If we are six or seven back when we first play Detroit, I hope the media doesn't act like it's a colossal failure if we split with them or something. I mean the odds of overcoming a team when that team is six up on you are monumental no matter how much we want to win all six. Detroit would have no pressure knowing they just have to win one or two max to finish us off.
  2. Maybe to a certain extent. They already got the money and money talks. He can get all the hot women he wants with the cash he can flaunt. Some guys lose it when they get paid (Jose Guillen). They just do. He'll have a clean slate next spring. Nobody is going to boo him right off the bat in April unless he says or does stupid stuff ala those morons on the Cubs who act up.
  3. Pods definitely deserves to be in a big league uniform next year and it should be with the Sox.
  4. I think you are right. He has to be hurt, which will probably be revealed once the season ends. He'll want the reason known he suddenly couldn't hit. He's just flailing at offspeed stuff and can't hit a fastball either. He should be shut down if his back is bothering him.

If we were to get it to the point where we make Detroit sweat, I would be the first to applaud the Sox and eat my words. I don't want us to lose, folks. If Detroit were to go 2-9 or something like we did and we got red hot we could make 'em sweat. I'd be the first to nominate Oz for mayor.
  6. Rude, here is Oz's quote from tonight. He's had 2 good outings in a row before this I think; aside from that he's sucked. Are you sure that ERA is correct?
  7. QUOTE (son of a rude @ Sep 10, 2009 -> 04:48 AM) I love how you constantly bash Rios whenever you get the chance, yet not Dye when he is playing just as bad offensively and even worse defensively. I forgot Dye, just edited him in. My bad. He truly was horrific, but in a sad, shake your head kind of way.
  8. Kudos go to: Freddy, AJ, Pods, Thornton, Jenks, Josh, the good Dotel. Nice jobs. Goat horns go to Dye, Pena; Rios (though he did get the bunt down in extra innings only to see the runner die at second).
  9. He needs to play winter ball as a penalty for him hitting .140.
  10. He had a chance for a rare feel good moment and couldn't get the walk off hit. It's sad what's going on with his bat.

If we had a chance of any kind we'd have swept the crummy A's while the Royals were cooling off the Tigers. Hate to be buzzkill but did you watch tonight's game? It was two pretty bad teams with us salvaging the series split barely.
  12. AJ and Paulie are having great years. I still can't believe Dye couldn't get the run in with the bags juiced to win it earlier. And really can't believe Oz screwed Freddy by bringing in Pena. Freddy shoulda got the win with Thonrton and Bobby saving it.
  13. I remember some Sox fans booing my idol, Chet Lemon back in the day. Made me mad.
  14. Was Hawk upset? It's almost kicking a dead mule ripping Alex more.
  15. What did Rios do now? Or just sad in general?
  16. It sure seems like we are the worst team in baseball history at scoring a runner from second with one out. But I read the post that said we actually aren't totally bad with RISP this year. Can you imagine how mad we'd be if this game tonight really mattered? Wow.
  17. You had to bunt there. Now in theory you get the single and f***ing win.
  18. It was a bunt single by Fields? Awesome. Love it.
  19. Rios can do the walkoff thing again ... in theory. Josh needs to f***ing get on base. These are the A's people!! Not a good opponent.
  20. That's true. Amazingly they could have gotten it down to 7 in the loss column simply by sweeping the A's. What a season of frustration on the south side.
  21. Jermaine can't even get a walkoff single against a pathetic team like Oakland. Wow. I hope Pena left the ballpark. His teammates should b****slap him for making them stick around another hour or two when they could be out drinking if he'd have gotten one out.
  22. OK, so what if we completely tanked and lost and lost and lost even more? Would we have taken somebody else OVER Beckham?
  23. I don't know why people don't get as mad at guys like Rios, Pena and the bad Dotel as I do. More people seem to be mad at Jermaine than those guys.
  24. Yes but is there a guarantee we still could''nt have gotten Beckham? How do we know the team ahead of us a slot or two would have taken him?
  25. I'm not that pessimistic. I never say 'this game is ova' before it's over.
