should be allowed to cheer for them at that point?
  10. QUOTE (southsidepride15 @ May 8, 2011 -> 03:59 PM) I'm calling BS, I don't think you got the ball from AJ....and Greg I think you "like AJ again" about as much as I like your use of grammer. You guys take a win and smash it...f***ing enjoy it for a night, this season has been miserable as is and now I come here to see a White Sox Winner thread and it's full of bolded. Pathetic. Please. Don't think I am making light of winning. This is an unusual season so a lot of us are mad. If we were two under .500 or something I wouldn't be acting this way. There are a couple people on here who insist we'll be fine. If the Sox end up contending they will be a lot smarter than those of us who have freaked out at the all-time crappy start.
  11. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ May 8, 2011 -> 07:14 AM) That was FUN. After Pena struck out Cust to end the game AJ threw me the ball. First ball I've gotten at a game since Amos Otis threw me a batting practice ball back in the early '70s. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 8, 2011 -> 07:19 AM) BS. Winning series is a great way to regain confidence and climb back into the race. You think CLE is going to keep up this pace? Even if they are for real and contend all season they are still going to have some rough stretches where they go 3-7 or 2-8...and they could have an entire month where they play bad, can you imagine that....you know, like April....and the white sox? Some of you guys have gotten so f***ing down on the season that you see no hope at all, you're ready for a firesale...IN MAY!! I'm as pissed off and disappointed and disgusted as anyone, but be glad it happened earlier than later and with any luck the suckiness that has been the season so far is behind us. That is so f***ing cool he threw you the ball. musta heard you cheering. I like AJ again. As far as post two, please. Don't get on those of us so "f***ing down on the season." My god, the White Sox did this to us. We are usually most supportive. I always stand up for the team. Not this year. I mean we won a game tonight. Big f***ing deal. We also looked like s*** doing it. At one point we had something like 14 hits and three runs. That's tough to do. This team needs to win an astronomical amount of games just to be halfway in the race. I'm talking 15 of 17, something like that. We are 1-1 on the road trip. You think we are actually going to win a series on this trip. Odds are not good. That said, way to go Gavin and Pena. And nice job Beckham and Morel, et. all.
  12. Just think. If we win and Cleveland loses we'll only be 11 out.
  13. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 7, 2011 -> 02:33 PM) AJ and Rios were pretty predictable, Dunn and Matt have to be defined as shocking as any players struggles so far this season though, not just that they've been bad but how terrible they've been. If AJ and Rios were predictable, then KW really should be canned. Cause that's 2/9 of the everyday order he coulda or shoulda let go or tried to trade.
  14. Sox got all those hits. It really isn't that difficult. Sad to say but we really need to win more than series. Only hope of being relevant again is to win like 13 of 14, 12 of 14.
  15. Pena for closer! Kidding.
  16. What's with the walk? Let em hit it.
  17. We need to bring up Viciedo. No Lilly ... ever
  18. I'm glad it's 6-0. I feel moderately safe with one out.
  19. Tony Pena is a bad choice here. He stinks.
  20. Also about the Royals ... they figure to play the Central teams at least .500 unlike our boys who s*** their pants or loaf against their Central brethren.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2011 -> 03:39 AM) Indians are legit...Royals will finish in last place I don't know about that, Fathom. Francour is having a better year than any of our s*** hitters. They got some young pitching they are going to bring up if they stay in the "race."
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2011 -> 03:37 AM) Cleveland's roughing up Weaver Yeah, it's time people give them and the Royals their props. Both are .500 teams at WORST and that might be enough to be in it until the final week.
  23. Guess what? Those weren't enough runs. 3-0 has heartbreak written over it ... again.
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 8, 2011 -> 03:34 AM) By the end of the month, we'll be up 9-0 in games like this wondering how the hell this happened. That will make me happy.
  25. It should be 7-0. But it isn't.
