  1. We should have given Carrasco's 1 mill to a Mr. Jim Thome.
  2. Truthfully, we need our starters to do what Mark did today in a vast majority of our games or we have no chance of doing anything. Our hitting is that bad we need our starters to dominate all season. They got to go at least deep into the seventh, preferably all the way through seven, maybe 7 1/3. Then Oz can pick and choose with the lefty, ritey bulls*** leading up to Jenks.
  3. That's what I was thinking. Man he was flowing at that point.
  4. That's true. I felt a lot more calm watching the game today. For whatever reason, my expectations for the team have been lowered greatly with our play in that first homestand.
  5. I wanted Mark to stay in, just because I sensed another late inning loss coming had he left the mound. If our reliever walks the first batter, all bets are off in another close game.
  6. Good win. Long time coming. Just a couple things to point out as to where a win pretty much shuts everybody up. Only winning can shut people up. a.) Ozzie left Mark in to start the eighth inning. I know in the game thread some were upset that Oz didn't get Mark out of there. Can you imagine if Mark got lit up in the eighth? Some would have crucified Oz, at least in the game thread. He mowed down the Twins in the eighth and shut everybody up. I just point this out because Oz's strategy worked this time. When it works, nobody says anything. b.) Thome blasts it off the wall. Only a truly idiotic third base coaching decision prevented the Twins from having second and third and still having a chance to win. Can you imagine the meltdown concerning Bobby had it been second and third and the next batter followed with a hit? Also, people like me would be again furious that we decided to let Thome go. He sure had no trouble taking Bobby's heater off the lf wall. I think Thome still would have been an effective member of the Sox. What I'm trying to say is ... just win, baby.
  7. I would feel a lot better if the Sox take their hacks at the plate as they did today. They were aggressive. That one at bat, where Alexei popped up to second, he looked feeble, but I think he got fooled. It seemed the first two games of the series, everybody swung like Pierre.
  8. I am out. Good luck Bobby Jenks and the White Sox to close this one out.
  9. Too bad Alex couldn't have given us one more single. Insurance would have been very very nice (obviously).
  10. And Mark can get the well deserved win if our closer comes through. Cmon Alex. Everybody hits.
  11. I lose four bucks to bust our slump.
  12. Yes! My reverse jinx has worked on all accounts. Even Jones swings hard today. Better hacks all around today.
  13. Jones is a bum. Please prove me wrong rite now!
  14. If Pods hadn't had those 2-3 obvious baserunning gaffes that pissed everybody off, would we have done the right thing and signed him to a reasonable 2-year deal?
  15. Can you imagine had Paulie homered there how mad the fans would be? How dare the manager keep him in so long?? And on and on.
  16. How many pitches has this guy thrown?
  17. If our hitters were swinging like this since the opener we'd be 3-2. Better hacks at least.
  18. I don't know why Sabermetrics has to rule everything. I'm sure the right thing to do was not let Mark pitch the eighth and he got out of it fine. There's got to be some stat somewhere that indicates Mark after 95 pitches sucks or something like that. Or most pitchers suck after 95. My eyes give me Pods over Juan.
  19. I don't care about Sabermetrics, sorry. My own eyes tell me I like Pods more than I do Pierre. I watched Pods again today smash a base hit that nearly tore the pitcher's head off to start the game and he stole second for his third SB of the year. I know I know. Pods sucks.
  20. I'm glad he gave Mark eight innings. If our team has any heart at all, it will scratch out a run and get him a possible win.
  21. I'd be all for having Beckham move to third, Nix to second and play both every day. Nix sucks at third, doesn't he?
  22. Mark is a stud. I love him in a manly way.
  23. I'm going to 5 p.m. Mass. I will give thanks if we win.
  24. That was a meatball. Teahen needs to find some holes and not smash it right to the first sacker. Hope Thornton has his heat today.
  25. Did Alexei get fooled? Or bad at bat?
