  1. I still say it's a different ballgame in the bottom of the ninth, with nobody out and a man on first. Bunt 'em over and win the damn game. Good teams get it done. Cleveland even went to the bunt in the exact same situation. You need one run; you don't need a rally. Bottom of the ninth; bunt him over and win the damn game. The lowly Tribe got a clutch hit with man on second; why couldn't we???
  2. Bolt, if it was such a bad decision, then Oz should really be put on coals tonight by the media, maybe even disciplined by the owner. Instead, the move is completely understandable. Good teams get the single to win the game right there. We didn't. I agree there were other options, have Juan steal on the first pitch, then bunt him over or hit and run with Gordon. Obviously those would have been better options since the bunt didn't work in hindsight.
  3. True, fathom, but Cleveland got a runner on first and didn't hesitate. Immediately bunted the guy to second like ALL managers do in a tie game in extra innings with no outs ... unless the batter is some big horse who simply CANNOT bunt.
  4. The strategy worked. It's the same strategy we used in the bottom of the ninth. We get a single ... we win the game. We had 2 outs to do it. Players failed. We lose. Case closed. It was not a bad managerial decision. I agree the OTHER call woulda been have Juan steal second, then bunt. Would that have worked? We'll never know. Hit and run with Gordo? Maybe. Would that have worked? We'll never know.
  5. Game One was perfection. Two and Three? Wow. Can't win a series at home vs. the Tribe.
  6. Well, the bunt worked perfectly for Cleveland cause they have some professional hitters who CAME THROUGH in the clutch. Put the blame where it lies: Paulie and Jones couldn't get a f***ing bloop hit to win it.
  7. To me, it was the exact same situation. Gordon Beckham isn't Mickey Mantle (yet) and Juan Pierre isn't Rickey Henderson.
  8. Somebody said Manny Acta wouldn't bunt. The exact f***ing same thing. All managers bunt in that situation. Believe it.
  9. It might have been a silly call, but what manager would not have bunted there? I guess maybe somebody would have sent Juan on the first pitch, then bunted if he was successful on the first pitch steal.
  10. He may not be a finesse hitter, but is he capable of drilling a game winning single?
  11. Jones could have picked everybody up and been a hero with a single there. What's with the fly ball? Didn't he used to play in the NL?
  12. It didn't work, so it's the wrong move. I still think it's on the players more than Oz but since it didn't work, Oz gets an F for the move.
  13. I'm surprised you guys don't realize it's up to our players. Man on second, one out ain't bad odds. A good team gets the single and wins it.
  14. We're still one hit from a victory. A GOOD team wraps it up here, even in game three of the season.
  15. We are still one single from a victory with 2 outs to go. It's a good call especially at home against CLEVELAND. I can agree a stolen base mighta also been in order.
  16. I think almost every manager in baseball would bunt there. It's the bottom of the ninth. We need one run. It may not work but we're one f***ing single from a victory right now.
  17. Calm down and tell me why a bunt is so bad there. We need one f***ing run. Get serious people. It's a decent call.
  18. Credit where it's deserved: Nice job Bobby. I missed the Konerko play so my bad on the Thornton criticism.
  19. I didn't see it all, but that shot to the gap wasn't all on the defense. Cmon Bobby!
