The Triumphant Return of Jake Peavy @ Angels
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 12, 2011 -> 05:31 AM) If Alexei stayed put he would of been fine. But he decided to back into the throwing lane which is interference. What was he thinking? Stand still Alexei.

QUOTE (Andrew @ May 12, 2011 -> 05:17 AM) Make up your mind. OK. Detroit won't win it. Cleveland or KC will.

The Triumphant Return of Jake Peavy @ Angels
I assume Peavy was decent tonight? I was watching NBA all night as White Sox games are no match when something interesting is on TV.

The Triumphant Return of Jake Peavy @ Angels
QUOTE (fathom @ May 12, 2011 -> 04:53 AM) Detroit's going to win the AL Central. Best all around talent in the division. I don't know about that. Sox have the best talent on paper, but the worst "team." If Cleveland and the Royals can hang around .500 they'll be in it til the end.

Chicago @ Los Angeles
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 11, 2011 -> 05:45 AM) you need to come up with a new take. this one is tired. OK. I'll bury that word tonight. Though you must admit, what a tiny game thread.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
Bulls and Dallas are the NBA's only hope of keeping hated Miami from winning it all. Hopefully the Bulls can wrap this up in Atlanta and not have to play a game seven. I still feel pretty good about Bulls vs. Heat.

Chicago @ Los Angeles
The fact this game thread is 7 pages proves the Sox are irrelevant. Even on a maniacal fan board, no interest. No new threads. Crazy stuff.

Chicago @ Los Angeles
QUOTE (Real @ May 11, 2011 -> 05:29 AM) and you all thought the last 3 games meant they turned it around this is what a team full of mental midgets will look like, they'll look impressive for 2-3 games and then s*** the bed for a couple weeks this.team.was.done.last.week. I don't think any of us thought it was turned around. Actually this is a decent road trip so far. Problem is like you say the team became irrelevant last week.

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (flavum @ May 11, 2011 -> 02:40 AM) I'll quote myself, because this is what the Sox are going to do, according to Mark Gonzales. They will go with a 6-man through June 1. So....I rule. I tell you, that's just a stupid organizational decision. Humber has done great, but he's odd man out and should be in relief til Jake gets hurt again. I'll tell you what's going to happen. The starters will start to suck now. Why? Cause "that's the way we fly." This will screw them up because something always screws us up (aside from 2005)

Chicago @ Los Angeles
QUOTE (flavum @ May 11, 2011 -> 05:16 AM) If they call Viciedo up, could they get away with Alexei at lead off, and Teahen at 3B? God, I hate this organization. Absolutely no margin for error. I hate this current team for finding a way to fall out of it in one month. I just need to adjust to the fact it's still baseball and to try to enjoy each individual game. At some point there will be wholesale changes and that will be interesting, too.

Chicago @ Los Angeles
Cleveland has won 14 in a row at home. That's how to win a division. What are the sox at home, 5-11?

If the Sox got sold - and moved out of state
No way I'd follow them. s***, they wouldn't be the Chicago White Sox so f*** them. I mean why would I care if they were in Carolina or somewhere? It's not like these players are lovable or something. The fact they play in Chicago means everything since I grew up on the south side and followed them all this time. Once they move, they can lose every game for all I care. I guess I'd be lucky in that I still could watch MLB ball with the Royals.

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 10, 2011 -> 01:55 PM) Who cares how proven he has been prior to this year? He's been our best starter, you can't stick your best starter in the pen because he hasn't been good enough before this year. You have to stick your best starter in the pen when the other five are named Floyd, Danks, Buehrle, Peavy and Jackson. I'd be OK with putting Jackson in the pen but everybody says he makes too much money for that.

Last 7 games, starters ERA - 1.37
QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ May 10, 2011 -> 01:27 PM) Quietly, the White Sox will work their way back into the race. I don't expect a lot of attention put on it (except maybe on this board), but I sincerely think they'll put themselves in position to succeed. It's got to be quiet. Being 11 back in the loss column has made the team irrelevant.

Chicago @ Los Angeles
Hard to believe Danks is 0-5.

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 10, 2011 -> 05:25 AM) White Sox to go with 6man rotation (Peavy on Wednesday, Humber on Friday) for the rest of the week, and then evaluate. Humber's the one guy not "proven." Shouldn't Humber go to relief? Just saying.

Osama Bin Laden Dead
QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 9, 2011 -> 11:35 PM) It wouldnt take that many gunmen either. Look at what happened in Mumbai, 164 dead and over 300 injured. You unleash some automatic weapons in a college football stadium and you could have thousands dead depending on how quickly it empties and how quickly they reload. Yeah. That's why I hope colleges and pro teams quit hiring middle aged men and women to stand guard as security and actually take this seriously. I still say the prime targets are these schools and pro teams where the team is a religion like Alabama or Auburn football or Kentucky basketball. Or Packers or Patriots football. You can't tell me with 10 minutes to play in a Kentucky basketball game or Alabama or Nebraska football game the security forces aren't just standing in the arena watching the game. You get 10 assholes with machine guns to run in at that point and it would be awful. I had a friend say it would be the end of spectator sports.

Gotta love what the starters have done.

Sox @ Los Angeles
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 10, 2011 -> 04:25 AM) Andrew, I think everyone realizes it. That's why everyone has been so despondent and apathetic so far this season, along with our atrocious minor league system that offers no quick remedies, with the possible exception of Viciedo. That's why it's babysteps. We have no alternative if we want to keep following the team than to hope for baby steps. Most of us are dying for the team to inch back and be relevant at some point.

Sox @ Los Angeles
QUOTE (Andrew @ May 10, 2011 -> 05:09 AM) Unfortunately, that's probably exactly what the Sox will do. P.S. - Juan still sux. There's really nothing else they can do, tho, unless they make Edwin the closer or trade Mark. Royals fans will tell you that Humber is ready to start sucking soon anyway.
