The Jenks haters amaze me. He's been the least of our problems this year. Way to go Bobby ... uh, again. -
HAWKS WIN! HAWKS WIN THE STANLEY CUP!!

Great post. I just thought the word you used applied. I thought Philly was on the attack more than the Hawks in all four games. That's scary you think Game five is an unknown. I was hoping home ice would mean an automatic win. -

Why would the security worker tell you something that isn't true? Did he make it up to pull your chain? These rumors never cease to amaze me when those in the know are supposedly involved. I'd call your friend on it because he apparently is CLUELESS. -

Are you serious? How do you figure? Now my question. Do you guys think home ice will immediately make the Hawks wake up and we'll win easily in Game Five? Or do you sense Philly will continue its manhandling of the Hawks? How confident are you in a W in Game Five. Is it automatic victory cause it's in Chicago? Is it gonna be a tossup? Or has Philly caught us? -

When things go this bad it makes you wonder how ANYBODY thought it was a good idea to add old guys like Pierre, Jones, Omar and a stiff like Teahen and how this pitching staff could be performing this badly. Also how could CQ, Beckham and AJ suck this bad??? -
Good for him. Trade him. He hasn't done squat for the White Sox this season.
-
Williams needs to develop a master plan. God knows what it will be. If salary is indeed a concern, I'd trade Peavy and Rios and start rebuilding with all that extra money at hand. The only untouchables? Maybe the starting pitchers not named Peavy, but s***, they may all be overrated stiffs as well. I'd personally keep the starting pitchers and trade any and all of the everyday players and go young young young.

I disagree that the Royals f***ery has prevented him from anything. Give me a break. He has sucked in the big leagues on his own doing. Billy Butler's done OK.
-
Yeah and he's hitting just over .200. Our organization is a joke.

Laughing so loud at our box score. Season averages: Kotsay .193, Nix .143, Beckham .202, AJ .224, Carlos Quentin a robust .202, Jones .216, Pierre .249, Lexi .251. How can Quentin be hitting .202 and Beckham .202. Embarrassing hitters. Jake 3 whole strikeouts of the Indians in 7 innings. What a joke. -
My only disagreement is you guys act like money matters to some teams. Yankees ... why not add Peavy? It's pennies to them. And Rios? Who needs a rejuvenated centerfielder. That's a lot of money for the firesale. I'm sure Jerry is not in love with Rios yet. With this team a noncontender, he'd rather see some of that loot Rios makes than Rios every day I would think.

I wish KW could reverse all but one of his moves and this would be our lineup. Is there any reason to believe we'd have any worse of a team? Then he could try it again via the trade route. I realize Oz is as much to blame since he wanted Omar, Pierre, etc. 1B-Paulie. 2B-Getz/Nix. SS-Lexi. 3B-Beckham (maybe he'd never have slumped had he kept his old stomping grounds; I can wish). LF-Pods/Quentin. CF-Rios (we'll keep that acquisition). RF-Quentin/Dye. Give some days off to the combo of Dye/Pods/CQ DH-Thome/Dye C-AJ Rotation: Mark, Floyd, Danks, Clayton Richard, Freddy. Bullpen: Same middle relief stiffs as last year hoping for bouncebacks, plus Thornton, Bob. WIth the combination of veterans and youngsters adding some zest, isn't this a MUCH BETTER mix??? Thanks, Kenny/Oz for the bad tinkering. --if you think I'm a moron/asshole, just think. I almost made this a new thread. think how mad you'd be reading that! We could have had the plodders one more year, getting closer to the time Danks and Viciedo and Flowers are ready?? Think bout that. -

It was a lousy game. Hawks shoulda flew back home after the singing of God Bless America. Hawks were overmatched tonight. I don't like the way Philly is bullying the Hawks. Hopefully home ice will cure all. Philly is the agressor to this point. They pass the puck and pepper the net. Until that late rally, we saw none of that from Chicago and still that late rally didn't matter as Philly took advantage of a muff and raced in for the crowd pleasing empty net goal to shove our momentum out the window. -
I don't see why a contender like Boston/NY or anybody with money, Philly, wouldn't want Peavy or Rios. If the goal is to shed money they'll prolly try to dump Rios as well. They got money to burn and they'd be getting Peavy for the same reason we got him. why would one lousy start to a season change their minds. Is he that s***ty?

The problem is KW can't really make any productive trades until after the break when contenders are buying. Only guy he can trade now is AJ cause of his no trade deadline deal and frankly, who wants AJ? Is there a fit for him? He can't throw anymore and his hitting is nothing to write home about. I mean isn't his arm toast?? Not flaming, but who would want AJ? I guess if Kendall is still playing, AJ can find a home, but who would be dying to get AJ? -
Why not? They got money to burn. In theory he could get hot for a month or 2. Do you all agree with my post? Isn't that the Sox only option?
-
I just wish KW would blow it up now. Patience is not needed any more. Trade AJ now and start the parade of salary dumping. It matters not that Lucy/Castro are no good and Flowers apparently isn't ready going by what you guys say. Trade all the other salary guys after the all star break when contenders feel the heat to make moves. We should be trying to become the youngest team in baseball by the end of the season. Try to trade Peavy as well to a contender. Boston/NY probably would take him. Do all you can to dump Teahen and Pierre as well. Pray some contender wants them. Pierre could pinch run or something for somebody. Ask Oz if he wants to coach the young guy White Sox who figure to suck for some time to come. If he doesn't, then let him go to the NL for next season and hire Piniella after the Cub fire him or he quits. Or beg Whitey Herzog to come back and try it again. Our next manger figures to be some old, boring guy after the Ozfest.

Toews looks like a scared little kid. Hopefully home ice will cure what ails us, but this series is a total toss up. Philly knows damn well it belongs in the finals. They pretty much ruled this game tonight. I don't know if we will win this series. You guys have to admit if this was a boxing match, right now the Flyers are ahead on points. Can we keep home ice and kick their ass in Game Five? -
Don't want to sabotage the thread, but I'm worried about the Hawks entering Game Five. Philly will have all the mo-jo. As far as Danks, I fear Fathom may be right that he's a No. 3 guy. Peavy?? WTF.
-
Well we are f***ed then. Because our great starting rotation apparently is not great. Danks/Floyd may just be "useful" guys. Mark apparently is on the severe decline and Jake?? WTF is Jake. Bobby ain't getting any younger. Rest of the bullpen besides Cy Young are rag arms. Man we got troubles. And that's just pitching.
-
Any way you slice it, that is a pretty damn good line.
-
It doesn't even occur to you to blame ... uh, Santos?
-
Assuming the firesale is coming very soon ... Do you think the Sox are going to rebuild a team capable of beating teams in its own division? When we won it in 05, there was the belief we would simply have a better team (on paper) than any team in our division from some time to come. We would make the playoffs regularly over these division pissants then take our chances in the postseason. Now we do not match up with Cleveland, KC plays OK against us and Minnie is so much better than us it's not even worth discussing. We used to beat Detroit like a drum no longer. How important is it to have a team on paper that is built to compete with teams in the division? We regularly get our asses handed to us by division foes.

You think we will bounce back at home? Or do the refs want the older Flyers to beat us? -
And guess what? The opponent is Cleveland and the pitcher is the supposedly awesome Danks. If Danks can't go six vs. this piss poor team, then I want him to get an L. But I'm serious. I'm all for you guys getting your wish. Fire him.
