  1. I like the Pods of the last season and so far this season. I am not looking at career stats. I am looking at the Pods I saw last year and this year. He is hitting .385 with no homers and 8 RBI with OBP of .453 and .400 SLG and OPS 853 He has stolen eight bases and been caught once. Last year in 132 games he hit .304 with 30 SBs and was caught 13 times. I don't think he's an all star necessarily but he was our team MVP last year and is tied with Jose Guillen for KC's team MVP in April. I just think he'd have been a better option than Pierre.
  2. Great win, Hawks. I wasn't as worried tonight. It wasn't the elmination game and I was pretty confident throughout. Nashville gave the Hawks quite a fight in that series. Think Vancouver will play us even tougher? Think it'l be another 4-2 series win for Chicago? Hawks playing pretty well on the road of late.
  3. Well you tell me then. You actually like Pierre? Or are you just trashing Pods? I think when healthy Pods is great. Before I say any more, tell me what you think of Pierre. The current Juan Pierre is a joke. The outfielders play him as shallow as they would a decent 12 year old Little Leaguer.
  4. Yeah and that's why I don't care about the baseball draft. Too many busts. Give me wins in September over draft position anyday.
  5. I should have said inexperienced then, not young. At any rate, Peavy needs to start acting like an ace, though starting pitching is the least of this team's worries.
  6. We've got several guys who should be batting ninth and AJ is one of them.
  7. Well, there are a lot of Pierre backers out there. I guess you enjoy watching him play. Good deal for you. Bad for those of us who think he is no good.
  8. That's kind of unfair. The guy was young, young, young. My guess is you won't want to watch many games of any rookie starting pitcher for the Sox, because the guy will have major growing pains. Richard showed some smarts in copying Buehrle's style.
  9. Bad idea. Harmless though. Fans should not stick around for the presentation. Dumb.
  10. I just can't imagine at any point in the season I'm going to like seeing Juan stroll to the plate; many times I loved seeing Pods to the dish.
  11. Well, he, like everybody else on the team needs to step it up. Jenks is still a good closer.
  12. Don't want a trophy. The games mean enough in the standings.
  13. I don't see how anybody who is a fan of baseball would rather see Juan Pierre in our lineup than Pods. Doesn't the eye test count for something? Doesn't it pain you to watch Juan bat as it pains me? Pods is a better hitter. He just is, sabermetrics be darned.
  14. Another guy who didn't make it. What round did we pick him in? Poor Josh. Hope he has something to fall back on in life if he's a baseball washout.
  15. What can he get us? Saves on most nights he's in the game with a lead.
  16. It's been this way forever. Just win, baby. Lose and you can point to tons of reasons the manager was the reason for the loss. When you have a manager who is not a clown (Bevington) and one who knows the game (ozzie) it amazes me most fans won't give the guy the benefit of the doubt on most occasions.
  17. How can anybody question leaving Jenks in? He's the closer. I mean let's discuss reasonable matters, not make up things to question Ozzie on. That is a no brainer. Jenks is the closer. Why would he bring Thornton in. The only way you do that is if Thornton is the closer. He's not. Like somebody said ... no manager in baseball pulls Jenks there. Great sweep, but five total hits? That just plain sucks. Very very glad we didn't waste a great pitching perfomance though. You give up just a couple runs YOU NEED TO WIN. Nice sweep, keep it going, white Sox. Follow the lead of Paulie who has been a f***ing stud. And here's Oz's quote in the Trib story: “Bobby, I was a little bit uncomfortable with him. I just wanted to make sure he was fine. And he was. Bobby’s my closer until we think he can’t do it anymore. I showed him my vote of confidence there. “If I don’t make those decisions, I lose confidence from my players because they don’t think I’m going to believe in them.”
  18. Remember that when you complain about not bunting in the future. We didn't score either f***ing way. With this lineup it doesn't f***ing matter either way! That said, give me a walkoff homer anyday today. Keep it tied.
  19. Nice double. Don't do the dreaded bunt with Lexi.
  20. Danks has pitched awesome. How bout 3 runs.
  21. Yes, Murcie. That is the hope. We need a home run or two the rest of the way or the walk off would be nice.
  22. That was as hopeful a start to an inning and almost as pathetic a result as you could have in the sixth inning against a mediocre, tiring pitcher. We still will win if it's tied late, though. Keep it tied.
